Chapter Twenty Three

Andrew was bounded to a stick from shoulders to feet and tied to Liq's back facing opposite direction. He looked like a two year old hanging on Liq's back while dragging the headless body of Mutum by the feet behind him, and Zixta and Boko dragging the others with them.

They had been walking in a single file for hours in a straight direction and was beginning to brighten up in the sky.

Boko who was in front stopped and the others moved to him. Andrew had not seen the massive mountain touching the sky until Liq turned.

The men together lifted what looked like a storey building with every vein in their bodies shooting from their massive muscles as they strained to pull off a side of the mountain. And when they had moved it aside enough to pass through, they closed it up again the way they had opened it.

Inside was dark as they walked freely without groping. Andrew could not see what was in front as they proceeded.

A scratching sound came with light. Liq moved forward to assist in pushing away another great rock that looked like nothing was behind it covering the main entrance off the road. And they entered. When they turned to close it up, Andrew saw a wide city of giants. It was dim with fire burning from pots standing on different sides of over a thousand caves perfectly arranged around the wall as the source of illumination. Andrew couldn't believe his eyes.

There was a staircase made of wood constructed at the entrance and other parts of the caves channelled to every part around.

Giants stood in front of their caves watching as the trio descended with a headless Mutum and his siblings.

At the ground floor were squared houses made of rocks were randomly built with nothing but rocks and pots of fire inside. The place was apparently crowded with children, female and male giants clothed in animal skin. The females covered their breast and waist and the male only covered only their waists.

Most of the children walked around naked, sampling an impressive large male organ almost the size of Andrews hand. Some of the giants where impressively massive and the smallest were 8 foot tall, and where considered dwarfs.

The trio dropped Mutum and his brothers in front of one of the houses and sat resting from their trip. A female came out and knelt beside Boko facing the floor. He nodded without looking at her, she stood up and went inside still facing the ground not to catch his eyes.

That was a sign of respect by the giants way. Husbands are masters and wives slaves.

An elderly one came out looking at the bodies displeased. He turned to the trio and said. " so you went ahead to kill them. What have you gained?".

"meat!". Boko said and the trio exploded a hearty laughter.

Liq pulled Andrew off his back, lifted him up with a hand effortlessly and tossed him on the floor. " another meat!" He said to elderly one who seem to like the strong human which will definitely be tasty.

A young female came out of the cave, an arm length taller than Andrew and knelt in front of Boko, he touched her head and asked her to take Andrew in. She beamed smile and hurriedly stood up, picked Andrew up, hauled him across her shoulder without strain rushing inside.

On getting in, she dropped Andrew on the floor, loosened his bands save for his hands and legs. Sat him in front of her and started playing with his face and hair.

" take it to the cage!". The female from earlier said to her as she sat beside a big pot cooking.

She hesitated hugging Andrew hard almost choking him. The woman stood up, snatched Andrew from her and the little girl started crying. She ignored her, took Andrew to the back of the house where they had over a 1000 cages of animals and humans. She opened one of the cages with sweaty humans, threw Andrew in and closed it.

The little girl was still crying by the time she returned to her cooking. Ignoring her she focused on what she was doing.

" what is the problem!". Boko yelled.

The woman eyed the little girl angrily and went outside, knelt with her face to the ground. "Gbique wants the new human as pet. She said to Boko.

" then give it to her, make sure it doesn't get missing! If anything should happen to it, you will have me to have. That one will cross other females. I want to rear its kind of human", Boko replied and focused on the discussion with the Liq and Zixta on sharing the bodies of Mutum and his siblings.




Abdul finally stood up and slowly walked to the car beating himself up for leading his friend and family to an early grave.

He slowly entered the car and turned to where Susan had sat, it was empty.

He rushed out of the car, looked around the crowd but there was no trace of Susan.

" not again!". He said hitting the roof of the car.

Then he started looking around for her. And when he couldn't find her, he stopped searching, cursing himself for even taking up such stupid risk for a female dog like her. He cursed himself even more and returned to the car.

As he began driving off the busy street still cursing himself, his head lamp caught two of Usman's men rough-handling Susan as they dragged her with them. He stopped the car and completely forgot all his grudges against her. His heart was thumbing both of revenge and of handling Susan in such manner.

In an impulse he came out of the car and started towards the men who were not aware of his presence. They were still dragging the resisting Susan who was screaming with pedestrians looking and giving way in fear for the men to pass.

Abdul grabbed one by the shoulder turning him to face him and dug a dagger inside his eyes. The other left Susan, made to reach for his gun, a strong punch met his nose pushing him backwards, before he could raise his head, Abdul had sliced his through and grabbed Susan up, pulling her to the car without looking at the dying men nor the excited crowd.

He opened the passengers seat, pushed Susan in and shut it, moved to the driver side, entered and drove off without saying a word to Susan.

Susan felt both embraced and guilty as she sat silently stealing glances at Abdul whose face was angrily folded, focused sternly on the road.

A gunshot echoed from behind. Susan flinched and turned abruptly. Abdul looked from the rear glass. It was a jeep behind them and another yellow light sparkled off a loud sound. Abdul increased his speed knocking everything off his way. Susan buried her head in her seat, wondering why such cliché.

Usman was at the passengers side with his head out through the window. He fired again and missed. " move the car!". bellowing at the driver.

Abdul swerved into a sharp bend to meet an old woman in front at the middle of the narrow alley trying to pick up her cat.

Abdul had already killed the lady in his heart speeding directly towards her. Susan raised up her head just in time to see what was about to happen.

" look! Look!". She pointed.

But Abdul was eagerly driving towards the old lady. They were few distance apart before Susan leaped to Abdul and pushed the steering, the car scratched through the wall and narrowly escaped the lady, and moved uncontrollably towards a table, knocked it off, the tire climbed a little slab by a wall and rolled over on its roof screeching through the ground.
