Good day family and how is the push towards actualizing our Canadian dream? It will all end in Praise for all of us.
Please house,i need your help in clarifying an issue about WES in regards their latest requirement of not asking for WAEC/NECO compulsorily again.I got an information that one can remove a document that was previously added if you are yet to submit that document and in our own case, its my wife's NECO that i want to remove because i have sent in her degree but not done anything in regards the NECO yet so i want to confirm from this family of sharp brains if its possible to remove her NECO and how it can be done since WES can now evaluate without NECO or WAEC.
Please help a brother out so we can go past this ECA thing and move to the next level please, thank you.

Family of 5

I know this sounds like a broken record now, but I never wanted to leave abroad on a permanent basis. I have always been team visit and come back home. After we got married, my husband subtly kept pushing for it but I wasn’t interested.
My tipping point was when I watched the commonwealth games in 2018, saw how beautiful Australia was and most importantly, how even the physically challenged kids were given a chance to be whatever they wanted in a thriving society. It triggered something innate with me and I told my husband I was ready.
ECA
My husband (PA) had a very smooth ride with his. Nnamdi Azikiwe University and LBS were pretty quick. FUTO wanted to delay my destiny but the God I served finally touched them to let me go after my husband had to physically go to my school to get the transcript sent. It was a terrible 5 month unnecessary wait.
IELTS
BC first attempt, IDP second and third attempt. I was so excited when we eventually cleared it in December.

ITA
Missed the January 10th draws (E pain me sha), clinched on the 23rd. Had our medicals at Q Life on the 13th of March.
WORK EXPERIENCE
So, we applied as Self Employed Applicants. My husband is the sole signatory to the account. The following documents are what we submitted for this purpose:
- All our CAC Documents
- The FIRS Tax Registration Document(The paper you are given when you register for FIRS TIN number)
- LIRS Tax Documents ( my husband updated his LIRS tax payments)
- Screenshot of our website
- Screenshot of our Social Media Pages ( Instagram, Facebook, Twitter)
- Screenshot of my husband’s LinkedIn page
- Invoices and receipts from customers(about 4 each over a 5 year period)
- Supplier Invoices and Receipts(about 4 each over a 5 year period)
- Screenshot of emails exchanged with clients
- References from Customers ( about 4 in total)
We didn’t submit our company bank statements (This was done with fear and trembling and I actually expected an ADR for it, but we were not asked for it)
NOC
Ours was pretty straight forward, NOC 0124 because that is my husband’s core function as the CEO. We didn’t list our duties anywhere, I guess the VO was satisfied with all the documents we submitted.
PROOF OF FUNDS
Now this was the major tricky part for me. We are a business that needs money constantly to run, we could not afford to pull out all the money for a family of 5 POF. So we got a gift deed from my mum for the full amount a day before we submitted. So we submitted the following:
- Notarised Gift deed signed by my mum and dad, witnessed by my husband and I. We scanned it to them after typing they signed and scanned back to us. We signed and notarised it at the high court Igbosere.
- Screenshot of Oanda with exchange rate for the day;
- A one paged bank statement showing the day the money came into his account.
That was all. I was really worried, not sure of this would fly, but we had the money on standby in case they required proof it was still available.
MEDICALS
This was done at Q-life March 12th or so. We wanted it done close to our submission date.

BIL
Got a ghost update for Med Pass/BIL when I just randomly checked our account. We got the mail later in the night.
We went for biometrics and spent 5 hours there, good thing was that it showed completed on that same day.
WAITING GAME
I checked our account twice a day, every day. As soon as they resume and as soon as they are about to close.
Raised a CSE but didn’t get a response.
Tempted to call sooooo many times, but held myself back.
I even wanted to mail Ralph, I just told myself I would save that card for a later time.
UPDATE
Ended up calling once, raised CSE thrice. I got two generic responses and one actual response that let me know my background was in process on June 28th.
We are still waiting for PPR, I always believed we would clinch it 3 months post AOR (everyone thinks this, lol). It happens for some, while it does not happen for some like me who is still waiting.
We are still waiting on the Lord and I will keep updating this as I remember. I have never been a patient human, this wait has sent me to different ends of the emotional spectrum. From feeling Zen and all at peace for days and randomly getting stressed and worried about my application ,trying to concoct what documents I should submit to speed up the process.
Toddles!

