Yellow Fever, in its recent outbreak, has claimed 16 lives out of 20 confirmed cases in Bauch state.

This was disclosed by Dr.Rilwanu Mohammed, the Executive Chairman of the Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency, who gave the updates in an interview with newsmen in his office, at the wekeend.

He said, the death toll increased because some adamant citizens rejected vaccination during the statewide vaccination.

According to him, about 119 suspected cases were recorded, 20 presons were said to have contracted the disease, out of which 16 died.

“We realise that all the people that rejected vaccination are the ones dying. The last three victims four days ago refused the vaccine and all three were infected.

“They took them to a traditional healer who did his own work but the two were still unconscious. They were later taken to Bauchi but all of them died.”

He noted that, all the cases were from Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state.

The Primary Health Executive Secretary explained that, “We are planning to go into all the confirmed areas, about 55 places on Monday to carry out a door spraying of all the lava sights and fumigation of all the communities.”

Three visitors from Yankari Games Reserves were first confirmed and recorded cases of Yellow Fever, we have provided vaccinations to treat those infected and mosquitoe nets to protect others: he said.

Mohammed said, at least 21 state in Nigeria have Yellow Fever outbreak of which only three state were active, they include; Bauchi, Ebonyi and Kastina State.

This should be number 1 alert on every platform this week but no , we only prioritize bbnaija and some low life celebs SM fights. We deserve the type of people that rule us because they are the reflection of who and what we are as a nation.

These people deserve no pity. They are part of the reason Nigeria is still backward.
Take medication and vaccination. They will refuse because of their useless religious beliefs.
