Most if the players too are also match rusty. The league has been off for how many months now

It is not match rustiness.

Most of these players have been involved with the under 23 and in continental competitions.

Nigeria loses to cape verde on penalties.

Imama is not the man to take Nigeria under 23 or the CHAN team forward.

Then it's either they are shitty or the coach is shitty. Either ways, our home based football is bleeped up. Damn
Local coaches are clueless and corruption madden, Local league players are now shitty too. Na Academy players get small hope now cos it now seems they are the ones getting signed by reasonable clubs abroad.

It seems Pinnick and his goons has destroyed our local football

If the best are in academy, why don't we just assemble academy boys instead of this tired old legs.

A minow (Togo) demoted us from cup competition. Another minow (Cape Verde) elimited us from plate competition at quarter final stage. Very very pathetic

Mujtahida:

Let me use your last line to press a point.

The bolded right here is where the problem of our football stems from. Street football cannot fly in this era. Football is now an intellectual exercise. That's why academies have taken over. It is not for nothing that this era is tagged the era of the coaches.

Many European greats like Puskas, Eusebio, Cruyff, etc honed their skills on the streets but as usual oyibo man will not rest and will keep refining the system. Thus from the mid 80s academies began popping up in this countries and now they are everywhere.

Even Brazil does not rely on street anymore.

Imagine going for a competition involving the intellect and just because in the past everybody brought street to the competition, you continue to do so even now while your competitors bring in people trained in academies. Omo dem go win una tire.

I like street football oo, very much. I even prefer it but the reality is that that era is gone.
I beg to differ. Street football is still very important in honing your skilled baller... Just like how most Brazilian footballers played/still play Futsal.
Normally our league teams should be doing a better job picking up these guys and polishing them up but you know what it is... They don't even have a link with our academies.

Moses Simon scores a late goal for Nantes. Might turn out to be the winning goal.

I believe in Nigerian born and bred players

That must be a very hard concept for you smiley

In otherwords you believe in bigoted discrimination and prejudice.

If you are the future of Nigeria, then the NATION IS DOOMED.

You will enthrone MEDIOCRITY over EXCELLENCE in the basis of were you were born.

Shockingly you might even be educated yet steeped in REGRESSIVE thinking.

Dude don't use ruler to check national team
selections

Invites are made with eyes towards the future

You have not answered this very simple question who are these outstanding RB 's.

Then your final proposition is ludicrous.

We should then loose our games play mediocre inexperienced and or poor quality players. Because we are waiting for them to become world beaters in the Future.

Football is always about the HEAR and NOW , what you can do NOW not in the FUTURE.
