I don't think English groomed players are that talented self.. they have the best football infrastructure in the world but not the talents.. that's why it took them ages to win their first u-17 and u-20 world cup.. it's their media that hype their players unnecessary

God bless you bro

But others won’t agree with you

Tammy Abraham seems to disagree with you that he is fully Nigerian

So if my children decide to play for Nigeria, you will tell them, they are not 'fully Nigerian". Is that a joke??

Unfortunately, it takes more than talent to succeed. Talent needs to be nurtured and talent has to have the right attitude.

Let's stop all this Tammy and Tomori talk. It's not as if they are Messi and Ramos. Abeg, make we hear word. I wasn't expecting anyone of them to play Nigeria in d first place.

That does not make them less Nigerian.

I have clamoured for the inclusion of home grown players who are doing well and will add something different to the team severally here so u don't have a point.

All am saying is the mentality of believing that kids born abroad a less Nigerians than those born at home is myopic and if u re among the group that have such mentality I advise u change.

I'm not here to boast but only used myself as reference and if that disturbs you then search for the nearest transformer in your hood to hug cus no be me cause wetin dey do u cheesy

In a football context you are fully a national of the country you commit to and play for — dual nationality or not.
But the term here is used in a different context. It’s similar to racial prejudice.

This lesser Nigerian talk is true. Of course there's no rule on it, but I only see people of Nigerian descent, who actually want to have something to do with Nigeria as Nigerian.

There are many people of Nigerian descent who don't want to be associated with Nigeria, you can't tell me because their parents are Nigerians, that they're as Nigerian as I am. That's not possible naa.

Those who admit their Nigerian roots, fine, yes, they can be called Nigerian. And not because one person has gone far in the world, we start to flirt with the person as Nigerian even when the person doesn't acknowledge as one

the way many reasoned is funny.
most kids in Abuja and Lagos now... privileged to come from a little above average families tend to have two passports....

most parents often do all they can to create this opportunities for their children so as to make it cheaper and easier for them to school abroad...and also other benefits....

it is very common to see kids here in Abuja with dual nationalities and you won't blame them because they had the privilege to....

please ignore shallow minds... many don't even have a Nigeria passports let alone they know how it feels like to be a dual citizen

Half Nigerian, Full Nigerian, Partial Nigerian, 3/4 Nigerian, 1/8 Nigerian. Oh bloody hell *FacePalm*

In this kinda scenarios it's quite straightforward. Simply: What do they identify as?

And that's how they'll be referred to.

Not Half Nigerian etcetera etcetera. At the very worst Dual Nationalities.

Your super eagles is made up of foreign born player. Remove all the foreign born and dual citizen players from the Super Eagles, what kind of team would you have now?

No Iwobi, Aina, Ekong, Ebuehi, Semi Ajayi, Balogun.

These players will continue to play an integral part of our future.
Jesus, are you saying a Super Eagles team without the guys you listed won't be competitive?
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by charlesemeka85(m): 8:01pm On Oct 04, 2019
The debate about why players plying their trade in the Nigeria Professional Football League are not getting the attention of teams playing in Europe top five league namely France, Spain, Italy, Germany and Italy has been provided by a Nigerian intermediary.

Players from the NPFL the past few seasons have made moves to teams in other league but none has moved directly to a team playing in a top five European League since Taiye Taiwo moved to Marseille in 2005.

Yusuf Ibrahim who is a licensed intermediary ‎said the situation has a lot to do with a decline in the quality of players playing in the NPFL as well as the ages of the players which is most times above what teams playing in major European leagues are looking for.

” We have to be honest with ourselves to get to the root of this issue. Most Nigerian teams don’t recruit young players of the age that will attract these teams. Most times what clubs do is exchange same players in different seasons without room for fresh talents. That is also a problem “, Ibrahim told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” The quality too is very low. Back then when you watch any NPFL game you can tell you’re watching the elite league of a country. These days most people sleep through games, it’s that boring. Also the local lads in the U20 and U23 teams were not up to the level of teams in Europe. It’s a sad situation “, he concluded.
