What's happening with the Kurds Erdogan on odd days is all fired up as a champion of Ummah criticising harmless preventive measures like comms blackout and preventive arrests to curtail jihadis, calling it repression against Muslims. Erdogan on even days as a champion of Ummah has no problem conducting aerial strikes , artillery barrages on fellow Muslims. So much for selective sympathy for co-religionists The ironies of the champions of Ummah And the biggest irony there are 2 countries who r self appointed champions of Ummah and their solution to problems with people of their same faith is eerily similar - large scale bombing of their own 2 Likes 1 Share

Origins Of Stealth Black Hawks Date Back Over Three Decades Before The Bin Laden Raid There are few defense or aviation stories as enigmatic as the mystery surrounding the highly modified H-60 Black Hawks that were used during the operation to capture or kill Osama Bin Laden. Most remain perplexed that the helicopters not only emerged out of virtually nowhere, but that they also disappeared back into the deeply classified world even after becoming a very publicly known component of the historic raid. Although there are various claims as to their origins and the timeline of their development, in this War Zone feature, we have official documentation that clearly shows the development of a stealthy Black Hawk began way farther back than anyone has claimed. https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/25890/origins-of-stealth-black-hawks-date-back-over-33-years-before-the-bin-laden-raid 1 Like |

Odunayaw: Anyways A Soviet mathematician in the 50s or 60s wrote equations which became the basis for designing stealth aircrafts ( shaping ) As for stealth materials in aircrafts , the Nazis pioneered it Rest copied the above 2 and improved on it or rather implemented new technologies as it became available with new discoveries |

Nice Goggles These r specially made optical gear designed to protect the pilots and crew of nuclear delivery aircrafts from the thermal flash of a nuclear explosion which is potent enough to blind a human even when viewed directly or indirectly far away from the blast point. 4 Likes 1 Share

Odunayaw: It is kind of interesting to know that there is nothing absolute in science when it comes to replicating natural phenomena in practice. Eg cooling upto absolute zero is not practically possible Speeding upto speed of light is not practically possible Viewing the sub atomic realm with absolute certainty / accuracy is not possible 100% energy conversion is not practically possible Have a absolute black body or white body which absorbs all incident frequencies or reflects all incident frequencies is not practically possible As a cororally absolute stealth is also not possible by a single means but a combination of them might reduce the RCS considerably yet cannot make it absolute zero. Anyways stealth in aircrafts are generally implemented through 1. Stealth shaping to reflect waves away from emitter 2. RAM radar absorbing materials which goes on the surface 3. RAS radar absorbing structure which r used to build the portions of exposed fuselage where RAM cannot be applied 4. Active cancellation of EM waves like in the spectra suite of rafale which allegedly involves analysing the incident waves and reproducing them but out of phase and beaming them back which leads to no blip ( echo ) in the radar console. Other classified measures to reduce RCS might be there 2 Likes 1 Share |

Jimi24: Social media is relevant in social media only. Especially propaganda be it by any country . It's like trying to hold sand untill it runs out eventually. Any weapon system is not absolute. Meaning a weapon system is worth it only if exploited to its full potential. And that is a big unknown since it depends on myriad of interconnected factors especially the human factor. Let's say I buy u the best knife in the market and then pit u against a knife fighter armed with a ordinary knife . Can u guarantee u will win ? What i mean to say is a weapon system is as good as it's user. If the user can use it to the best of his or her capabilities then the system will be potent otherwise not. 1 Like |

nemesis8u: I see this itens for the fist time. Flying close to a nuclear blast the aircraft must be 100% EMP hardened, otherwise the electromagnetic radiation of the shockwave will damage all electronic systems on board. 2 Likes 1 Share |
Re: Technical Discussions On International Military Equipments Doctrines Tactics Etc by Nobody: 5:12pm On Oct 13, 2019 |
SuperSixSeven: By the time the bomb explodes at the predetermined altitude , the delivery aircraft is beyond the periphery of the pressure and shock zone which can damage the aircraft. As for the EMP release it's scale is generally determined by the altitude at which the nuke exploded and wheather it is a fission based or thermonuclear device .( Fission devices r better at producing EMP ) If the aircraft dives below the blast altitude or goes behind a geographical feature like a mountain or valley etc it will be immune to some extent provided he has requisite horizontal / vertical distance from the blast point. And rest any spillover EMP can be negated by the dedicated electronic hardening over and above the normal EMC/EMI ratings. EMP hardening to ensure survival of aircraft close to blast point and in direct visual line is not practical . It will make the aircraft very heavy Only airforce one type aircrafts r rated to survive in the immediate vicinity of the deadly E1 EM pulse. But the thing is nothing can be guaranteed for sure 2 Likes 1 Share |

nemesis8u: So EMPs would ( in theoretically) still make a good offensive/defensive weapon against air targets. [picture below] The USAF tested a couple of air frames an their ATLAS-I test facility at Kirtland AFB, simulating a EMP pulse by 2 Marx generators. It is a 12 story wooden structure till date the biggest in the world.

SuperSixSeven: Yes not only air but ground targets also. EMP weapons r primarily for ground targets. Eg Drdo is working on EMP bombs for its PGMs like SAAW with the aim to disable an entire airfields electronic / electrical infrastructure before kinetic attack follows through Americans Russians Israelis already have conventional EMP bombs While some of the P5 countries might have specialised nuclear based EMP bombs 1 Like |
