abbey621:Even with all the info available in the open, it's no hard to see evidence of where the truth lies. Very high probability the Coza pastor raped her. |

mindtricks: I'm not disputing that, I'm disputing the fact that no competent court can ever convict him based on the evidence so far. Which is why it is laughable that the OP condemned people criticizing her or asking questions. |

franchasng: Franchsang, I would like to put a different spin on your objections. I agree--on one level, the fuss about this one rape case trial by social media, by people who weren't there, is a waste of time. HOWEVER: This case opens the conversation on social attitudes on rape; just one of many areas of Nigerian society that is ailing, and failing its members. Nigeria is not working politically and leadership wise, and simply waiting for that to change for the better, on its own, may be a long wait--agreed. But as policy and leadership are outgrowths of the society that they govern and lead, changing the society that begets its leadership, is the way to change its leadership. Discussing the dynamics of rape so they are better understood, and the current attitudes toward, and justification of, rape--for example--to start convincing people to change their views, IS a step toward healing the society that permits its leaders to rape it repeatedly. This IS a step toward repairing the political mess--raising awareness, increasing engagement, and reducing apathy within the population. Attitudes toward leaders, and attitudes toward rape, are not separate things. The same dynamic is condoned, and at work, in both the political and social spheres. The social sphere is where each individual can, right now, reevaluate and adjust his or her attitude toward rape (in this case), and toward the society they want to live in, and create, through their own behaviour and participation. It is in discussions like these that individuals can evaluate and adjust their attitudes toward the kinds of leaders they want to raise and elect. There is a great deal of hard truth in what safarigirl wrote. Remove the Busola/Dakolo references if they bother you, and take the rest to heart, and to mind. *edited for clarity 2 Likes |

safarigirl:so when anybody claim rape without evidence we should just accept because of your foolish sentiment right? Educate your daughter's to speak up if anyone comes close to touching them and they will always speak up |

queenitee:so after 50 years you come and tell us rape without evidence and you want us to just accept simply because you said so....lol. Instead of telling ladies to speak up immediately and investigation carried out immediately and the guilty one sent to jail immediately you are advising them to wait and just get justice from social media...mad ppl everywhere |

loswhite:You know I actually wanted to ignore before, but then sometimes you have to help people out of their ignorance. I never asked anyone to wait and get justice from social media. All I said was that if she couldn’t speak up immediately and it took her 50 years to find her voice, no one should shut her down simply because it has been long or whatever. My post is actually encouraging everyone to speak up, regardless of the sex. Be it a male or female. So next time, don’t be so eager to type something, read and understand. And I’m not going to reply rudely to your “mad people everywhere” ‘cos it actually got me annoyed and I won’t want to give a reply that would cause issues. So FYI I am not mad and you are the one who should read and understand instead of giving a reply even a patient with BAD wouldn’t give. Thank you 2 Likes |