30-07-2019
We are now 218 members in our PPR group
01-09-2019
Baba GOD AM I YOUR ADOPTED CHILD!!!
18-09-2019
I am sick of this wait though, this was not the plan.
24-09-2019
I cave din and sent Ralph an email. He responded same day with Criminality passed, Eligibility and Security not yet started. I quickly rebuked his response and declared it was not for me.
25-09-2019
I have sent a total of 8 Web forms. During this time, progress has gone from background in process/eligibility not started to background in process/eligibility in process.
27-09-2019
Attended night of increase in my church, this year was really one kain, so I just left it all at the altar of God and asked Him to do loads of new things in my life. The Holy Spirit said I should go home and cry no more.
08-10-2019
We caught a ghost update. Yay!!! Progress.
09-10-2019
Refreshed email tire, I no see anything. Continued downloading my Jenifas Diary and slept off mid process. My husband woke me up at 4:30am showing me the email.
Saying I was ecstatic is an understatement. I was dazed for a few hours, in shock at what God has finally done.
This group helped me immensely, read from part 1 and caught up at Part 5. I learned about all the documents we will need to submit from here too! Thank you so much.
Shout out to the best group in the world Feb/Mar AOR. You all are the best and we will celebrate big time soon with everyone.
Now the journey begins.

People are getting MEP/BIL faster these days. Immitracker is showing people receiving it in 2-3 weeks as opposed to 40-45 days that most of us are used to.
It will come don't worry.

Drahl:

The books I used are:
1.Barron's for IELTS(It is good for reading and has three model tests but it is not ideal for listening probably that was why I failed listening twice)
2.Official IELTS practice materials(It's the conventional red book sold by British council but it has two model tests on reading that are very resourceful).

Online resources:
Road to IELTS(You can only access this when you book with BC and it has two model tests.
I also combined it with MOD reading model tests.
I wouldnt advice using ieltsonlinetests.com(it's too easy),I would recommend mini-ielts.com(it's very very good). [my opinion]
I also used Cambridge academic reading. It is very hard but it will make the actual reading on test day feel like cereals.
There's also a Japanese lady called Toneka(that lady is ingenious, infact, I love her). She has a video where she answered ielts reading and showed all the tricks.you can search for her on youtube. You might find her boring and her English is not too coherent and fluent, but trust me,she is very good.

