this os highly unnecessary

This is a culture that needs to be curbed, resorting to calling women olosho and wh0re, whenever you have disagreements is petty and unnecessary. Nigerian men have that as their default insult, you will get married some day and someone will use such insult on your wife or even your daughter, just becajse of a slight disagreement.

It is wrong, you can get more creative than thay

In front of a judge, questions like that are looked at.

Hmmm

Looking at this from another angle, the problem with this rape case is simple.

A lot of Nigerian young guys worship success, and Fatoyinbo is the epitome of that success.

He is a guy who has apparently come from nothing to acheive something. The fact that the women are accusing him sounds , to many of thise success worshippers , like pull him down syndrome. Hence, their attempts to defend Fatoyinbo.

Another issue is this harsh but painful fact (sorry ladies, I'm going to he a bit harsh on you). A lot of Nigerian young men have been at one time or the other dumped by a girl they were in a relationship with, or at one time dissapinted by a girl they had a crush on, for another man who is 'richer' than they are. This colors their preception of women to a large extent as betrayers.

Again, a lot of women in Nigeria are 'materialistic'. I guess poverty too plays a role. Women in Nigeria have to often times make choices of men base on whether the man can take care of 'her family' Love ain't got nothing to do with it. Add the image put in many girls heads that the 'man is suppsoed to take care of the woman'....

Finally, a lot of guys in Nigeria don't know how to talk to women. They grow up in houses where their fathers rule the roost, being abusive to their wives, or being poorly communicative to their wives. They also have a lot of bad examples from other guys. Throw in our culture's commodificaiton of women, and that adds up to a very flawed view of the average Nigerian woman by the average Nigerian man. Made worse by the fact that most women aren't the doormats of yesterday.

Hence, that's why Busola isn't beleived. By many Nigerian men. Because of mistakes made, hearts broken, materialism, and flawed perceptions...at the end of the day, a rape victim is just another bad woman who 'probably enjoyed it' and 'is looking for more money'

Life.

Hmmm

Its like D's op is mad! Did ESE Walter accuse him of Rape?! I thought efe Walter herself dissociate herself from D's issue why involve her again? Aw many person came out and accused him of rape before dakolos issue?!

U am not saying he raped her or not , but in as much he did, have you considered what if he didn't?! Have you considered what if it was staged?!

A black american that spent over 40 years in prison over fake rape accusation also had people like you showing this blind rage to have him convicted , he spent 40 years and d lady came out apologising that she lied! What about that?!

Was it not the same rage people turned to neymar when the Brazilian model accused him of rape?! Thank God for receipt! But the accusation stripped near of some endorsement..

Its brave of Busola dakolo to have spoken! But it would be ideal of her to go to court and get this settled and not allowing emotionally blinded social media judge put mouth just for clout!!

As you are thinking of he did , kindly take time nd think of what if he did not?! Thank you

You have been caught just admit it and stop giving more excuses. Why we do this still baffles me. If I was accused of rape and I didn't do and sure same will apply to you too. Why the hell will I use that strategy at all? Infact I will be hell bent on going to trial for full exposure of the lies being told so I will be fully exonerated and not just applying any law to escape legal proceedings. As that will not in anyway repair my tarnished image and prove I didn't do it.

And what expenses is he trying to avoid? I thought he was rich. Always so quick to defend Fatoyinbo and always so quick to discredit the victim. We really need to change our mentality in this country.

If you are truly objective, you will doubt Busola's account and also doubt Fatoyinbo's defence.

You cannot compare the number of rape cases in those developed countries to that in Nigeria, and if not for their working government and laws, the rape over there would have been over the roof than you can ever imagine.

The working governments and laws of those developed nations are the reason many would be rapists lay low in those countries unlike in Nigeria where rich and influential people know that if they rape, they go free with it, so they do it with reckless abandon and nothing happens to them.

Just so you know, 5 years ago, President of Israel was accused of rape by a staff of the Presidential villa, and the judicial panel investigating the accusation asked the President to step aside temporarily to avoid him influencing the outcome of the investigation and to enable thorough investigation of the accusation and he had to.

At the end, he was found guilty and that was how he lost his position as Israeli President and he went to Jail for it, which he finished serving sometime last year or so.

Also former US President Bill Clinton who was also accused of rape by Monica Lewinsky was found guilty and he was impeached as President, he didn't finish his tenure as US President because of that sex scandal.

The same thing happened to former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, who also lost his seat because of sex scandal with a young model.

You saw what's happening to R. Kelly of all people All because of rape accusation.

Now tell me, can such things happen in Nigeria

Fix Nigeria's political mess first and every other thing will fall in place!

But no, when we men are fighting for politics and trying to address Nigeria's political mess, you Nigerian ladies will not care, instead you lots will be playing ludo, watching Zee World, Telemundo and fighting for the latest hair weavon!!!

So you ladies should keep chasing clout and keep enjoying the rape until you ladies develop sense and join hands to fight the root of all these societal mess in Nigeria which is failed Nigerian government!!

You have spoken right but do you know Timi Dakolo said those 10m claims were false? Anyways I do agree with your stance about online justice. But there's practically no way Busola can prove she was raped now? Its impossible all the evidence have long gone. But still Fatoyinbo's lawyer motioned for a status barred. Who does that if they aren't quilty.

Rape cases are hard to prove thats why the western world have developed rape kit where they take DNA samples and photographic evidence immediately after rape occurs. Even if the person doesn't want to press charges which is the case most times. This is to make sure that the evidence is available when ever the victim needs it in the future.

