Please I need advice

I and my better half would be tying the knots soon and we are trying to secure an apartment as a newly wedded couple

Please what kind of apartment would be preferable

1 room self contain
Room + parlour self contain (1 bedroom mini flat)
2 bedroom flat

Thanks for your responses and reasons

If you wish to stay in Ikotun. I'm moving out of my 2bedroom soon.
You just pay the normal 180k per year and continue the stay.

300k is too much for mini flat for ketu, oga I don't believe your quote. 200-250k is ideal.

Oga which area is this I beg?

I stayed in 1-bedroom (mini) flat after wedding.
Because, most importantly , I wanted to discourage overnight visitors as much as possible. We needed quality bonding time together at least first year before the baby comes.

Although even if I had gotten a 2-bedroom flat, I would use one as store room.
If you have gotten more than enough wedding gifts, you will surely need a place to put away some stuff while still keeping your flat neat and decent. My luck was that the upstairs flat I got, I am the sole user of the staircase and under the staircase is enough room for stuff

Sense no go kill you

Bro
whether you stay in a mini flat or a two bedroom, the Koko is cut your coat according to your material.

If 2bdr is affordable, go for it.

If you can't comfortably pay for 2bdr, stick with mini flat.

The key mark is not to spend more than 25- 30% of your income on house rent.

Preferably, i will say 2bdr is the better way to start, as kid could come soon and you may not want to move to a new place after 2-3yrs coz of the stress of changing apartments.

Just do where your power reach Las laa

If you intend living there for longer period and you like there, get a 2 bedroom flat depending on your income

But if for a managing start depending on your income, go for one bedroom flat congratulations

Congrats on your forthcoming wedding.
Please keep living where you are already living now.

You don't need an apartment in your early stage of marriage maybe till you start having kids unless you want to impress your wife and her family in which case is an unfortunate faulty start.

Move her to stay with your family so they can bring out the wife in her.

Most of today's ladies are ill-trained and you need her to bond with your family because you don't want a wife who'd never visit your people if you are unfortunate to die before her.
Moving her to stay with his family is an I'll advice. please op ignore that advise
Re: What Apartment Is Best For A Newly Wedded Couple? by blissbliss: 5:16pm On Sep 29, 2019
A mini flat is ok. Having two rooms opens doors to visitors. When your wife delivers, you move to the living room. Your child would most likely sleep in your bed till age 5, so why bother take a 2 bedroom?

Skmoda:

Firstly, you don't necessarily need to get an expensive hall, open giant tent is ok and you will get your decoration fixed just like it's done in the hall....

Secondly, you could even do open grass wedding during dry season in an hotel that has an open field in the evening...you won't pay more than 20k or 40k max for rentage, decoration fees including Chauvari chairs, flowers( Mat flower and cherry blossom flower)100 to 200k (100 chairs) if you want more depending on your pocket. Finally, the rest will go into caterer and other things ....from that 1m you will still buy your 35k suit and bridal gown 40 to 50k it might be lesser depending on the maker......so plan well bro.

Must you guys wed in Lagos

Go back to your respective home towns and rent one big Secondary School hall for 50-100k. And anybody wey no fit come na him own be DAT.

Don't try to please people and displease yourself.

1m to 1.5m will build you guys great and big investments in this Life. Please don't waste it on a day's event.

That's statement is so annoying.
You want him to expose his wife to his family

Please, respect your partner, don't treat her like a slave or maid.
Please, don't mind this guy o.if you can afford it,take a mini flat,at least you can still manage it with 2kids...till you can afford bigger.
BTW,be planning towards having your own house,no matter how small!!!
Your marriage will be a fruitful one.

That remind me, someone I know very well use a miniflat with his 2 children before the 3rd came. He construct a double bet close to his bed for them.. both children use it as the 3rd child being an infant stayed with them on bed..

Even the warri you dey talk so the hall wey we use do our wedding was 150k. At the end both traditional and the white, we spent more than 2m, even as we try to manage reach. Maybe except you are doing both wedding same day and also in empty space.

in a scenario, 600 to 700 k is only what you have home and abroad, it will definitely work. Cut your cloth according to your size. I believe when doing both wedding same day, once you have paid the bride price. other requirements, can be boycotted, one way or the other. let any of the parents or relatives that object to this boycott pay.
