Do not use Antiseptics.

You have my kind of skin, I have used everything, I was at Dermatological centre and they told me, I have a sensitive skin it is more like psoriasis.

I have used anything you can think of, Fulcin, prednisolone, Vitamin E, Fulcat, GLUTAMAX. I was told at yaba centre to use Nizoral Shampoo, Sebamed Body Milk, Sebamed face and body wash, Lamisil this worked for sometime then I guess they grew resistance to it.

I met a doctor once and he said just leave this country.

The only thing they said which agree with is that excessive use of antiseptics and other creams damages the skin pH which in turn create an enabling environment for this to grow.

I have had this since secondary school thats over 21years. Though they reduce at times and resurfaces again. My back, stomach, chest, neck and face.

If you have direct experience and solution I dont mind.

Go to a teaching hospital or medical centre.

You will be seen by a doctor (general practitioner )there who will take a detailed history, examine you properly, make a diagnosis and refer you to a dermatologist(a skin doctor)

Stop going to quacks and seeking treatment online.

I don't understand the problem Nigerians have with going to hospitals and seeing a qualified doctor(specialist)
the reason is that i didnt take it seriously until recently....i will do that.

I had this thing for over 7 years. Even as at 2017 I was having this issue. Mine was not just my face, even my chest and my back were infected. Sometimes when I walk under the sun all my body would start itching.

Just like you I went to pharmacis I bought drugs, but some did not work and even the ones that worked where not permanen

I finally found something that worked for me. Dettol skincare soap and Nivea men cream. Till today I still use them and the issue is as good as gone. Bath at least twice daily with that soap. Bath 3 times if you sweat a lot. Try a lot to look for that Nivea cream. If you can't, find a good cream that can keep your face. Vaseline might be okay sef, but try to look for the Nivea cream.

Trust me in 2 weeks that thing will redu

I hope you get this
u just described it exactly, especially the part about the itching under the sun, just that the discoloration is only present on my face....is the nivea cream scarce?

If you leave in Lagos go to the dermatology centre of LUTH in yaba area almost behind Yaba psychiatric Hospital, all the Okada riders in Yaba knows the place. They are the best in the country even though the place looks so uninviting but i promise you you will get the best treatment. They will carry out patch test on you before the real treatment will start.

If you want to please wake up early because the place is alway crowded.

Best of Luck!
do u have any idea how much it will estimatedly cost me or have you gone there before.

The eczema is already in your blooddtream. When it enters your blood it becomes very difficult to fight. You need to find a way to buy the American version of FULCIN. They are very small tablets and you take them 1-1 that is one tablet, once a day everyday for a month. It will slowly kill the eczema in your bloodstream permanently. Goodluck.
do you gave any idea where i can get it around lagos or enugu and how much it costs?

I have taken my daughter there before and i was astonished at the rate of treatment and it went well, the cost depends on what type of drugs will be recommended for you.

But if they have the drugs it will be cheap buy if not there is a chemist opposite the hospital but a bit high.

My advice is that you should go there first and you will pay consultancy fee of 1000 naira only.

just go first i have a strong believe that they will solve your problem,

Good luck
Let me add that i PROMISE to give you some token to complement your drug money IF eventually you visit them and drugs are written for you.

May Allah see you thru.

Cannot see it clearly, but looks like signs of puberty...

Looks more like acne, have you tried creams like acnecide?....

Blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, cysts etc etc Teens get acne because of the hormonal changes that come with puberty. Did your parents have acne, in their kid days?.....?

You're maturing and developing. Your hormones stimulate the sebaceous glands to make more sebum........... No go grab girl and chop am raw o....... grin
can i still be having signs of puberty at 20?

Please dont mind all these Doctors in the House, avoid self medication because there are over 100 if not more known skin diseases and they vary from person to person, i have told you go to LUTH DERMATOLOGY CENTER around yaba area and let the people trained on the matter attend to you.

a word is enough for the wise.
will do that after my exams thanks.

Visit a teaching hospital and get a dermatologist to look it. However you have to prepared that it may have to learn to live with it. Dry skin conditions can be stubborn attimes. Some medications may help, some may keep the flakiness and dryness at bay. Some may be steroids which will actually destroy your skin overtime so you have to be very careful of what you use on your face.

Your best bet is to get a moisturising face lotion or cream. Diluted glycerin works well too plus it is also cheap. You can use either till you get an appointment. Manage it and don't think about it.

i will go to the luth during the holidays but is it still okay to moisturize because i have very oily skin, the reason why i dont use cream on my face.

Re: I Have A Skin Problem, Please Advise by Sterope(f): 4:56pm On Oct 07, 2019
That is not true.

Some dry skin conditions are not caused by fungi. Fungal infection that causes dry skin conditions is not spread through contact. Also, there is varying degree of severity, what works for you may not work for another person.

Dettol is anti bacterial not anti fungal. When you overuse anti bacterial, you put yourself at risk of antibiotic resistance.

Re: I Have A Skin Problem, Please Advise by Sterope(f): 4:58pm On Oct 07, 2019
Just use a little moisturiser. Don't dry your face after a shower or a face wash, let it air dry but not very dry before you add your moisturiser.

Please unless there you have done a lab test to confirm a fungal infection, don't use any prescribed medication.

People outside the country including new born babies also get Psoriasis and the rest of them.

Antiseptic has always been a bad option anyways.

Moisturisers and diluted glycerin work wonders. The ordinary Niacinamide +Zinc works too but may or may not be expensive for you.n

I think it is ok to seek advice online since there are doctors online. But ultimately, the best advice for a serious skin condition is a referral to a very good dermatologist, because in this country we cannot assume that every doctor is competent and sincere.
