This thing should be burnt down. Enough of this menace. Most are illegal immigrants and miscreants. Let them go back to where they are coming from. This is an environmental hazard.

Lagos should have a building plan and stop allowing all these unfenced face me I slap you houses.

Lagos has one of the best masterplan in the world. Residents build indiscriminately in the state and the ministry of lands tends to play politics though when the time is right and the government is ready to stick to the Master plan, Millions will have cry because each area has a purpose for it in the Master plan , there are area marked for religious activities, banks, manufacturing companies etc. Ajegunle for example, is the proposed site for world trade centre in Nigeria. As I said earlier, when the government decides to act, millions will cry!

Well, I was born in a place worse than this. My primary education was in that place. Today I am a graduate from one of the first generation federal universities.

The journey is far from palatable. But when your government fails you, try not to fail yourself. I am not where I need to be but I am definitely far from whence I started.

To everyone trying to weather the storm, may God be for you, a light when other lights have gone out. God's speed!!!

Your comment is touching. #GreatYouAre

feel free to check the video and tell me what you think about that short documentary !

You should do a voiceover on the documentary e.g. history & culture of Makoko, occupations, different communities, etc
Also feature some real ground area like the sawmill, shops, houses, typical recreational place/activities, interview old and young, male and female etc

Millions are just wasting there. That's not meant to be a slum, that's meant to be a large piece of real estate.

The fact that they used wood as it's foundation and it stretches down to the bottom of the lagoon that shows you that the location the slum is located is shallow, with a little sand filling that place u would get a good land from there. Then use it that build low cost high rise to accodate all the inhabitants, a win win situation for both the owners and the government

All I see is selfishness written all of you like a typical parasite.

Nothing is said on how to better the lives of those currently there... But how to profit greedily

The kind of people I share a country with though

Buildings in estate are regulated, so I believe same can be done elsewhere.

The East, a slum? Your brothers: the artisans( Carpenters, masons, iron benders) who come to the East to work, will testify! It's because you're glued to your SW: and you don't travel to other places to educate yourself! You're swimming in the ocean of ignorance!

I know the East like the back of my hand. The entire East is very tiny. Smaller than one of the Smallest States (Bayelsa) yet, it's under-developed. grin grin grin grin