Honestly if you want to be objective be objective on both fronts. Question Fatoyinbo's actions too. Why has he received so many rape accusations? Is he the only popular rich pastor around? Heck I didn't even know him before this rape saga began so he definitely isn't as popular as other pastors like pastor chris and the likes. Why did his lawyer moved that motion? How are you sure the rape didn't happened? Why would Busola expose herself like this? I know rape victims are so powerfully ashame that what she is experiencing now on social media is their worse nightmare. Why? Note the Dakolos aren't poor people. They have means. So question both sides bro.

I obviously didn't question Busola's account because you've done that already in your posts. There are some discrepancy too in her story but they are things that those who have experience rape or know someone who has will definitely understand.
I'm not disputing that but I have said earlier, anybody can be accused but it's left for the accuser to prove his/her case. Look at the case of Joseph in the holy Bible and you will understand.

Shut the Bleep up. I know SEVERAL girls that were raped, almost raped etc. One of them was my sister.
In short, boys/guys sometimes share stories of how they forced a girl or almost did!
My neighbor and friend told me he almost had his way with another neighbor of ours I was crushing on, she DIDN'T tell me this and the only reason I know is because the guy told me. He would have raped her if she hadn't started crying and getting the landlord's attention!
One girl was raped by her sister's husband's brother, they lived next door!
You guys are pathetic, for every wrong rape accusation, there's 9 that wasn't even reported.
The fact that many rape cases are true doesn't mean all are true. Haven't you heard about a woman who had to search for a man she once accused wrongly to apologise to him, simply because she was not able to conceive?
Little did she know that the man had nothing to do with her problem. Cases like this are also reported. As a man, how would you feel if you are convicted simply because a jealous woman falsely accuse you of rape?
We will all support her because she is going through pains. Pains you caused her.
So you can now see the pain an innocent person passes through when falsely accused.

I have no intention of making anyone feel bad here but I think there was no rape in the whole saga. There was rather a silent attraction that gave birth to mutual conjugality.
Why be around a man for that long if you never liked him?
Why keep mute on him raping you while your sister was in the house if you never liked it?
Why didn't you shout and raise alarm when he was leaving, after the purported rape if you never liked it?
Why didn't you share the first and second rape issue immediately to your beloved family if you never liked it?
Why still go to his church if you never liked it?
Why go stay at his house to help his wife and even sought to sleep in their master bedroom if you never liked it?
Why follow him in his car to drop you if you never liked it?
Why didn't you struggle when he took the u-turn to give you the supposed second rape if you never liked it?
Why didn't you tell anyone again or even the police if you never liked it?
After the third day, when he came to find out why you didn't go to church, why didn't you refuse going to the same church when he asked you to if you never liked it?
Why didn't you show any sign of what he did to anyone? Why conceal the whole issue if you never liked it?
Are you totally innocent
Why didn't you tell us if you ever seduced him?
Why didn't you tell us if you fell for his looks?
Why did you do what you did and are still doing what you're doing to him now? Is it fair?
So because someone accused you of sleeping with pastors in the past and is accusing you of being unfaithful in your marriage now you want to pick on the pastor who was in your past just to cover up on the accusation meted on you?
Who knows if you probably seduced him to push him to that extent?
What looks did you give him when he entered your house with your nighty on? Why didn't you rush to change? Why allow him to come in when you were probably Unclad in a transparent gown?

Careful young lady. Your submission in a way supports the guy's points, thus we cannot entirely dissociate rape from politics.
How can Nigerians be reorientated? By circulating information on the social media? Do you know how many Nigerians that only occasionally visit social media platforms, such as this one? What about brother Salisu, the gateman? How can you change the mindset of Nigerians, if not by educating the kids, and inculcating the strong attitude of opposing rape ferociously into them, and for adults that are beyond the rudimentary form of education, if not by circulating information through employment outlets, and establishing correction institutions for recalibrating those that wouldn't listen. I mean, what kind of system enforces such initiatives? Isn't it a working one ? You seem to mean well with your discussion of the problem and solution, but how can you do it without talking about governance, unless governance is not a subset of politics You seem to like trends a lot, here's a question for your thought, in which countries are rape cases unattended to more prevalent, developed or undeveloped/developing? The re-orientation starts from homes. If you know how many laws we have in Nigeria that are poorly implemented, you'd realise it is not so much the government often times, but the people.

Society greatly influences the government policies. If we don't make noise about these matters, nothing will be done. The government cannot work in isolation, society's pressures also determine government policies. So, saying people should drop talking about rape pending when the government choose to pick it up, is wrong.

The LGBTQ movement in America, the Civil Rights movement, influenced laws that led to what the American society has become today. The people didn't just sit at home and keep mute about it. If you don't constantly talk about it in the press and on social media, if you don't keep the topic in the minds of policy makers and public officers, nobody will suddenly bring up or implement laws to correct the societal wrong.

Government may have a role to play, but government is influenced by society's role. If you think protests concerning the matter will solve nothing and are unimportant, the government will regard them with the same importance you give it.

I equally agreed with you on this front. But my point is it's very hard to prove in court especially when the victim was ignorant of the importance of evidence when the said event occurs. Probably because they were too emotionally broken to think straight. In cases like this, the rapist goes free not because he is innocent but because the accuser didn't meet the burden of proof.

Obviously this could all be a false claim too. This is why we really need to educate girls on the need to preserve and document everything after they are raped. This is obviously against nature as the natural thing to do is to wash off everything as quickly as possible but this makes it harder or almost impossible to meet the burden of proof.

As per being accused wrongly that's understandable. And does a lot of damage to the accused reputation. And if you are up against a deadly lawyer that can twist facts and tell half truths, you could be in serious problem. Although false accusations are rare when it comes to rape compared to other crimes like murder and the likes. It do happens but its even more rare for it to occur more than once from more than one women. A pattern is a pattern. Of course that too can be fabricated too.
