This is not proper. If people post something, it's not your place to judge them.
This is a main reason why engagement on the thread has slowed down. People just stay on the fringe because of attacks like this.
Just respond to the issue and leave her personal business alone.
That's African mentality and that's why we're still here.

I think you should accept your fault. We are all humans and can make mistake, this is your mistake and it has been pointed out to you all you need do is just apologize to the Lady or move on if your ego won't allow... What you said about her played in my mind too but I thought to myself, what is my concern. All in all I think everyone should learn how to criticize people without judging them. You don't know them

Hi everyone, i've been a silent reader of this thread for a while, I just need answers to some questions.
I'm 22yrs in my 3rd year in the University, my bf is in US, his dad is a Legal permanent resident who filed for him and he has been there since last year. We've been very close friends for 3years now but we only just started dating after he left the country and we really don't have any pictures together. He hasn't gotten his permanent resident card yet so he can't leave the country, my question is what if him or his Dad invites me over for a visit next summer during my school break and if I get letters from my school, is being a student here enough proof that I'll come back, Also since my bf isn't a permanent resident yet, what are my chances of getting a visa. Do I indicate he's my bf when we really don't have pictures together or do I say he's a close friend. What do you suggest is a better way to visit. Please I really need all the answers I can get

How come your boyfriend hasn't gotten his PR if his dad filed for him? At what point was he filed for (before or after US entry?), and how did he enter the US if I may ask? Truth however is that your chances based on deductible ties from your post are pretty slim, and even becomes slimmer than slim in several ways with your boyfriend as part of your travel plans at all.

Lol, I get that jare......Tanks a lot for this reply, he's so concerned about this issue, he said it can take about 5yrs b4 he gets his green card

He should continue visiting you in Nigeria until he marries you.

5 years to get green card or citizenship? I don't understand. You said the dad filed for him?

I have a registered business, 34, I had been denied student visa twice last year , married and my wife's convocation is in April as I planned applying to go for her convocation on b1/2 visa by then. I planned spending not more than a week as my business is highly demanding. I planned getting a landed property soon for personal reasons. My monthly average is 180k. What are my chances please. All kinds of comments are totally welcome.

Thanks

bros...with 180k monthly income, how you wan take show say your business is highly demanding so you won't spend more than one week? Moreso, this same demanding business was there when you wanted to go and study last year and you were denied twice. Assuming the business is highly demanding, why would you abadon it for years of study? So, if you could abadon the business for studies in USA last year, how do you want to prove that you won't abadon same business this year if given a visa? Moreso, your wife is already in USA. So you want to go and join her and continue with the family hussle? If you no get another story apart from this one, don't waste your money. No VO will be convinced

Hi all. I recently applied for the US Visa DS-160 form. While applying I chose Lagos, but at the time of booking an interview with the consular, there was no available date in Lagos, so I chose Abuja.
However, I was informed that I might not be allowed at the embassy in Abuja because my DS-160 form is carrying a Lagos address.
Please who has had this situation before and is it going to be a challenge for me please?
Thank you

Thank you helpee I worked with a multinational at lekki and left last year after visa wasn't approved and work was perfectly fit with chosen graduate studies so I had no reason for denial. Mind you I started this business late August so when I say it's demanding, that should simply indicate it's growing and I have staffs working with me. If that's not it then tell me how else would I demonstrate a strong tie or just your assumption seeing my wife is over there as the major reason or just my business not enough to show home tie

Thank you sir. I mean the words in quote. I really mean it. I have not travelled anywhere.ok my wife's location is what I perceived too might be a tight one. Thanks again. I might not consider applying anylonger.

Please I need an urgent advice...
I meet a US citizen online and we have been dating for almost close to 2 years now, & He has visited me twice in Nigeria.....now he wants me to come visit him too in the United states Atleast once before we get married...He said he will send me and invitation letter and any other document that I might need...

My question is what are my chances of getting the visa if I should apply now?

i know people in here are trying to stay truthful and blunt as always but all i see here most times in negative comments towards people seeking for advice . You might have the shittiest profile and yet be given visa and you have the best profile and be denied . i have come to the conclusion that given a US is based on luck , just make sure your story is as true as possible and hope for a positive outcome . No one here is related to a VO nor knows the the true guidelines given to VOs to grant visa , so if you going to apply take it like you are gambling , if you get it GOOD, if you dont , try again but know from there on your story must align with your previous applications.

