Good day house. Please I am asking on behalf of a friend. My friend wants to do court marriage in Bariga registry in Lagos to use it for her spouse visa application, she has gone to the registry and she was told the certificate is very authentic and can be used internationally. But the problem now is that some of her friends told her that local registry is not acceptable by UK Embassy only federal registry at Ikoyi. Please house how true is this? She is a confused. And beside the money for Ikoyi registry is higher, they were charging 60k while Bariga is charging only 15k. I will appreciate your suggestions please. Thank you.

Anyone? Please?

Your DS-160 location has to match with the location you select for your appointment; so if booking @ Abuja, you’d need a matching DS-160

Please is there any difference between Registry any where else in Lagos and the one at Ikoyi?
I thought they will all issue same certificate.

Hi Guys

please i need your help or advice rather. my interview is 1st week in November and this is my standing.

i went to the united states once with my mom when i was underage, when my visa expired i renewed via drop box and got 2 years again, the problem here is i never used it, mostly because of school(Unilag) and the frequent strikes that occurred, there was lot of uncertainity with regards to when strike would be called off, and mostly exam followed next after strike . so in the nutshell i didn't use it, this is as far back 2014/ 2015.

After then i have been to dubai 3 times, mostly November /December for vacation and time off work. This year i went in September because my company sponsored me for an Expo.

Also, In July my parent who i had renewed and gotten my united states visa with reapplied and were granted. but then they are above 60 and i don't hear any talk on older ones being denied.

i am going for the first time on my own and i am definitely nervous and don't know what my chances are.

please help

She seems to be the one that approved my 221g visa early this year in same Abuja. She is very direct and likes shot answers and if you must explain anything to her, make it quick and precise.

Leave USA alone for now. Think about it? Why would a visa officer want to give you a visit visa to the USA at this time that visa approval success rate is very low. No travel history. You can't even afford the cost of travel...a friend is sponsoring. Why would your friend sponsor your vacation to USA? And you are single? So why won't you run away? Even if it is not America, few embassies will approve visa for someone claiming a friend is sponsoring their holiday trip. If it is student visa it even makes sense but for visiting...Na almost automatic denial. It obviously means you don't even have a real job and the next thing is to go on a visit. Sorry if my language is a bit hard but the reality is you stand no chance but I know some guys here will say na lie. Go try your luck. In that case, I agree with them and wish you best of luck in contributing your visa money to American economy.
NOTE...you have added more information about aromatherapy. Why can't your friend come to Nigeria and train you about aromatherapy? If you have a business you are running why can't you sponsor your own trip? Please note, YOU WONT HAVR TIME TO DO ALL THESE EXPLANATIONS DURING INTERVIEW. The officer will only ask you generic questions like
Are u married
Have you travelled before
Who is sponsoring your trip

And after just these three questions...you are denied without further explanation so don't assume you will have time to start explaining why it is your friend sponsoring the trip

If you have not stayed unnecessarily longer than normal (not talking of overstay here please) in the US on previous visits, Prospects remain high, especially if your job is paying reasonably fair and if you would be travelling with your parents still, particularly for just this trip, but no biggie, you should be good.

I really appreciate the advice... your first question why would my friend sponsor me? Well I have been buying goods from him Nd his wife for almost a year now and the have come to be like a family to me, when the wife talked about me coming to US for training, I was skeptical at first cause I had no intention of traveling outside Nigeria , and they don’t mind sponsoring me to come... and your next question why I won’t runaway? The business am doing here is still a fresh market and have soo many opportunities, I just want to go and learn how to make those products... cry cry cry ... this was the chat I had with them yesterday when I told them l I WAS GETTING DISCOURAGED about coming... but I really need that training

Go ahead and apply with the passport provided interview date is before its expiration. But you will need to get a new one for the travel itself once passport is below 6 months validity (you can renew your passport once it has less than 6 months validity, if more than that is left on the passport, it is only Abuja Hqtrs that can renew it for you).

Closest interview dates are November and December for Abuja and Lagos respectively.

Modern Day slavery still exists.
Your friend is too forceful to having you over in the US.
What do you want?
Bearing in mind the other comments on your chances, or lack of it.

Hello,

So I have submitted my DS 160 form and I picked my location as Lagos, I have not paid the fees yet and when I checked appointment for Lagos they are in December. Abuja dates are earlier though - can I fill and another form, submit and switch it with a location in Abuja?

My work takes me to Abuja every now and then and I'm just looking at how to get a date in October - the event I'm traveling for is in November

Go ahead if Abuja works for you, schedule your appointment there now (you won't be allowed to change it again), fill a new form and pick Abuja as your location when submitting, update the former form number on your CGI profile with the new one and print a new Appointment Confirmation that carries the new form's number on the bar code.
