itzmoni: does the inverter have settings to charge flooded battery? or a batt selector switch? does it have desulphation option as well? |

So I have been observing this particular set of 48v/100ah lithium battery installation. They work just as fine, no issue of battery balancing. They work as a single unit of 48v . the bms also does a superb job in both protection and load sharing. More in depth review to come up soon. 2 Likes

Someone said he bought this recently. Cant remember who... Are they working ok.. Any regrets?. The price seems interesting for a budget install

Malevonent: I suggest you get the 3kva 24v MPP solar MK or GK series. It has inbuilt 80A charge controller (mk is 60A) and should be within your budget. 2 Likes |

ojeysky: does it store daily harvest logs?...ie you can come back and check your daily solar harvests say last 7 days or more. @3kva 24v MPP solar MK or GK series, you seem to praise it a lot, does it have that capability as well? How did you go about shipping, its a whooping $236, via dhl...pretty steep if you ask me. i recall u said the seller offers discount , since the hybrid inverter is $375, like how much discount are we looking at? |

sine wave ups is 900va and battery is 150ah ..with this i already enjoy 9hours of light, my question is this...can i add another 150ah or 200ah battery to my already 150ah battery with this same sine wave ups 900va or i need to make some changes?..thanks

itzmoni:you can add another battery of the same type and make if the old battery is not more than two months old, you will need to buy an external charger as I am not sure your inverter can charge two batteries fast enough |

Fantastic job Zeestone. It looks like it's a 48v 200AH setup, which comprises two 48V 100Ah batteries in parallel. Can you please specify the details of the installation. Battery bank capacity, inverter size as well as the size of the solar array. zeestone99: |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ojeysky(m): 4:43pm On Oct 09, 2019 |
earthrealm: I didn't check those details but can ask.
I have the GK series, I think shipping was 199usd in my case, when I bought mine it was about 50usd cheaper than the price on AliExpress so you should be saving a total of about 100usd if you buy directly from the manufacturer. 1 Like |

Israelicc: Thank you Isrealic. It's a 48v 200ah setup, powered by a 4.5kwp array, 80amps Mppt and a 5kw inverter. 2 Likes |

Topmost11: While I may not really think of applying this your principle to a solar panel-CC-Inverter set up, I strongly feel it will come in handy in a solar water heating concept i am working on. The usual AC water heater (Aniston products), around 15 litres capacity, swap a 24v DC heater in for the factory AC heater and connect directly to 24v solar panels. There will be two units of this and I have been thinking of ways to swap the two between a single solar panel supply once one is fully heated. This idea of yours comes in quite handy in this. I feel the only thing left to think about now is how to automate the switch between the supplies to the two heaters rather than a manual changeover switch. |

BetaTechnicians: So guys, talking of timers, can something of a sinotimer be connected between the battery and the inverter for some form of automation? I wonder if it will not amount to inverter damage if the timer effectively repeatedly connects and disconnects battery supply to the battery terminals of the inverter rather than the factory way of using the switch of the inverter, bearing in mind the fact that the AC load is already primed/switched on to start in all these scenarios. Thank you.

earthrealm:BTS inverters have 20% and 50% selectable DoD switch. They have the same form factor (the shape, the screen display and all that) as Prag, which in my opinion is overpriced. The BTS even has inbuilt AC chargers and AVS function too; features that Prag also boast of in their line up. A 1kva BTS as a cheaper alternative to Prag (spec for spec) has served faithfully for 3 years and still going strong. They are available on Konga and Jumia 1 Like |

earthrealm: The original MakeSkyBlue (I think it is the original because of the users' reviews) have been working fine for close to a year and only recently found out about their feud with PowMr on who has the original product. While I think that there may be a fake MakeSkyBlu* imitation out there that troubles PowMr, I plan to also have a unit of that PowMr soon just to verify their claims and find out who is lying out of the two. But for now, I can't categorically verify PowMr CC performance 1 Like |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ceaser: 3:20am On Oct 10, 2019 |
earthrealm:the MakeSkyBlue has nothing like log records, just the harvest for that day resets at the dawn of a new day. And probably the same can be said of the PowMr since they have the same form factor. |

Topmost11: ok same way the epever itracer works. @ceaser, the BTS inverter u talked about, does it have battery type selector switch, and any idea of the charging current for 3.5kva 48v or 24v models? really appreciate the update, getting detailed info about products in this part of a world is a big hassle Finally, has anyone come out a stand alone energy meter that could be connected to the CC to read off and store harvest data, i have seen similar device for a ac watt meter |

earthrealm: If you are using the PIP series inverters; Voltronic Axpert, Mppsolar PIP, Voltacon, Effekta, and if you can get your hands dirty on techie stuff then you can procure a raspberry Pi and try the solpiplog: https://github.com/njfaria/SolPipLog |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ceaser: 6:14am On Oct 11, 2019 |
earthrealm: The BTS does nt have battery type selector switch, at least not the 12v 1kva spec that i am familiar with, but I really can't say if other higher specs will have those sweeter features as upgrades. It should be of note that even though it has in built NEPA charger (10 amps for the 1kva, I guess) It was imperative to get an external charger. This is because as an AVR, in moments when the mains voltage drops to below 190v or thereabout, it shunts the only available power to powering the plugged in devices while starving the batteries of charging current so that at the end, the batteries basically remain at a static SoC. But when the voltage is adequate, it gives a direct supply to the plugged in gadgets while at the same time it charges the battery. However when devices are not plugged in, it shunts all available power to battery charging. 1 Like |
