Danielnino00: There should be one consideration only ABILITY in the HERE & NOW in the context of consistent continuous outstanding performances for league and club. The emotive and sentiment based preference for players on the basis of youth glories is simply irrational and has no substance with regard to invitation to the SE. This convoluted concept of allegiance and loyalty to Nigeria is nonsensical. If Nigerian players born and bred in Nigeria could change allegiance to another country that would result in lucrative football contracts , DO YOU THINK ANY OF THEM will choose Nigeria when millions of £££$$$$ is involved. Most will tear thier 9ja passport and opt not too return. Please wake up and stop being super delusional about this idea of allegiance to the nation. 1 Like |

Calling up a player and talking to get them to switch allegiance are two different things. Any player that is called up at youth level and does not commit to Nigeria should be left to explore his other options. Earthquake1: |

I didn’t join this discussion from the beginning so I may be lost. But let’s not be too sentimental. Eze was called up to a get together by Rohr and he honored it. Why did England still invite him after then? Earthquake1: |

Joebie: He even accepted U20 invitation, how do we know that Eze wants to play for us We saw how Abraham used a Nigerian invite to hassle English FA, Adarabioyo is testing out Nigerian jerseys, Sheyi Ojo has pledged to Nigeria What has Eze done to show we are not in a wild goose chase |

Earthquake1: Tomori was not invited officially just speculation , we waited for him to blow then we remembered him, that's why dem say "know me when i'm poor" What prevents the NFF from inviting all these outstanding promising players 6/7 of them give them a sense of belonging , understand invitation is not selection, if they prove themselves then SELECTION. Come the January window if Eze get taken up by Southampton or anybody else in the EPL then we will suddenly remember him. WRONG APPROACH |

komekn:bro, I don't have time for long talk, we both know that tomori is just trying to save face. Let him focus on his England career and leave us in peace. We are no more interested in his fabricated narrative, he should move on with his 5 caps for England. |

Humility017: U aren't making any sense .. U think an academy like diamond academy where Chukwueze came from aren't investing again to discover another Chukwueze? Or Taiye academy in Owerri where Iheanacho came from have closed down? What about GBS academy that produced Samuel Kalu and Moses Simon? Grooming players is the same thing as running a business... U can't expect to reap the benefits immediately... it will take time..Make u relax. It seems like nothing satisfy u again... |

rohr and the nff approached tomori prior to the last afcon and he said he still need time to make his decision and as of then his heart was set on representing england at the euro u21 championship. tammy long ago have settled his mind on playing for england but the same can't be said of tomori who never knew that his rise to chelsea first team would have been sudden which made him thought it will be difficult breaking into the 3 lions squad. he jumped to the chance of playing for the 3 lions after impressing in few games this season, moreover england have always been his first choice but he didn't know the invite will be soon Earthquake1: 1 Like |

Abraham Vows To Cement England Place 0 October 8, 2019 4:14 pm Tammy Abraham today vowed the time has come to establish himself as an Englandregular. The 22-year-old joined up with Gareth Southgate’s squad at St George’s Park yesterday after scoring his ninth goal in 11 games for Chelsea as the Blues eased to a 4-1 win over Southampton. Abraham’s call-up for the forthcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Bulgaria comes almost two years after his only previous senior appearances in friendlies against Germany and Spain in November 2017. Abraham lasted an hour of the first game and just 15 minutes of the second as two experimental Southgate sides earned successive goalless draws. He was on loan at Swansea at the time but after a subsequent spell at Aston Villa last term – where he scored 25 goals in a promotion-winning season – Abraham believes is has matured to seize any opportunity given to him over the next seven days. “Back then in 2017, it was all about me being young,” he told Standard Sport. “It was a good experience, for me. So, to be going back now, I had my experiences out on loan, I’m back and now it’s time to stay here. “For me, it’s a massive achievement [to be in the squad]. I’m clearly doing something right for my club to get attention from Gareth Southgate. It’s about going out there, helping the team as much as possible. And then coming back in and doing the same job for my team.” Abraham remains eligible to play for Nigeria – the country of his father’s birth – having not played a competitive senior game for England in his career to date. Abraham’s father is close friends with president of the Nigerian Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, and manager Gernot Rohr had made little secret of his desire to convince the striker to switch allegiances. Abraham insisted the subject had not come up during his initial discussions with Southgate, although in his mind that debate now appears to be settled once and for all. “I haven’t spoken to him about that,” said Abraham. “I’m a player growing up in England, playing in the Premier League. My ambitions were always to play for England. Obviously it’s nice to be wanted by two nations, two nations that I love. But my main focus is England.” |

komekn: What do u mean by Tomori's invite wasn't official? The NFF approached him and he said we should give him time... Is it until we announce it to the whole world before u will agree that there was an official approach for him? That was how u said Pinnick never meet with Tammy Abraham in London and that Tammy never turned us down.. 8 Likes |
