Nigerians in Nigeria are treated as less Nigerians and they think someone else is less Nigerian. What an irony.

Later most of them will accuse South Africa of xenophobia. What do we call this?

This lesser Nigerian talk is true. Of course there's no rule on it, but I only see people of Nigerian descent, who actually want to have something to do with Nigeria as Nigerian.

There are many people of Nigerian descent who don't want to be associated with Nigeria, you can't tell me because their parents are Nigerians, that they're as Nigerian as I am. That's not possible naa.

Those who admit their Nigerian roots, fine, yes, they can be called Nigerian. And not because one person has gone far in the world, we start to flirt with the person as Nigerian even when the person doesn't acknowledge as one

I know many Nigerian that as soon as they land Gatwick airport. They completely deny all things Nigerian. They put on a fake accent and spend night and day bashing Nigeria. They were born in Nigeria and were brought up in Nigeria but hate all things Nigerian.

Unfortunately, l have seen this more in women than men. All the cultural norms and values that they revered and upheld over decades are dashed in minutes. They have become more oyibo than the Oyibos. Within months of arrival marriages of a decade is on the rocks.

Then l meet Nigerian origin children here who speak Yoruba Or Igbo fluently and have not been to Nigeria yet. And uphold our values and norms.

The question is what does it mean to be Nigerian or how do you define the Nigerian.

Having one passport determines that your loyalty lies with only one country

Can you accuse Tammy Abraham of not being loyal to Nigeria? Can you?

This is the problem with your proposition.

I know a lot of Nigerian born current and ex SE players who all played in Europe all of them had dual citizenship.

Some of them were pillars in the SE. So you are saying that all those players are NOT LOYAL

Blah blah blah, you are talking about pretense and people's lifestyle

We are talking legality and identity, a person with one passport can pretend all he cares that doesn't change the fact that he is is totally Nigerian

A foreign born can speak as much local language but at the end of the day he is a citizen of different countries and will choose with which to identify

This is Phillip Billing's Wikipedia page, there was no single word 'Nigeria' written on it

But according to Komekn 'He is fully Nigerian'

I have never once in all my posts here mentioned Philip. Why not because he is not Nigerian but he has no identity with Nigeria.

I said that specifically about Ibe and Solanke.

That was a hard deviate from my question, Is Tammy Abraham disloyal for choosing England over Nigeria since he is 'fully Nigerian'?

I know governors and Chief Judges who have dual nationality.

So after serving the country for many decades you think in your small mindedness that they have not IDENTIFIED with Nigeria.

Look at yourself in the mirror then look in the dictionary for the word BIGOTRY that's you.

CHIDERA EJUKE IS A BETTER PLAYER THAN BUKAYO SAKA. HE IS ALSO A WINGER AND PLAYS FOR HEERENVEN IN THE DUCTH LEAGUE. WE DO NOT AND I REPEAT WE DO NOT NEED THESE FOREIGN BORN PLAYERS.
IN FACT CHIDERA EJUKE IS CALLED THE NIGERIAN INIESTA AS HE IS VERY SKILLFILL. WE NEED TO START APPRECIATING OUR HOME GROWN TALENTS IN OUR YOUTH COMPETITIONS AND ACADEMIES. IT IS RIDICULOUS SCRAMBLING FOR FOREIGN BASED PLAYERS. THEY SHOULD BE AN AFTER THOUGHT AND NOT THE MAIN THING
WE HAVE PLAYERS AS GOOD AS MBAPE IN LAGOS, POURT HARCOURT AND ABUJA BUT IN OUR STUPIDITY WE WILL REFUSE TO DEVELOP THEM

He plays in very well covered league although quite lowly in the context of Europe and a lower level team in the Eredivisie.

If he is as good as you say he is he playing in the Eredivisie.

He claims to be 21 and you are comparing him that just turned 18 last month that's causing waves and playing in the EPL for a top team.

It is clear that few years from now, the Super Eagles will be dominated by foreign born players of Nigerian descent. It is their era. Now in Iwobi, Aina, Ekong, Balogun, Aribo they are trickling into the SE. Five years from now it is Nigerian born players that would be few in number.

Those who detest foreign born players will have no choice but to surrender to the reality that will manifest then.

As for me, I am a SE fan. I owe no allegiance to Nigerian born or foreign born players. Once you don the jersey and you proof your worth, you are my player.

Instead of lobbying the NFF to come up with a development plan that will help our national team progress further we are here talking about calling up more foreign born players..
That's how we will keep calling up players every year and keep building the team with no result!
You aren't getting the point, we must harness our own resources but that doesn't stop us from calling any foreign born that is good enough, you people are talking like we've filled our team with halfcaste players

Ain't you people tired of going front and back? Why cry over a split milk? Tammy and Tomori are gone and gone for good. That's their choice and we must respect that. This in no way makes them less or more Nigerian than they were.

