I agree Tiwa Savage is poor but Yemi Alade is worse. What saved Yemi's ass was aggressive pr and realizing that most of trashy singles after Johnny won't get her far.

Which made her to take her music to other African countries especially the francophone countries (she started singing some already released songs in French)... This is why she calls herself mama africa and it's working for her.....

Tiwa Savage on the other hand doesn't even know what works for her yet.... All she does is jump on whatever is trending at the moment to stay afloat (The reason why she came out with 49-99 was because Burna boy was owning the stage with afrobeats but it was woeful).

But for one trashy Tiwa song, I will give you half a dozen trashy songs from Yemi Alade...

Her music reaches a wider audience than any female from Nigeria according to the numbers. Performance wise, she's topping too with yours around the globe. Her collaboration on the Beyonce album, her Rick Ross feature, etc has her gaining more international recognition everyday.

She may not be a perfect representative for the Grammys but it's a good thing she's representing the country with her music and her song meets the criteria for a nod.

Same goes with Genevieve's 'Lion heart' for the academys. Support your fellow compatriots

Trash! Yemi Alade is a trashy artist even for 'Nigerian Standards.' 98% of her Music is incoherent gibberish. Apart from her early singles 'Ghen Ghen Love' and 'Johnny' her songs come across as boring garbage that I wouldn't listen to twice, unless I was paid to do so.

I thought the same too on lion heart hyping and blowing on Netflix. There is nothing spectacular about that movie and getting it on Oscar is just for PR to africa from Oscar.
