Recently, I listened to a song by an American artist, Ed Sheeran (Thinking Out Loud), and checked out the lyrics online. I think it is a lovely piece. The relationship between love and old age and how the romance wouldn't wane with time.
We generally tend attribute love to youth. The younger we are, the more brighter the flames would burn in our hearts. But we forget that it runs much deeper. It's not limited only to that passionate affair we had at 23, the heated sex nor intense kisses. It's that slow, warm feeling we get when holding hands, we fold into our lover's arms or place their heads on our beating hearts. Its realizing that even when our legs don't work like they used to before, our memory fades and hair turns entirely white; our souls are as evergreen as always.
Getting old is all part of the plan, so flow with it together. That's life. Grace is looking back, not at what we once had, but what we still do. The love never dies, we just think so because it's different, more mature and subtle.
Who really cares if you can't sweep her off her feet, or that his once lustrous hair is all gone. The smile is still there, and the eyes and the touch, the reason you both fell in love.
In a couple years things will change. The success we crave now would by then be ours. The applause would have rang so often in our ears, we would get tired of it. And some time later, our names forgotten. But it would remain forever in the minds of our family and engraved permanently in their hearts. At the end of the day, they are all that truly matters. The person/people that are the most relevant.
Love might seems cliche. That overhyped emotion that robs us of every reason. True or not, it can't be denied, and it definitely hardly dies. So while it's mellowed down into a spark, it can still burn with it's initial brilliance, if given the chance.
So enough with that whole " Young Love" is the only love mentality. It's a mystery that can be found with any race, status, physique, nationality, sex, and unarguably, AGE.

love overcomes lust, anyday. When that time come's you wouldnt even notice when a younger girl passes by.
