Meet the new Guys: Super Eagles

Ramon Azeez (not exactly new but he is new under Rohr and to this new young team), Peter Olayinka and Viv Solomon Otabor.

Dennis is teaching them "Shaolin stumbling soccer over chairs" grin

This kind worketh in the air since they are Eagles.

That's a vague argument because Usain was never a professional footballer.

We all know speed is needed asset in football. Jamie Vardy, Daniel James and Aubameyang all build their foundations on their speed.

Goals don't tell you everything about a winger. Look at Wilf Zaha, so effective but yet to score a goal this season.

Usain Bolt became a footballer in October 2018. But by January 2019, he pulled out. He obviously had no footballing ability inspite of his speed.

You need footballing ability to match speed. It is not about speed.

If Otabor was any good, he would have been picked up by a championship club at least. Not shipped out to Bulgaria.

There is no basis for the invitation.

Stats may show you performance but will not show you potential

Rohr having assembled one of the best young teams shows he's a good judge of talent

The guy is Nigeria's fastest player but has finishing problems, a good scout/coach would rush at such potential

Potential bawo

Agreed

He was definitely not good enough for the championship

Usain Bolt should be the best player in the world if it is about speed.

Otabor is an average player who has done nothing to warrant an invite

Otabor is not up to an average player

Calling oatbor average is an insult to average players

How can you use somebody who started playing as an adult to a full professional

Things happen. Troost Ekong was playing in Norway and look where he is now. Sometimes clubs are blinded to see the quality in players. Our Osimhen was passed around in Belgium before Charleroi took a chance on him.

I was talking about speed as an attribute. You need footballing ability to match the speed.

Ekong showed continuous improvement from year to year. Can we say the same for Otabor? Osimhen is still in the infancy of his football career. Otabor has been playing for several years now.

Still doesnt justify otabor invitation

Ekong was playing in norway and was doing well and was even captain of the team

Osimhen was also doing well in charleroi

If he didn't have footballing abilities even clubs in Gibraltar wouldn't want him. Or are you saying they like dashing out money in Bulgaria?

I am not talking about growth was Ekong playing in Norway when he was first called up yay or nay?

Norway is still Norway and have you watched Otabor to know that he doesn't have quality? Me personally I haven't but Rohr has never been far off IMO so I still give him that.

Samuel Kalu would have enjoyed playing against Dani Alves and Marquinhos

Lodl will match Chukwueze speed for speed

Jesus will not be a problem for Jamilu Collins

Firminho will be a handful for Ekong (potential red card)

I have watched both players. In fact, i have been following Otabor since 2016 at least. At some point, he had potential but he is an average player now.

You must have watched Eze on a bad day. Watch 2-3 games.

He is currently the best player in the championship and his results show it.

Bros get your facts right, don't just single out specific events just to prop yourself up.If falling is the result of making a perforated argument, fall and stand again. It's ok to be wrong. If you wanna bring up the careers of other players to justify the invite of otabor, then do it right. You singled out the years Ekong played in Norway, without indicating the fact that he did so for a year, you made it seem like he played in Norway for 3-4 years. You also brought up Osimhen. Did you just mention that Osimhen was passed around in Belgium? What the hell do you mean? The last I checked Osimhen played for a single Belgian team. If a player played for a succession of lowly-rated teams over a time period of 3-4 years, then honed their skills over the next couple of years to become a decent/good player, it doesn't change the fact that he was average in his previous stint. They might have repented from their sins and become better players. The question is, does he deserve a call-up? No he doesn't. At this point in the time, we have got a large pool of players to pick from, and there is no reason to go as far as Bulgaria to pick someone. Our level don change. When he graduates from average to somewhat good player, maybe he will deserve a call-up then. By the way, usually when a player is average at 23, the likelihood of he continuing that trend of mediocrity is high. That's the problem we have as Nigerians, too much " just take him, his fortunes will change" If you have got no substance, with respect to your job, you definitely don't deserve it. Peace
