You must be a very sentimental person. You just started reeling out our young players names as if they are basically in our first 11. Aside from Man city Chelsea has the best midfield in EPL Kante,Jorginho,Kovasic,Rueben loftus Check,Mount( who by the way has been a revelation so far and has 3 goals to his name already). The only players that can try would probably be Madison,Ben Chillwell and Vardy. Chelsea are unfortunate to have lots of unfit players but that doesn't mean that Leicester has a better team and you saying otherwise is just being sentimental.

Sorry I wouldn't want to derail this thread. I rest my case.
Tielemans. Add Tielemans to that list.

Most if the players too are also match rusty. The league has been off for how many months now
don't think they are, they've been playing various preseason games

I beg to differ. Street football is still very important in honing your skilled baller... Just like how most Brazilian footballers played/still play Futsal.
Normally our league teams should be doing a better job picking up these guys and polishing them up but you know what it is... They don't even have a link with our academies.
The point is that street football produces raw talent which is simply not just enough as far as certain aspects of the modern game is concerned.

So it's importance is waning by the day.

You are right.

Especially now that football now has textbook like rules that you can't learn on the streets. You have to be in a proper academy to learn some of those rules.

For instance, you won't learn on the streets that there is no Offside during throw in, but a proper academy will teach you. So as a street footballer defender, you might want to be keeping offside trap during a long throw scenario, but your opponent went into a position, and you think he's offside till he scores. This is just one of those numerous scenarios

Chiwell is better than Alonso and Emerson to me Sha. I'm yet to be fully convinced by both in a 4 man defence.

Nigeria international forward Moses Simon was once again the match winner for French Ligue 1 side Nantes as his well placed header earned them a 1-0 win over Nice, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.

The Nigerian took a vintage position in the box of Nice to head home what ended as the winner with five minutes left to play in the game where the win moved them up to second on the log.

Simon who is on a season long loan deal to Nantes from Laliga side Levante has already bettered his last season record where he found the back of the net once in 19 games, he has two in just seven games this season.

Known for his pace, skills and pin point crosses his somersault celebration has already won over the fans of Nantes who view the 24 year old as a player who can help them achieve their dream of playing in Europe next season.

That edge and craftiness you get from street football will always be important.
I remember one comment Wenger made about the lack of quality strikers coming through when we were looking for a replacement for that pipe Giroud... Something along of the lines of Europe not producing wc strikers because 'they play on nice pitches'.
That edge mixed up with what you'd get from an academy from say 15 upwards is important...

lol,u come off as cunny AF! Did the other guy insist or mention anyone being better than anyone? Perhaps u can read his writeup. I mentioned Chillwell as one of their bright talent. Never implied he was better than anyone so dont force words outa my mouth.

Those 2 are built for 3 at the back. Alonso Na confirmed pipe. Him no reach Chillwell.
Emerson is decent but not better than Chilwell... Well from what I've seen Sha.

This is why I said I like players whose skills were cooked on the streets and I have decried the aridity of modern football which for me is pass, pass pass. They have educated the flair out of the game. I don't like it but this is what the game has become.

I agree Sha. The modern game has become to mechanical. Pace and power seems to be back in vogue these days so it just might suit some African countries.
Many people turned up their noses at Mane when Man United and Arsenal were interested in him back then because he wasnt technically gifted enough but look at him now..
