In order not to write a lengthy epistle.
I had this loss of appetite right from birth and it's getting worse and worse as I get older.
I can't finish a cup of garri (Eba) at a go, cup I'm even referring to is 'Tin milk can'
Rice or any other 'spoon' meal is worse, once I take 5-10 spoon I'm already full.
There's no appetite enhancing drugs I've not taken, they don't have effect on me rather they ended up making me feel weak and sleepy.
I only eat once a day and won't feel a single urge to eat again, most times I had breakfast towards evening not because there's no food... I just don't feel hungry.
Same with water, imagine a grown up dude like me I barely finished N10 pure water a day.
This has been from birth...
It's effecting me in many ways now as an adult, imagine I visit you and your wife offers me food and I only take 5-10 spoon you might think something else.
Any help or suggestions will be highly appreciated.

You should be thankful to nature who doesn't want you to spend much on feeding with the kind of economy you are born into.

Anyway, you can still try fruits, if your appetite approves.

The only fruit I can eat is banana, anything aside from that I feel disgusted.

While you should be grateful that your condition is a plus in your economic clime, you definitely need some closure.

I don't think you are anorexic.
I keep warning pregnant women who eat everything like thieves and eat even what they don't need, but they'd say they are eating for two.

Ask your mom, she must have eaten so much for two when she was pregnant with you that nature has now decided you don't need to eat so much anymore in life.

I'd call it a foetal gastric bypass.

Your eating disorder is quite psychological anf if you don't have appetite because you're afraid of not gaining weight, it could be termed bulimia neevosa but in the absence of the fear of gaining weight, there's no other medical term that can be used to describe ur case.

You should try changing your diet to be able to eat more. Try some foods you enjoy and if you cook your food, try to make it more spicy and you can eat more.

Nobody takes water because they like to but to avoid dehydration. You can try having can water with you around so you can take intermittent sips.

Thanks for your input sir, it's not 'weight' related. It's been from birth.

No matter how spicey the food is, the appetite and urge isn't just there.

I don't eat out cuz that'll be a waste of money, a friend once took me out to eat; imagined I only ordered for 1 pounded yam which I couldn't finish while my friend ate 4 effortlessly.... pathetic really.
