Imagine in a country of millions of engineering graduates. The governor of Lagos is proud to say this - Julius Berger, Arab Contractors and the other companies involved in our meeting today have been charged to approach our road reconstruction and rehabilitation projects with the highest standards. I am of the opinion that Sowore and his SPICER-HEAT plan is what can save Nigeria. Too many clueless leaders in Nigeria leading the masses nowhere

In 2019, Nigerians cannot still build roads. Well ahmadu bello said it best . He prefers to hire foreigners than to hire someone from another tribe. In Nigeria , we have a disease called naijaphobia. It means we hate other Nigerians. 7 Likes |

Lets leave out sentiments. Give Chinese or JB or Arab contractor road job and you see delivery and better quality. Compare their roads with those given to Nigerian contractors and you will know why. Lagos roads will still remain bad with all this noise because at the end of the day APC politicians will bring their companies to take the jobs or some and make a mess of things. Then after a few months the roads will be worse off . Let those who have a good track record work on Lagos roads. The bad roads and traffic jams in Lagos are a national disgrace. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

Because there is s limit to which these companies would short-changed the masses as their integrity is of utmost importance. Integrity does not matter to majority of Nigerian companies, some are started for the sole purpose of SCAM. 2 Likes 1 Share |

valarmorghulis:Nope.... Half of the contract money awarded to most local engineers go back to the awardees as kickbacks. Most times, it's hard to get kickbacks from these big construction firms. When a party member who doesn't know jack about construction is given a contract, he settles people from the money, then award to a local engineer at a price that can't even get the job done. The local engineer constructs to the extent the money can go and abandons the project. Nigeria is terrible |

valarmorghulis: Well the foreign companies take our money away to their countries. We have never been blessed with good leaders in this Nation because of tribe and religion. |

This is really funny but its not fair. Inasmuch as we have Quack Nigeria contractors, we also still have very experienced contractors. |

Imagine in a country of millions of engineering graduates. The governor of Lagos is proud to say this - Op, is it the same Nigerian contractors that fixed the road near my house? After 3 weeks bumps started showing. After 2 months sand don replace coal tar. |

JonDon12:he said it because people were taking over the jobs in the North who were non indegenes. It led to the Northernisation policy of 1962 if I am correct. Nigeria had brilliant and qualified graduates back in those days |

NSNA: There are millions of engineering graduates working and managing projects and contracts by the same companies you listed. It is not their fault that you and other Nigerians don't establish such companies. Stop being dramatic for likes on NL. |

Re: What Is Wrong With This Picture? Sanwo-olu by NGpatriot: 3:37pm On Oct 14, 2019 |
nairalandposter: Actually very obvious, just another bash and badmouth Nigeria topic. Maybe the national origin of the kep players are not Nigerian, but these companies are fully owned Nigerian companies even, they employ hundreds of thousands of Nigerians and they pay taxes here in Nigeria, their spending on manpower, tools, equipment, advertisements, legal, accounting, food, hospitality, vendors are all done in Nigerians with the money going into the pockets of Nigerians. Most of these anti-Nigerian topics and sentiments are mostly ignorant and myopic. |

No serious government will award major road rehabilitation/construction projects to indigenous contractors. |

nairalandposter: All that is left is to replace Sanwo-olu with a Foreigner so that it is a perfect picture and we can Kuku say the whole country is useless and foreigners can do a better job all round including leadership. I guess then you will not have to ask about my concerns with the picture. |
Re: What Is Wrong With This Picture? Sanwo-olu by NGpatriot: 5:15pm On Oct 14, 2019 |
NSNA: So, your problem is the fact that foreigners are investing in Nigeria and that they are creating jobs for Nigerians, growing our economy and paying taxes in Nigeria? Is this your ignorant problem? Have you tried to establish a construction company and the government denied your application or prevented you from doing so? Good thing I wasn't expecting anything intelligent from you. |
