Interesting that Babafemi Raji of Brila FM and Osasu were having a go at each other just minutes ago on Twitter because of this and more. Babafemi claims Osasu is telling half-truths and leveraging on the meeting he had with Rohr recently at his hotel. Lol.... Even among journalists, there seem to be some disagreement on this. But then, Osasu got his info first hand from Rohr so I guess it is just unfortunate. Right now, I just wanna stay focused on the Brazil game. All these na just distractions. edi287: 1 Like |

Super Eagles Training – Awaziem Favourite To Start As Super Eagles Right-back Against Brazil October 12, 20190155 Base on the last training of the senior national team of Nigeria ahead of their friendly game against Brazil, coach Gernot Rohr appears to have settled for Leganes defender Chidozie Awaziem as his right fullback for the game. Rohr lost Ola Aina who played the position recently against Ukraine to injury hence making the spot vacant but despite Shehu Abdullahi who use to be the first choice right back and Tyronne Ebuehi who displaced Shehu at the World Cup, Awaziem appears to be his choice. Awaziem who is originally a centre defender played the role at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations after Shehu Abdullahi suffered an injury in the first game although he played as a centre defender in the last friendly against Ukraine. During the training session, Owngoalnigeria.com gathered that Awaziem lined up with the team that looks likely to start while the duo of Abdullahi and Ebuehi were with the other team with latter playing as a left fullback as Jamilu Collins is the only left full back in the squad. Why I Called Up Viv Solomon-Otabor As Replacement For Kalu Ahead Of Ejuke, Okereke – Rohr Explains October 12, 20190236 Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr who is under-fire by the media for calling up CSKA Sofia of Bulgaria winger Viv Solomon-Otabor as replacement for injured Samuel Kalu has explained the reason behind his decision. The call up to Solomon-Otabor came as a surprise to many considering that the former Birmingham City teenager hasn’t done as much as other Nigerian players plying their trade in leagues higher than that of Bulgaria, Where Solomon-Otabor plays. Defending his choice in a chat with Owngoalnigeria.com, the Franco-German coach said Solomon-Otabor will surprise many if he gets to play against Brazil and that he called him up as replacement for Kalu because they play same position. He said he monitored the player for a year before deciding to call him up when the opportunity came following the withdrawal of Kalu. Rohr advised Club Brugge David Okereke and Heerenveen Chidera Ejuke to continue with their impressive form as he will call them up soonest. ” I like what I saw in him when I watched him. He is like Kalu on the wings and we have been monitoring him for some time now. The other players like Okereke, Ejuke will get their chance soon. Solomon got the nod because the vacancy is for a winger. Players doing well need to continue working hard”, the coach explained. Source: owngoalnigeria.com |
