The universe occurs for no tangible reason but it is what it is today due to constant struggle by all species to survive and keep their offspring growing. Evolution makes all surviving instinct work for many species, development of certain attributes for protection or gaining an edge over another species. For human beings it took another dimension in the sense that instead of developing physical attribute to help him survive, he went ahead to develop mental superiority over all species. Human beings is the only species to have make an attempt to cross it limits into another planet and he succeeded in doing that. Am not evolution expert but i suppose evolution cannot be influenced by any individuals species but through collective transmission of thought. I could put it this way that evolution is independent of any individual species but must be collective progress all members of the group. The only weakness of all species is death, but what if the stages of evolution as gone past the level of death and its no longer a threat to universe survival? What if death is another step to evolve into the next stages of life? In generation to come, the whole solar system will be gone, which implies death to every thing, but why should all perish when evolution has kept everything to survive? If evolution is through from the beginning, then death is the next phase. After life has no proof due to *no witness* but we can hold some experiences as a clue. Science has failed to solve the problem of death, diseases, sickness which are common to all. Science cannot solve all problems, but in a gradual process nature will fix itself, which may require giving up this polluted world that causes death, sickness and disease , at the end a new world or universe will evolve or must have evolved giving chance to dead to migrate into it as occupant. If we should go by evolution, this is not the end. |

FreelanceRebel: Evolution does not always benefit the group thats why species die out, they reached an evolutionary dead end. You think the universe will evolve into a better state? Are you aware that the sun is projected to engulf the Earth in a few billion years and that the Andromeda galaxy is going to crash into ours in the same time frame? Where then are you getting this idea that the universe is going to evolve into a better state? 1 Like 1 Share |

LordReed: From my understanding of cyclic theory of multiverse, there is an infinite, and self sustaining big bang, big crunch and big freeze. Even when all you stated happens, it returns again and again and again till eternity. Yoruba spirituality talks about multiverse, and tag it ajule orun where Ori is. It explains our reality as the mirror of what happens in ajule orun. |

LordReed: According to evolution theory, billions years ago creatures are not near beautiful as we see it today, how come they develop to reach what they are today? Developing from a micro-substance into full gender specific beings with no one to explain its predetermination show all indication that nature that is beyond human understanding will evolved into something better. Formation of offspring start from liquid then it vaporize in the grave overtime. That is evolution from state to state. It will self centered to claim only the living being under goes evolution and developed into more complex being, while the mother of all which is Nature remain redundant and refuses to develop. |

FreelanceRebel: The theory of evolution says nothing about the beauty of creatures that is entirely your subjective evaluation. It is self deception to claim your intuition has the same validity as rigorous scientific investigation. That you intuit that all things undergo a beauty transformative evolution does not establish it as fact. Get me some facts that is what I am interested in. 4 Likes 3 Shares |

Re: A True Atheist Or Sceptic Will Believe In Afterlife by Nobody: 8:45pm On Oct 08, 2019 |
LordReed: Exactly same as the before life. Have you ever die? Do you have any consciousness or awareness when you are in the womb? Stone, rock, water, etc these things don't die they stay forever. But Human beings die, why can't they live forever? The answer is simple, death cause them to evolve into another reality |

FreelanceRebel:Sure about this? You say survival instincts in the evolutionary sense as if it is a deliberate things on the part of these species. Evolution is most accidental and rarely beneficial to the species. Okay.
This is the major flaw on this post, a false assumption on the evolutionary mechanism. Mutation which is the key factor in evolution is random, spontaneous and mostly harmful. Evolution doesn't take the collective progress of all members, it takes the mutation of only one member. A single member of an organism develops a trait that can be transferred to its offsprings, this trait may prove useful or harmful subsequently due to natural selection. You are assuming the purpose of evolution is to ensure species survive, thats an untrue assumption. Like I mentioned before, Mutation is mostly harmful and mostly prove detrimental to the specie involved. We then have to define what life is, what it means to be alive, how we are alive. Because for death to be a next step brings mind - body dualism into the equation. Evolutionary purpose isn't about species surviving. it is a random dangerous road that prove extremely fatal to most species and seldom advantageous resulting to survival of the lucky species. what experiences? That is the purpose of medical science. To make humans live as long as possible and i say it is damn successful. there is no time in history that humans comfortably live as long as they do now. Would this improve? Certainly given time. The reason why there is science is because there are unanswered questions, science won't exist in a world that knows it all. You won't try to know what you already know. Science cannot solve all problems,That is why science exist in the first place. Untrue. the true nature of this universe races it towards entropy. in other words, the universe is gradually racing towards destruction. The dead? How? What is the nature of these dead people? |