MY ADVICE AND STRATEGIES:.
1. Don't go beyond the word count limit.no more than two words means maximum of two words.
2.Write all answers in block letters, that way you won't forget to capitalize a proper noun.
3.Time Management:
passage 1 is 13 questions.passage 2 is 14Q. passage 3 is 13Q.
Passage 1 is the easiest and passage 3 is the hardest.I recommend 15mins for P1(or less),15mins for P2,at least 30mins for P3.When you do practice tests, ensure you time yourself so that you don't go overboard.it is imperative.
4.When I get my question booklet,I DONT read the passages, you will be wasting valuable time.Go straight to the questions,For me i read 4 questions once, then i underline the keywords and circle some and replace them with two synonyms,I then go back to the passage and find the answers.Quickly finding answers is a skill that takes time to build.Taking 4Q once helps you save time because in the bid of finding the answer to number 2,you might find the answer to number 3 or 4.(this is better than one question at a time).secondly, the questions in section 1 and 2 are chronological(if you found the answer to number 7 and you cant find the answer to number 6,most probably, the answer to 6 is just above number 7)[this doesnt apply in passage 3].
5. For matching headline with paragraph:you dont need to read the entire paragraph.Read only the first two sentences, the topic sentence is always there. This is enough to summarize the paragraph. If you cant still match it because the information is not enough, read the last sentence(it will contain the summary).I think sometimes(rare cases) they put the summary in the middle. Also, sometimes a paragraph may have quotation marks expressing the speakers thought, that is all you need to read to match it.Another thing i do is;I look at the list of headings and rewrite them with my own words.
for instance,a heading like 'the robots main function'......I replace 'main' with synonyms like primary or key.....i replace 'function' with importance, use or purpose. That way, when i read the first 2 sentences of the passage, the answers are staring at me brightly.
6.For T/F/NG..Most people tend to answer these question based on their knowledge(it is WRONG)If the passage says the capital of Nigeria is Paris, then the capital of Nigeria is Paris.dont infer or deduce.
Passage:Baron pierre de coubertin, the founder of modern olympics aim was to bring together, once every four years, athletes from all countries on the friendly fields of amateur sport.
question:only amateur athletes are allowed to compete in the modern olympics.
answer:NOT GIVEN

Here's another one:John jumped from the 8th floor of UBA house.
question:john died as a result of the fall
Answer:NOT GIVEN(even though we know john would die but it wasnt mentioned in the passage).

Passage: The architectural design of the building is shoe-box shaped.
question :the building has a shoe-shaped design
answer:FALSE

7. It is good to circle peoples name(Xerxes, Einstein), dates, countries, cities etc.For instance, a passage might say 50 years ago,if you focus on 50 years in the passage, you might not see your answer.what i would do is to look for synonyms like 'half a century' or '5 decades ago'.this technique also works for 'SENTENCE COMPLETION' and 'FLOWCHART' questions.
Also, in sentence completion, use ONLY words used in the passage. Dont change the form of the word(if its simple present , write simple present)and the sentence must be grammatically correct with the word/words you have chosen.
8.Learn to practice skimming and scanning:quickly look for key information and quickly read for the main idea.
9.Lastly, I always underline key points on all the passages and find appropriate synonyms to replace them except the ones that cannot be replaced(I think you should because it saves time and you will find the answers easily).{my question paper always looks like a baby learning how to scribble...plenty jaga jaga because na so so underline and circles full my question booklet}

I think the easiest module on the IELTS is reading[my opinion] because the answers are staring at you,all you need to do is search for them.unlike listening, where if you dont hear the word it is finished. These are the tips i have applied.
Lastly, i save 5-8mins to go over my answers.

Disclaimer:There might be better ways to ace the reading module but these are strategies that I have used.

I really appreciate your detailed response. Pls can I get your email. I need help on nailing ielts @ first attempt

Any helpers?

Pwinkle1:
Hello,

Please I really need some help:

I was initially in the pool, but then I updated my NOC without updating my primary NOC and then my profile became ineligible.

I went ahead to create a totally new profile, but this time I didn’t put any work experience for my spouse since it doesn’t give us any points. My profile because ineligible again.

My question is, do I make another application with my first profile - does this affect anything in terms of me being asked if I have applied before?

Please any one with a similar experience please share and help a sister out! smiley

Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by Nobody: 10:24pm On Oct 10, 2019
When you apply proper then I can argue this with you or when you provide someone with 6+ job experience that has gained more point than someone with 3 years.

That same link you pasted shows that 18-35 years applicants have the same point for age. But that’s not what is applicable.

Please get more information and stop arguing blindly.

Am done with this argument.

jjohndoe83:

Madam this is true for calculating your CRS score but when you calculate your score for eligibility factors, there is a difference in years of work experience as shown in my post.
Most people know about the CRS system but not the eligibility factors in my last post. It is this eligibility factor (which has 6 requirements) that the VOs use to decide whether you're eligible for EE.
Kindly go through the link in my previous post for better understanding.