Hello,

So I have submitted my DS 160 form and I picked my location as Lagos, I have not paid the fees yet and when I checked appointment for Lagos they are in December. Abuja dates are earlier though - can I fill and another form, submit and switch it with a location in Abuja?

My work takes me to Abuja every now and then and I'm just looking at how to get a date in October - the event I'm traveling for is in November

Hi guys, I have a quick question.

Is GT the only platform to pay for the visa application fee? Is there an online channel to do this without walking into the banking hall?

1. Yes, you pay US VISA fees only at GTBank
2. Yes, via GTBank Internet Banking Portal for account holders only.

Low quality profiles do not stand a single chance at this moment. Visa denial rates have become extremely high.
Yes it is a bit of luck but do not advice anybody to apply for a U.S visa with a shitty profile as it will be a waste of time and money.
Anybody that needs a U.S visa this period need to step up their game and build a very strong profile to even stand a chance.
Stop trying to sugar-coat the situation because even the negative response I have seen so far on this thread were actual reality of what is going on at the U.S embassy.

There is a saying that goes Fortune favors the prepared. Sometimes there is luck involved but mostly preparation and understanding what your drawbacks and positives might be in the US embassy's eyes can help an applicant make a stronger case to receive a visa.

Earning over $1,000 a month (NGN357,000) probably helps. Being well travelled outside of Nigeria (in other parts of Africa, Europe) helps. Having a steady, well-paying job helps. Being part of a well-travelled family helps, having significant family ties to Nigeria helps. All of these things push the needle in your favor, but you must also remember the human factor that is your VO. Be pleasant, well-spoken, relaxed, direct, and demonstrate positive, honest, and open body language are things that help the VO look positively at an application. Above all, don't lie. The US embassy has decades worth of info on Nigerians who apply for visa. They have an idea of demographics, earnings, etc. Don't think they don't use it.

PS Just to be clear, though, lying about your income is not luck, that is just fraud.

Good evening everyone, I trust all is well.

I will like to run my situation with everyone and hoping to get advice.

I am a frequent traveller (Visitor) to the U.K since 2007 - my mum lives there. At some point I went for my masters Degree and also got a post study visa (2yrs work permit). In 2014 I moved back to Nigeria and I got married in 2015. My wife and I applied for US visa and we were denied. Tho her passport carries her dad's surname at the time- not sure that's a reason for the refusal.

Got pregnant in 2017 and we decided she should go give birth in the US , which she applied and was refused.

Fast forward, she travelled with our son (4months old) to Dubai in Jan 2018. I didn't go with them as I was busy with my business. Late 2018 , we all applied for U.K. visitors visa and we were granted. In addition, I have been to SPAIN aswell (I went alone from U.K.).

To my main question, now we have another baby and we all plan to apply for US visa again, do you think we have a good history now to get the US visa?

However, my wife sells Fashion wears - men, women and kids and I am into Media and Entertainment Business. Though I didn't apply with this business when I first applied, I used a business electronic business (which I stopped few years ago to focus on on my media and entertainment business).

This is my story, please advice and also suggest which way to go.

Thank you everyone!

Keep travelling to other countries for your holiday. Leave U.S out of it fot now especially if ALL 4 of you want to apply same time. It may be difficult convincing the VO. IMO

I will agree with you to some extent. While we try to encourage people to be truthful, blunt and build a strong profile before heading to the US embassy, it is really difficult to definite what is a strong profile and how the VO truly assess potential immigrants and visa approval in general.

I have seen lots of people with well-documented travel history, good home tie, and amazing well paying job in Nigeria denied US visa with cogent reason. In fact, many of these people will never abandon their job and stay in the US illegally. On the other hand, I know people with clear intention to escape the hardship in Nigeria who got the visa without a single travel history. A prime example is a family residing in my neighborhood. This family has not even visited Ghana, the agent gave them a fake job and duties(federal government job when in actual fact, they were petty traders), fraud bank statement and a claim of a family visit to Disney World. I was shocked when they got the visa. They sold everything they have left and traveled since last year to permanently reside in the US which was the intention from day one.

After seeing those cases above and many more, I came to the conclusion that the process lacks merit and involve a certain level of luck which ranges from poor visa officer emotion to your response to the visa officer"z question. Most importantly there is a God factor which should never be ignored.