FreelanceRebel:You must have not seen anyone die. If you had, you'd know that when you die we the living will put your dead body inside a box, put the box inside a hole and cover you up with soil where your dead body will be eaten by worms and evolve into the dust of the earth. And in case you mention a soul. You did not have one till you got a body for it to be in and you won't have one once you die. |

The dead? How? What is the nature of these dead people? Its not for us to know which is certain. In this picture below, if you are to ask #2 how the future #3, #4 or #5 looks like would he have answer correctly? I was just wondering why death is not by selection |

Re: A True Atheist Or Sceptic Will Believe In Afterlife by johnydon22(m): 9:39pm On Oct 09, 2019 |
jamesid29:LOL. Listen closely "Mutation which is the key factor in evolution is random, spontaneous and mostly harmful. Evolution doesn't take the collective progress of all members, it takes the mutation of only one member." Do you understand how evolution by natural selection works? |
Re: A True Atheist Or Sceptic Will Believe In Afterlife by jamesid29(m): 10:37pm On Oct 09, 2019 |
johnydon22:I actually do sir, that's why I pointed it out. You can Google around to fact check. ( Just to be clear sir, population in evolutionary biology doesn't mean every single member of a specie). I think this is a fairly good description of evolution in the biological sense (though not without it's fault): Evolution occurs when new gene variants (i.e alleles) are produced by random mutation, and over the course of many generations, natural selection may favor advantageous variants, causing them to become more common in the population.... . The statement "Populations evolve, individual organism do not" is basically beaten into your head when u first begin to learn evolution by natural selection. |

Niflheim: I am an atheist and I don't agree with this. I simply lack belief. Meaning gods could well exist but at this present time based on information available to me, I don't believe it. Saying God does not exist is for me claiming to know something no one really knows. |
Re: A True Atheist Or Sceptic Will Believe In Afterlife by johnydon22(m): 8:57am On Oct 10, 2019 |
jamesid29:I think we are still saying the same thing. Mutation starts not with the whole specie but with one since it is a transferable traits to offsprings it gets more and more dominant in proceeding generations. Read the comment again: Evolution doesn't take the collective progress of all members, it takes the mutation of only one member. A single member of an organism develops a trait that can be transferred to its offsprings, this trait may prove useful or harmful subsequently due to natural selection. Doesn't say a single organism evolves, says Mutation |
Re: A True Atheist Or Sceptic Will Believe In Afterlife by jamesid29(m): 2:50pm On Oct 10, 2019 |
johnydon22:The key misunderstanding is thinking that the mutation in just one organism is enough to affect the gene pool of a population. This only happens if this mutation is artificially selected for by external intelligence (I.e humans) or you have a population size that is very very small due to extinction, in which case there most likely won't be enough time for evolution to occur. The one organism mutating examples are only used for illustration purposes because it's alot easier to conceptualize but in the real world that's not how it works. Some Key points to note °There's usually variations within a population ( I.e some individuals have blue wings rather than the regular black ) °If the variation is advantageous, individuals with this new variant are more likely to pass it on to more offsprings than their other counterparts, thereby increasing it's frequency in the gene pool of the population. °In the course of generations, this advantageous variation becomes more common within the population. This is when you say evolution has occurred. It's usually not as cut and dry as this but that's the basic idea. The view that evolution starts with just a single organism mutating is not correct. Evolution doesn't take the collective progress of all membersAgain sir, this is not what a population means in biology. °Natural selection acts on populations and not individuals |

(Philosophy) a person who habitually doubts the authenticity of accepted beliefs 2. a person who mistrusts people, ideas, etc, in general 3. (Philosophy) a person who doubts the truth of religion, esp Christianity |
