Well you have a point. But if you also look at the IGR generated by the Southern states, it should at least cover up for the salary wage bill to some extent.

We can’t compare the IGR of Ogun state with that of Kebbi even if we will argue that Kebbi is gonna have a lower salary wage bill. So I think the southern governor should wake up and try to buckle up at least to some extent.

Kebbi state government pays every 27th/ 28th of every month.

Looking at the headline one will think that the Governor has paid the new minimum wage but rather an Announcement by the SSG.
It's a welcome development though and I hope the state pays and not just a mere statement and directive
