Stop mis-informing the public by using the word most. There is only 2 communities in Anambra west where Igala and Igbo are spoken. The rest speak 100% Igbo. Anambra west has about 15 communities and Igala can be heard in 2, how does 2 become most out of 15? Who told you they can choose to be called any of Igbo or Igala?

Let's drop this... You're already pushing in the direction that may bring out the worst in one.

If it's an argument.. You've won. Hope that's enough to assuage you.

"akwa ibom is largely igbo" onanother you say "akwa ibom is partly igbo"..

I askyou to mention the part that is igbo and you are telling me that it is secret that you will take me in private there.

You guys are sooo anoying, thats why even folks that speak a semblance of the language will not want anything to do with being called a part of you...

The better you guys learn to dissociate ignorance from arrogance the better.

There are no indigenous Igbo in Cross River, Bayelsa, Akwa-Ibom and Edo State

There are indigenous Igbos in Rivers State and Delta State,

I know most Igbanke people bear Igbo names and their Languages sounds Igbo. I have met/work with a girl from Obubra LGA, Cross River, her name is Nkiru. I didn't ask how she got the name or whether people over there bear Igbo names.

Igbanke people are just like Itsekiri to Yoruba people,

Guy Cross river has the most diverse language speakers in Nigeria.. I can comfortably hold brief for Akwa ibom and calabar.. Ibibio and efik the rest i cant hold their brief comfortably, kbudu has parts that speak tiv.
Why are you confusing yourself, you earlier said "There are ZERO igbo tribe in Akwa Ibom and cross River, when i say Zero i mean zero, tag me to any thread you find please, mention me"
What is eating you up? If you know nothing on things like this why not keep shut and learn.
Igbos know and will never forget thier brothers wherever they are even the ones indigenous outside of Nigeria.

I have several friends from there....some of them bear Igbo names...even their surnames.... Though they claim that they were supposed to be from Delta state but somehow they were carved to Edo. Her name is Ngozi. That's an unadulterated Igbo name. Another person bears Udele as his surname. Udele in Igbo means vulture which was the same meaning the guy gave.....those are my bases for the statement

Well, I was more concerned bout the part where you said they speak Igbo, not really on the part where you said they have the names. Most people answer names which are different from the language they speak. It might sound weird but that’s the truth. I don’t know bout their surnames though, but they actually speak Ika, at least that’s what I heard them speaking for the six years I stayed there, they might have changed it shall grin And Ika is different from Igbo, so it shouldn’t be concluded that they understood it in any form. An Asaba man must use pidgin to discuss with an Agbor man, because he runs the risk of not understanding what the latter party might say. An Ika man fully understands Igbo, but an Igbo man won’t understand Ika (he will never understand a complete sentence). I’m pretty sure no Igbo person can argue that.

4. Anambra State
Anambra is a state in southeastern Nigeria. Its name was inspired by one of its Northern and riverine clans Anam but merged with “branch”.

Language spoken: Igala and Igbo are the major languages of Anambra state

Please and please Igala is not a language in anambra state, let alone been a major language.

There is nothing like Igala language in anambra state pls.

Who be this one?
The dominant language in Delta is Urhobo and it’s variants. Delta Igbos cannot even communicate with each other. I don’t know where people get the idea that an Ika man is from the same tribe as an Oshimili man. Just cause one person said it doesn’t mean it holds. Let’s point back to history so I can disprove the horrendous claim that Igbos and the Ikas are one. During the civil war, Agbor was used as a battlefield (actually just the path along the Lagos Asaba Road). Guess who the Hausas were killing there? Not the indigenes but Igbo natives. My question is this. How did they spot the difference if both languages are the same as people claim them to be? And please don’t answer with an insult as we are just here to debate on the reasons why over 1000 different set of persons can’t stay together (I don’t know what Lord Lugard was doing, them suppose dig up him grave tear am better slap).

Excellent job, OP. Commentators, why not praise the hard work done and constructively point out any errors or omission so the Op could investigate further and either make corrections or justify his assertions. This sort of information should be on Nigeria's official website as well as the official website of each state of the federation. It should also be included in schools social science textbooks.

you just listed igala as a major language in Anambra. you even wrote it before Igbo.

listed ikwerre as a separate language from Igbo in Rivers. listed ika and ukwuani which are essentially Igbo dialects as separate from " Delta Igbo" but failed to note that egun is spoken in lagos. Also untonkon is a town in Benue not a language , their language is Igbo. The problem is that Nigerians grope proudly in institutionalized ignorance

Igbo is diverse, Agbor man understands standard Igbo because he's Igbo, he would also struggle to understand some other igbo dialects like say, Nsukka, Ngwa, Mbaise etc.
I pick Agbor dialect but not 100%. I will struggle for sure but will pick some words and make meaning out of it.
It's not even argued because Ika is just one of the several Igbo dialects.