One thing we all know is that, everyday people make choices. Choice of where to settle down, choice of who to marry, choice of career path, choice of where to practice etc. These choices don't make them less human. We travel and migrate world over seeking happiness. We leave jobs, friends and sometime families but that doesn't stop us from recognizing/Affliating with those we've known in the course of our adventures.

The only thing we can do as a nation to whoever is affiliated to us is to show LOVE and not PAMPER. Our mistake so far has been our way of approaching these lads. We make them feel too important and go begging with caps in our hands thinking that being emotional will sway them to our side and this is turning the whole country into a joke.

Tammy and Tomori are not yet at Alaba's level yet dude regretted not waiting enough before joining the Austrian team. Fashanus, Nedum and Agbolahor chose the English side ahead of Nigeria and from experience have tried to offer the best of advice which is reasonable and acceptable for anyone to do. The consequence of the decision these guys made today will be seen and known tomorrow and they will face it all alone.

We all hope things turn out the best for them. As for us. I will advise we move on,put our house in order and have a system that attracts these guys rather than begging and trying to reap where we didn't sow.

Goodluck Tammy, Goodluck Tomori.

this your words...Mazi are flawed...
some english players damn good...
you can't take it from players that have been exposed to the best football academics in the world...... talent is not just enough training and development plays a vital role..
Keane is one of the most deadly striker in the world today and you can't argue that...
he is English and likewise their goal keepers....

please even if you wanna talk down English groomed players.....
the super eagles needs them...
save for Nigeria... England house more Nigeria origin players than any where else...

it is like a second home to Nigerians...and you won't say just because the folks happens to be born abroad the few ones that wanna play for us should be ignored....

I don't see anything bad in those two Chelsea players opting for the 3 lions, that won't stop us from getting as many lads from the English academics as we desire...
The truth is that football has changed so much. In the past all you needed was talent. Now football is a science. We are still frozen in the past and beyond the structural and infrastrctural problems bedevilling the local league, is the issue of lack of the touch of the finesse of modern football.

I like the old football of Maradona, Baggio, Gullit, Carlos, Yekini just as some people here like our local players but once the time comes for a certain trend of change to take effect, our personal love or attachment to the old ways don't matter much. At last you either embrace change or like Okonkwo in Things fall Apart, you will be cast aside.

The future of our football is in the hands of the foreign born players of Nigerian descent. They are the ones whose talent will have been honed by the science of modern football and therefore better equipped to carry the burden of representing Nigeria on the global stage. Nigerian born players will simply not be able to cope.

Osimhen and Chukwueze are coming in from the under 17 so they had the benefit of going to Europe at an early age. I mean true young age not football age. Most Nigerian players especially in the the local league would not get that opportunity of quality coaching early in their career.

That is the point he is making.

If NFF can be taken over by foreign born it may be better too. I see more passion from the foreign born than the home grown players. So I pause and ponder: who is more patriotic?

Exactly bro

I made this point last month.

We are crying....crying for what?

We didn't put our house in order and our NFF ogas are in trial for corruption cases

We underperformed in the WC 2018 and put up a NEPA-like performance at the just concluded AFCON.

We are not in top 30 FIFA ranking and yet with all this things and so many others, we want to attract highly rated, English born and bred boys to the Super Eagles....haba, it can't work na. They've gone and gone for good.

The lesson learnt here is that we shouldn't try to pressure any FB Nigerian to play for us before the Super Eagles loose respect. Its a decision everyone of them has to make on their own. SO that at least, we will know the truly patriotic ones

Your super eagles is made up of foreign born player. Remove all the foreign born and dual citizen players from the Super Eagles, what kind of team would you have now?

No Iwobi, Aina, Ekong, Ebuehi, Semi Ajayi, Balogun.

These players will continue to play an integral part of our future.
Foreign born players are the FUTURE.

I really don't understand the outcry by some against FB. Personally I don't think we should beg anyone to play for us. Once we make offer our hand and it is refused we move on. Like you said we gain some, we lose some but the fact is that they own the future of our football. Its only logical.

One time the NT was completely dominated by players from our local league. Thereafter with the likes of Keshi, Okwaraji, Ohenhen, Etim Esin, our players began to find their way to Europe and the NT selection shifted. Small time, the NT was dominated by Nigerian born players playing abroad.

Now guys we are on the cusp of a new transition. Like it or not, bewail the situation or celebrate it, doesn't matter. This is how it is most likely to be.
