If 2 of those types were in a station any sensible person should rather pay up even if you dey your fathers house

I've been in a similar situation and they accosted me in an isolated place. With knowledge that they could easily dispatch me and label me a criminal later, I decided to take an L and then quickly negotiated the matter there and then and was on my way in less than 15 mins.

It's easy to be bold online. It's not so easy when you are confronted with such in real life.

If you've never been victim of police brutality/the whole 4cked up system of law enforcement we have in this country you won't understand his state of mind when he gave them that money.

I've had two separate issues with the police. The first: I was in 200l, I was home for the weekend and I was picked up in the estate (like 2 streets away from mine). The police officers dragged me into the bus after giving me what they call "dirty slap". The claimed I was an armed robber despite telling them I only wanted to buy airtime in the shop ahead. Unfortunately I never carried a means of ID. I was whisked away, they raided more people before we were taken to the station past 12 midnight. I managed to text my sis while they were raiding others so they got to the station before me sef. I was bailed the next morning and I never reach area for months sef. I heard they frame people like me for unsolved crimes and parade them at their area command

Well i know I could've stood my ground right there because it was few minutes to 10 on a saturday night and the shop I was going to buy airtime was opened up ahead, but here i am in the middle of a deserted road with 5 or more guys carrying AK 47's(which they already cocked immediately I was slapped). I had no choice but to chill and just do their bidding.

The second experience was the day of my final paper in school. We had gone to celebrate and booze after our last paper. Around 10.30pm when my guy dropped myself and my roommates at the bus stop, we were so ecstatic and were talking loudly without noticing the danger ahead. The daredevil police men took a dark spot close to the bus stop for their illegal duty. By the time we became aware of their presence there, it was too late to run. They had people sitting on the bare floor with handcuffs on. They asked us accused us of being armed robbers terrorizing the area. Immediately I remembered my encounter with them in my area, I told them I am not an armed robber but a student. While they were about asking for our means of ID, one of my guys just ran off and made matters worse. the policemen drew their weapons and said the guy who ran was the one carrying our guns; hence why he ran. Well I insisted I wasn't a robber but a student. They asked us to prove it. I was fortunate to still have my exam pass in the back of my jean which I showed them. Even when I did, one foolish illetarte among them was still saying maybe I'm a part time armed robber and part time student . They asked me to step aside as they don't want Lasu students' wahala. Nobody told my other friends to start bringing out their various means of ID. We were now asked to go. This sounded too good to be true and we thought they would shoot us immediately we turned our backs.

Long and short, we were freed but I never forgot the fact that they pulled gun on us and may have shot us if not for their oga who said they should allow us go cos of Lasu student wahala. I was willing to give everything just to leave that scene cos I never knew what exactly was working their brain that time.

Your first story is similar to what happened to a friend, we always go shayo together at Tuns Bar on Akowonjo road, as he was going home around midnight and knocking his father's gate Na so policemen picked him up and bundled him into a commercial bus before his parents could get downstairs

By the time they got to Afonka police station they said they should come back the next day, Next day they claimed they saw a pocket knife on him and they were escalating his case to Area G. As robbery case
The guy's mother who was a lawyer had to part with 15K this was in 1999-2000 to bail the son out because she said once it gets to Area G, You don't know what this can lead to and by that time 15K won't resolve it.
