This prednisolone how often do you have to use it.

Five days. Twice a day.

You mean just one dose (10 tabs) and no more inhaler use? That's wow. Wonder why most people don't know about this drug. I hope it doesn't carry its own adverse side effect.

Not just th3 drugs alone. You have to stay away from your triggers like smoke and dust. But it won't trigger you immediately, at least not me. The most important thing is to practice how to breathe from your stomach not chest.

It's not lack of oxygen that kills asthma patients, its too much oxygen in the body. The irony.

Hello.
Please i want to know what it is to have a spouse that is asthmatic. In all my life, i have never been with or known anyone that suffers from asthma but i would be getting married to one very soon.

What is it like?, Is there any effect on the marital life? conjugation, child birth, hereditary etc.

I am so worried as my would be spouse now daily come up with different stories of fatigue, tiredness, weakness, allergy and all sort that were perfectly hidden before now. I'm worried really...

.Thanks for your honest inputs.

I think it depends on the severity of the asthma. My wife is asthmatic and we've been married for 5 yrs now. Other than, one or two attacks in a year, we're very fine. For her, the attacks happen mostly during rainy season. She doesn't use inhaler but drugs and injection (during its peak)

She can get anything on a normal day and will also run away from fries as soon as she feels prone to the attack.

PS. I have given her all my supports because she was open to me before we got married. Thankfully, she can manage it to an extent. I got to know someone that had asthma during my secondary school days. It was crazy!

What i am sure about is that asthma is hereditary. Meaning your children are likely to be asthmatic.

They are not "likely" to be asthmatic. They have a higher chance of developing it, but its also determined by environmental factors

Let me school you. Not all asthma is hereditary. A severe cough in a child that is untreated properly during childhood can lead to a more severe case of asthma. Even exposure to dust, cold and extreme environments can lead to asthma. It all depends on the body mechanism of the individual.
Thank you! I dont know why someone would make such an uninformed and alarmist comment...maybe he was just trying to scare her

Damn, that's heart breaking. There's hope for your brother though. Medicines are improving daily.
Re: Living With An Asthmatic Spouse by EkaRohi: 6:31pm On Oct 11, 2019
You can help him stay healthy by advising him to use organic mouth freshener and even supplements. It really helps to subdue the attack whenever you sense it coming, instead of going to the hospital every now and then. My best friend's husband and two children are asthmatic trust me since I introduced them to this product early last year they have not been to the hospital. I'm talking about a family that used to go to the hospital almost every month. You can send a message on WhatsApp 08066491122. Best of luck.

I'm sorry about your loss. This case isn't chronic and i pray it never gets chronic. I got worried that my dear one uses the inhaler virtually everyday, and this is far from the impression given initially.

Finally i will only say is God though i can't run far distance without getting tired and i don't do hard dusty works.

It's no biggie. You have nothing to worry about. Just recommend seritide inhaler for him whenever he has an attack. That's the best relief for asthma and it prevents continuous attack.

Congratulations all the same.

There is no cause for alarm as l have lived with Asthma for more than 30yrs. l always keep to my *dos and donts* which is why l rarely have crisis.

There are bigger chances during rainy session but my inhaler(s) normally come to my rescue.

Yes, it is not curable but you will live long if well managed.

Your spouse needs to run from what triggers attack like Smokes,Strong smells (perfumes or other odors), Changes in weather; cold air, rigorous exercise, some foods etc
You guys may have to visit hospital to know how best to manage it.

Re: Living With An Asthmatic Spouse by janeyjoys: 6:47pm On Oct 11, 2019
Thanks so much. Symptoms are similar to my dear's. Would ask if my dear knows about the tablets.

NGRsenate:
Hmm.

First and foremost, always keep drugs at hand, don’t let drugs run out before you get more.

Keep ventolin tablets and inhalers, perilon( or any corticosteroid that works best to reduce the effects of an allergy for your partner), cough syrups and incase of severe asthma, a Nebulizer at home.

I’m mildly asthmatic, I use perfumes, i fry my food but when there’s a change in weather; say rainy season to dry season or vice versa - I get an attack, prolonged exposure to dust also triggers it for me. I sweep my house myself but when I start a project at a building site, I usually get an attack like 2 to 3 weeks in and that’s why I always go to work with face masks.

If your partner’s case is severe, then she should avoid sprays; perfumes, body sprays, insecticides etc. She should avoid frying or roasting. She should avoid smoking, burning trash or bushes. Get a vacuum cleaner if possible. Keep multiple inhalers at home. Keep one in each room of the house, in the car, at the office, in your pocket.

She should be aware of the onset of an attack. For some it’s a cough. For me it’s sneezing back to back until I can’t sneeze anymore. For some, it’s a blocked nose with a cold. Once she sees the sign, she should make sure there is an inhaler on sight.

All in all, she should be fine if she knows how to manage it well
