Rumxy: What do you mean by Igbos well ahead of the mighty Yorubas before the civil war? Are you even sure of what you’re saying, even late Azikwe will be ashamed of you. Below is the New York time post in 1959 about the region of Nigeria before 1960. The conservative North, 75 percent Muslim and containing about half of Nigeria's population, is governed by the Northern people's congress. The premier is Alhaji Sir Ahmadu Bello, who carries the title of Saraduana of Sokoto. In the East, where the intelligent, energetic Ibo tribes predominates the controlling party is the National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons, headed by one of the most dazzling of Nigerian politicians, Dr. Nnamdi Azikwe, premier of the Eastern region, who is known throughout the country as Zik. In the somewhat more developed west, which is Yoruba Country, the government is run quite well, it is said by Chief Awolowo, an able politician, and his Action group. The West points with pride to its universal free primary education, free medical treatment for children up to 18years of age, agricultural planning and other social programs of which no other Nigerian region can boast of. You can clearly see how the western region was described. We are the pioneer of the first among first in Nigerian history and I’m just surprised that you can even equate the Eastern region to the western region in terms of economic dominance That’s absurd! 2 Likes

Don’t mention first indigenous university coz UI was already in the west hence no need to site another uni in the west at that time. 1 Like |

LegendHer0: This is why Igbos are badly discredited and disrespected in Nigeria today. Everyone know they are all mouth. Scammers and empty braggart. Is this not why Dokubo Asari labelled Igbos "slaves of the Ijaws"? Once you are deconstructed then even those far smaller than you will laugh at you. Yorubas, on the other hand, and even as we don't brag, are respected for our real achievements, such as the exemplary list below of top ten richest lawyers in Nigeria with 1 to 10 all Yorubas. Not even a single Igbo name yet they brag about dominating everything and everyone. Igbos have no shame. They will begin argue the list was compiled by Ibadan-Lagos Yoruba press. https://flashacademy.com.ng/richest-lawyers-nigeria/ 2 Likes |

Mandeyy: It’s possible dosen’t mean it’s a norm or reality, seems it’s your brain that is dys.functional just like you opined. Can a Yoruba man contest to be governor of Anambra? yes that’s possible Will a Yoruba man become the governor of Anambra through the ballot? No, that’s not possible. Can you see the examples I stated above and the limit of your reasoning? |

Makuos19: Mumu, who made Igbo richest tribe? Perhaps on Mars. The list indicates representative statistic. It stands to reason if we produce a list of top 10 or even top 50 in every sector (business, law, entertainment, IT, education, healthcare etc) and Yorubas dominate every single list then common sense shows that Yorubas are not your mates in wealth or anything else for that matter. They are far ahead of you. You brag of being better, more intelligent and richer than others. Why do Yorubas dominate you totally in the field of law then? Or is the Yoruba dominant success at law not an exponent of their superior intellect? You see now that what is so obvious to even a child an Igbo adult cannot comprehend because of vainglorious ego and an empty braggart predisposition . Remember, "empty barrels make the most noise". 1 Like |

Igbo people own big businesses in every state in Nigeria but your biased mind won't let u believe it. that is why I said Igbo people are richer looking at their spread of businesses. 1 Like |

Mccullum: Indeed. the poster you responded to claims Yorubas have been in political wilderness since 1958 without understanding that this only shows the resilient and highly principled approach of the Yorubas to politics unlike the shallow outlook of 'food is ready' politics Igbos love. Yorubas can persevere in opposition out of lofty ideals and build political machinery that endures. For example, Tinubu was sole opposition Governor in SW in 1999 to top of the pile today with APC having 5 out of 6 SW Governors. Which Igbo has ever achieved similar in the entire history of Nigeria? What did they do with Ojukwu's APGA if not relegate to a bigoted association of local champions while Tinubu took ACN all the way to the top via APC. All they know is to jump ship and platforms always in search of where food has already been prepared for them to then dine lazily like Obi who jumped from APGA to PDP while even thrashing his former Party and trying to sabotage it or Kalu and many others always running from pillar to post in search of food. They loved the PDP from the day when the Party appeared invincible and untouchable and the "safest paltform for the next 60 years" as Ogbulafor, former Igbo PDP Chairman bragged. That is Igbos for you. Not ready to build anything but ready to always reap where they have not sown via 'bandwagoning'. While they chose to lick PDP's azz , Tinubu and his fellow Yoruba leaders showed the world that we Yoruba do not think anything is impossible and that we are ready to work hard, physically and intellectually, to achieve what we want. We are not lazy thinkers or political prostitutes (as Shagari labelled Zik) like Igbos who always want 'safe options' they assume are sure bankers. Now they are stuck with PDP and shame leaves them no option but to continue barking rabidly against the winning APC. Still they never learn. 1 Like |

Rumxy: Lol, how many American own business in Nigeria? How many British own businesses in Nigeria? How many South Africans own businesses in Nigeria? The denominator is that people migrate to places where there is economic prosperity. Because the Yorubas don’t go to the SE to do business does not mean they are not successful. C’mon I thought you were intelligent. Have you ever seen people do urban-rural migration? Why should any thinking person leave the SW with his purchasing power and go to the SE to live? Have you ever for once wondered why a lot of Igbos migrate to the West? Can I ask why? 3 Likes |
