Re: Car Talk Chat Room by franklin93(m): 5:57am On Oct 09, 2019
That issue is peculiar to the Honda accords & Honda CRV manufactured between 1999 & 2007 simply because their ball joint were poorly designed & couldn't withstand excessive wear & tear. More so, it can be avoided if the driver paid enough attention to them. The ball joint aren't expensive. Sold for about 1500 naira each & could last you for a year once changed depending on your driving habit & the kind of road you drive the car on. Later models from 2008 till date don't have that issue anymore including the Honda Accord, Honda City, Honda civic & all newer models.

I don't know much about Mitsubishi but if your mechanic said that then it means you have an interference engine. However, I think your engine can be rebuilt. All you need is to buy new timing belt, grind the bent valves or buy new ones & also inspect your pistons; if they have been torn apart you can replace them if the parts are available & lastly u get a new head gasket & your car should be fine. It happens to a lot of vehicles like WV, peugeot, kia, hyundai, mazda & other models & they don't need to buy am engine. On the average fixing it should cost you less than 30k all depends on how much you your belt cost & nature of damage as well hoping your pistons is torn apart

Good evening gurus

Please help me out here:

2003 Toyota highlander awd v6

I travelled and my wife has been driving my car for the past week, just got back home and as I started the car, it didn't sound right so I scanned it and got the following codes:

P2196 sensor signal biased/stuck rich bank 1 sensor 1

P0300 random/multiple misfire detected

P0301 cylinder 1 misfire detected

P0303 cylinder 3 misfire detected

P0305 cylinder 5 misfire detected

P0172 System too rich bank 1

P0174 system too lean bank 2

Please advise on the meaning of each code and possible fixes.

Also, there was a smell as if something is burning - I started the car soon as soon as my wife returned with it so engine was still hot.

Start with the checking of fuel pump and injectors, plugs also. It seems she bought a contaminated fuel.

A broken timing chain does not necessarily mean you have to change engine, so far it has not damaged it, you just have to replace it and reset the timing.

Lack of maintenance and sometimes lack of competent engineers to repair the Honda Machine (Car yea but it's a Machine)

Anyone who thinks I'm wrong sud answer the question why some persons never complain about Honda hand issue despite the fact they use theirs and travel also like me
And why others complain someone even said here that is own remove 3km away from where he changed it lols that sound like spiritual issue but trust me ... something is wrong somewhere... Btw wrong parts, wrong repairer, or so but definitely not Honda coz it's not general to All who use same Car
Re: Car Talk Chat Room by Johnsonkeyz2019: 2:47pm On Oct 11, 2019
Btw in Ibadan this days dunno whther it's only me but the rate at which I see other brand of vehicles pull off there hand is more than that of Honda this days

Especially all this our Nissan Micras of course that's another point

*Driving Habit* those commercials I know why it's happening to them now is there driving Habit

If u drive Toyota anyhow for long without proper maintenance one day it will pull off

They r all machines

Good day brother, please I need your expertise on this:

What is rhe major difference between a full option vehicle and the other.

I intend getting a Lexus es330 2006 model, and I noticed the price difference between the full option and the other is about 300 to 400k.

I want to know if it worth it to spend 400k more to get the full option. What do you advise?

I tested both rides already. And I don't seem to notice much difference aside the rear camera in the full option. Maybe because I am an inexperienced driver.

Please kindly advise me on the choice to make. Should I add 300k to get the full option or just take the other and save the cash. Is it worth it?

I eagerly await your response.
300k? cheesy

It completely depends on the vehicle. For one, I can see one has in-dash display and the other doesn't. They may also have different suspension and/or engine. Whether the difference is worth the money depends on what you want in a car. You need to just look up the specs of each of the two cars you are comparing. Sites like edmunds.com make it easy.

ALSO, TAKE THE CARS FOR A FULL INSPECTION BEFORE YOU BUY EITHER ONE. HAVE IT PUT ON A LIFT AND A COMPUTER DIAGNOSTIC RUN ON IT. A WORD IS ENOUGH FOR THE WISE. THE PEOPLE INSPECTING COULD EVEN TELL YOU THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO. AND DON'T GET A KAZEEM BECAUSE IT'S CHEAPER. 2.5-10k now to protect 2M.

Yes o brother. Please your input is needed as well. Anyone who has an idea can help. I am a novice when it comes to cars, I must admit.

The first picture, 1.9m
Second picture 2.250 (full option)
Pls wait lemme understand this, you are buying a car of 300k?

LOL. No bro.

I mean the difference in price between both cars is 300k. The full option is 300k costlier than the other one. So I am asking, for those who might have used both cars here, if there is any major differences between them.

No. Post inspection results here especially scan and NLers will tell you if its a go or not. Don't let them convince you to forgo a computer scan because there are no lights. Codes can be erased to get rid of lights but they'll come up on a scan
