I will not join to blame ED Woodward. It is possible that if he were not around, we would have been poor on the field of play as well as financially. But now we are still rich financially which makes it possible to turn things around.

He provided hundreds of millions when everyone felt money could turn things around. He provided for Gaal and even Mourinho. But it looks like the strategy of trying to buy 5 world class players at once didnt work, hence the need to adopt another strategy. We bought Mata, Falcao and Di Maria, and a few guys in one window, with RVP, Rooney on ground, but whoosa.

I don't share your sentiments about Ed Woodward.
the man is really good at what he does but don't make it seem like Manchester United needed any savings. the finances of the club were perfect before the broke asses came with their first class banker. the club is indebted because of them, they have also taken £1b out of the money Woodward is "making" and this isn't some trivial change. imagine all that was added to the reinvestment in playing staff.

the bigger problem, however, is the poor recruitment policy and some of it has also been because the owners consider the merchandize aspect of recruitment above the footballing impact.
