Well, that explains his absence altogether for today but he has not been featuring. The bench has become his home recently in France and it is not nice for his NT career. timay: 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd: No nice at all. If things doesn't improve, he better seek for a loan move by January. Afterall, Monaco is a king of Loaning players, so he won't have problems getting approval |

andrew444:You must be a very sentimental person. You just started reeling out our young players names as if they are basically in our first 11. Aside from Man city Chelsea has the best midfield in EPL Kante,Jorginho,Kovasic,Rueben loftus Check,Mount( who by the way has been a revelation so far and has 3 goals to his name already). The only players that can try would probably be Madison,Ben Chillwell and Vardy. Chelsea are unfortunate to have lots of unfit players but that doesn't mean that Leicester has a better team and you saying otherwise is just being sentimental. Sorry I wouldn't want to derail this thread. I rest my case. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Icon4s:Let me use your last line to press a point. The bolded right here is where the problem of our football stems from. Street football cannot fly in this era. Football is now an intellectual exercise. That's why academies have taken over. It is not for nothing that this era is tagged the era of the coaches. Many European greats like Puskas, Eusebio, Cruyff, etc honed their skills on the streets but as usual oyibo man will not rest and will keep refining the system. Thus from the mid 80s academies began popping up in this countries and now they are everywhere. Even Brazil does not rely on street anymore. Imagine going for a competition involving the intellect and just because in the past everybody brought street to the competition, you continue to do so even now while your competitors bring in people trained in academies. Omo dem go win una tire. I like street football oo, very much. I even prefer it but the reality is that that era is gone. 2 Likes |

Mujtahida: You are right. Especially now that football now has textbook like rules that you can't learn on the streets. You have to be in a proper academy to learn some of those rules. For instance, you won't learn on the streets that there is no Offside during throw in, but a proper academy will teach you. So as a street footballer defender, you might want to be keeping offside trap during a long throw scenario, but your opponent went into a position, and you think he's offside till he scores. This is just one of those numerous scenarios |

Heerenveen forward Chidera Ejuke who has been voted the best U21 player in the Netherlands for the month of September has hinted of his availability for Nigeria when the U23s take on the rest of Africa at the U23 Africa Cup of Nations for a spot in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. Ejuke has taken the league in the Netherlands by storm since his arrival in the summer from Norwegian side Valerenga with four goals to his name aside the title of having completed the most dribbles than any player in the Dutch top division. He is no doubt an integral player at the club and despite the U23 AFCON coming at the business end of the season, the 21 year old has hinted that he will be available if called up by coach Imama Amapakabo. ” I am sure we can work it out if I am called up. For now I have not received any invitation when it comes I am sure the news will be positive for all”, Ejuke told Owngoalnigeria.com. Nigeria is grouped alongside Ivory Coast, Zambia and South Africa in the group stages of the tournament which will take place in Egypt with the top three teams at the end of the tournament securing a spot to the football event of the 2020 Olympics. 1 Like |
