Please what's the extent of Francis Uzoho's injury? November is close for AFCON 2021 qualifiers.

Meanwhile, Benin Republic drew 2-2 with Zambia in a friendly yesterday. We have a tough game in our hands with Benin.

I think NFF should focus now on capping Kingsley Ehibizue, Eberechi Eze and Bukayo Saka. We need back ups for our young squad.

Iwobi's bad games are more than his hood games (for both club and country).

I'm beginning to see why many regard him as overrated

you're very right....
was surprised to see his comment claiming oniachu played well....
wish he could spill that on one of the front page thI reads.....
and wash how some nairalanders take him to the cleaners....

I wonder how someone with so much knowledge of English could be bereft of good and unbiased football analysis

Once again you have joined the sentiment based negative presumption.

I'll say it again tactically Onuachu had a good game under the circumstances. He came on 74th minute to be an outlet with the long ball with hold up play, Aerial dominance and consequently reduce the pressure on the midfield that was close to getting over run.

He did all that IMO.

In the 20 minutes he played he had two attempts at goal a header and a shot albeit both off target.

For those of you who follow the sports media particularly the African based ones see the screen shot below and thier comments on Onuachu. It seems my opinion is shared by Nigerian sports media.

Finally the weakest link was Collins which I had already predicted and the MOTM was Aribo, in my opinion.

Is it bad belle or youthful misplaced exuberance that does not allow you to have an objective measured view or maybe your so fanatical you loose rational.

one thing nobody has mentioned on this thread is our over Reliance on chukwueze. I think we need to find a good backup just in case...SOMETHING happened (which I pray against )

The only player I have watched who has a bit of Samu's attribute BUKAYO SAKA. But... if there are better left footed wingers, they should get a look in

That's not my view.

Chukwueze does a lot of dribbling and skill but the end product is very suspect.

It looks good and dangerous but in terms of being effective and impact. I think he needs to be more intelligent and know when to pick a pass and find his team mates more.

Dennis has not been tested to really know what he can do. Seyi Ojo may seem boring and lacking in the flair and flamboyance we in the SE are use too. But his stats say he is effective.

Sadiq Umar was woeful in Rangers and has done nothing to justify any call up.

There is more justification for the call up of Seyi Ojo.

From what I saw in that Brazil match, I beg to differ. I remember in particular how he mad a pun point cross to Osimhen that the latter connected with a header for a shot on goal. He just need to mix up his game. He can put in a good cross. And his shot on goal has not been way off. He’s scored in the La Liga on several occasions.

Onuachu has several bad moments. Failing to make good passes or hold on to the ball.

He was poor on one-on-one challenges

Maduka didn’t look jittery at all. Just say he wasn’t really tested.

benji93:
Honestly, I am not sold on Maduka. He looked jittery, and didn't have much to do. That being said, I don't think we have enough to fault his game, cos the Nigerian team was under a lot of pressure. He deserves another chance though. For those suggesting Ezenwa should have been called upon instead, I think you should fold your arms an wait. A good number of us here have repeatedly faulted Maduka' s call-up, so it's only reasonable that Rohr features him, perhaps there is something he sees in the guy, we are not seeing. Perhaps there are still some stuffs he's not completely clueless about grin. For Aribo, although the guy looks good, for the last 2 games the guy faded away for a large part of the second half. If you ask me, I think that's a problem, but again the whole team was bad during that period of storm. It could either be tactics (lack of continuity over two halves) or just the way he plays. I would assume it's the former though given his moment of brilliance late in the game, although even the worst of players are allowed to be brilliant momentarily. We really need that number 10. Iwobi has been consistently disappearing these days. Chukwueze, such a talented young chap, overconfidence will not kill you. In situations where the right back matches you pace for pace, only your decisions can put you over the hump. I liked Ajayi's burst forward into the midfield area but you better be sure of what you are doing man grin. Ekong, as usual what can say, the guy has grown into his role at the heart of the defence. Ndidi, floor general manhandling the samba boys earlier on in the midfield. Awaziem, solid overall, impressed by his timely defending generally, didn't impress much on the offensive though. Jamilu was not quite good overall, but he had his moments defensively. Osimhen, teriffic upfront. I said it a while ago, he can be devastating when he moves around, wide sometimes. Onuachu, i guess he was brought in to bring the brazilian backline under pressure, by feeding off long balls, but he was literally running around like he had a boil on his balls grin. Moses wasn't good, but he wasn't terrible either. He needs to add more spices to his game. He was helping out defensively, that's good when you are not doing too well upfront, and that assist was timely, he passed it when there was just enough space for Aribo to penetrate. Usually, for every team there is a period of storm within a match, but finding a way to weather the storm, when it starts mounting is a quality of a good coach. Rohr has mostly failed in that aspect so far. It's becoming a trend. I don't like Rohr, he stagnates a lot, I would think that's the limit of his understanding of the game, and he has not evolved much with this team, I guess we can blame old age for that grin.He manages to get some decent results though. Peace.

I am disappointed with the way we conceded that goal sha. We have enough size to cause trouble but people are switching off and missing assignments.

First I am angry that Casemiro turned into Sergio Ramos all of a sudden and then we were reluctant to go after the loose ball. The boys have to grow up in this regard if they are to ever reach their potential. We need to score goals on set pieces not the other way around

We have been giving Samu excuses for a while and i think it is time he stepped up his game. Picking the right pass and choosing the right time to take on players matters a lot to what extent a player will succeed. Truth is we really do not have wingers.

I don't think this is a wise quote to be honest, it is very discouraging for local players and kills their moral. If we are to go by this logic then Etebo would never make the setup. Who said we can't get rare gems in our league? I will never say such a thing to the media if i were a coach

John Obi Mikel has revealed that he wanted to call time on his international career with the Super Eagles in 2013 but was persuaded by the Nigeria Football Federation to rescind his decision.

The Chelsea legend finally said goodbye to the national team after thirteen years following the Super Eagles third place finish at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, and the game against Madagascar on June 30 was his last international match.

Mikel participated in five different Africa Cup of Nations and was a key member of the Super Eagles during the 2014 and 2018 World Cups.

''I served the national team for 13 years, most of them captain. In this period, we have achieved significant successes as a team,'' Mikel said in an interview with Trabzonspor's official magazine, as quoted via 61 Saat.

''I first wanted to leave in 2013, but as a result of our negotiations with the authorities, I decided to continue''.

Mikel decided to retire from the national team because he wanted to give the younger players a chance and also focus on his club career.

''We currently have very talented young players. They're all bright. I think these players can handle the challenges. I had to make room for them.

''Besides, I don't have many years for football in front of me. I want to focus on my team in the remaining period,'' Mikel added.

Mikel played 89 games for Nigeria, making him the country's third most capped player behind Vincent Enyeama and Joseph Yobo.

You see why i dont like england because they are average and they are very bias including southgate

Michael keane has not been doing well and he started last game and southgate saw that he flopped, instead of him to give tomori a chance he prefers Tyrone Mings who has not done better than tomori this season
