Let me guess, she cooperated because no one would belive her? The accuser was a powerful man or close family member/friend? She wanted to cover her shame? What does all these excuses have in common? In the eyes of the law, your case becomes even more difficult to prove as time goes by. If you believe it is okay to accuse someone after a decade or more of something as despicable as rape then you MUST also believe that EVIDENCE is of the highest priority, is this UNREASONABLE? Perhaps you're not nterested in legal justice but rather screaming on social media taking one side or the other....lol
Even with all the info available in the open, it's no hard to see evidence of where the truth lies. Very high probability the Coza pastor raped her.

I'm not disputing that, I'm disputing the fact that no competent court can ever convict him based on the evidence so far. Which is why it is laughable that the OP condemned people criticizing her or asking questions.

My brother is it today you realized that majority of Nigerians don't have sense

Instead of Nigerians to focus on protesting and addressing the political woes in Nigeria which gave birth to every other nonsense happening in Nigeria today, they are busy wasting their time on nonsense rape accusation.

If Nigeria is working politically and leadership wise, there will be working Police and working judicial systems to address any rape issue and get the victims prosecuted without delay which will put fear in the hearts of future rapists not to try, knowing if they do, the law will catch up with them.

So safarigirl you and your likes should focus your efforts on addressing the Nigerian political mess first in order to get Nigeria working first, once that is addressed, rape and even sex for grade by lecturers and sex for jobs and sex for promotion will all die natural deaths or reduce to barest minimum.

All these noise about Busola Dakolo rape accusation is a waste of time honestly, Nigeria is going through a political mess right now and you guys are wasting time chasing clout in the name of whatever nonsense angry

Franchsang, I would like to put a different spin on your objections. I agree--on one level, the fuss about this one rape case trial by social media, by people who weren't there, is a waste of time. HOWEVER: This case opens the conversation on social attitudes on rape; just one of many areas of Nigerian society that is ailing, and failing its members.

Nigeria is not working politically and leadership wise, and simply waiting for that to change for the better, on its own, may be a long wait--agreed. But as policy and leadership are outgrowths of the society that they govern and lead, changing the society that begets its leadership, is the way to change its leadership.

Discussing the dynamics of rape so they are better understood, and the current attitudes toward, and justification of, rape--for example--to start convincing people to change their views, IS a step toward healing the society that permits its leaders to rape it repeatedly. This IS a step toward repairing the political mess--raising awareness, increasing engagement, and reducing apathy within the population. Attitudes toward leaders, and attitudes toward rape, are not separate things. The same dynamic is condoned, and at work, in both the political and social spheres. The social sphere is where each individual can, right now, reevaluate and adjust his or her attitude toward rape (in this case), and toward the society they want to live in, and create, through their own behaviour and participation. It is in discussions like these that individuals can evaluate and adjust their attitudes toward the kinds of leaders they want to raise and elect.

There is a great deal of hard truth in what safarigirl wrote. Remove the Busola/Dakolo references if they bother you, and take the rest to heart, and to mind.

I'm sure people like you will provide much needed support for them, while calling your daughter a liar and an olosho, so, they will be okay, will your daughter be okay though?
so when anybody claim rape without evidence we should just accept because of your foolish sentiment right? Educate your daughter's to speak up if anyone comes close to touching them and they will always speak up

I'm telling you, people saying why don't they speak up then, I pray you never experience it. Rape most times is from people you love so much, people you trust so much. It would be hard for you to believe they actually did that to you, so tell me how the he.ll do you tell, explain or narrate to others what you find so difficult to believe yourself, what seems like a dream to you, what feels, I can't explain the feeling, all I know is even if it takes 50 years for you to be able to stand up to your victim, it is still rape and that 50 years is your now, it's the right time.

And who would people say a 17 years old is old enough or nonsense? So far she never said yes to the sex, so far she never gave her consent, even if she's 50 years old, it's still rape.

And the fact that she waited for him to bring a drink and share it with her or something, you people don't know the emotional and mental trauma that follows rape, you don't. And that it happened many times, you still don't know, you don't know how a rapist is capable of toying with your emotions, making you feel no good, spoiling your self esteem, you just don't know.

And that she could have told a family member, you don't know how a rapist will manipulate you to thinking telling your family member will not belive and hate you and yes that's true. Most parents are insensitive, they really are. If not, a kid that's always cheerful on seeing an individual or always wanting to be with the person suddenly becomes isolated from the individual and never wants to be around the individual, wants to be alone instead of being with the individual and you dismiss it as a childish behaviour or childish rebel, you simply don't know what's up, most times it's not

And saying she's married and so she should keep quiet, you don't know how the psychological effect of the rape is affecting her marriage, you don't know how it's affecting relationships, you don't know. Forget the smiles and all, you really don't know.

You don't know how it hurts seeing your rapist move on with his/her life and living fine while you carry the hurt and trauma all along, while they are the reason why certain things are never the same in your life, You don't know.

Yes, you don't know the everlasting effect rape has on an individual psychologically. It's true that if you've never been in someone's shoe, never say you know where it hurts, because you don't and you can never do.

There are just some hurts we don't speak about, some hurts that's difficult to speak about and if someone eventually find the courage to speak about it, we just have to encourage them because they will never go away until we have spoken about it.

so after 50 years you come and tell us rape without evidence and you want us to just accept simply because you said so....lol. Instead of telling ladies to speak up immediately and investigation carried out immediately and the guilty one sent to jail immediately you are advising them to wait and just get justice from social media...mad ppl everywhere

You know I actually wanted to ignore before, but then sometimes you have to help people out of their ignorance. I never asked anyone to wait and get justice from social media. All I said was that if she couldn’t speak up immediately and it took her 50 years to find her voice, no one should shut her down simply because it has been long or whatever. My post is actually encouraging everyone to speak up, regardless of the sex. Be it a male or female. So next time, don’t be so eager to type something, read and understand. And I’m not going to reply rudely to your “mad people everywhere” ‘cos it actually got me annoyed and I won’t want to give a reply that would cause issues. So FYI I am not mad and you are the one who should read and understand instead of giving a reply even a patient with BAD wouldn’t give. Thank you

All allegations can never be true, rape or not. But I have this gift of "knowing", not in all cases but those that touch my nerve. Like rape, murder and abuse.

Let's put busola's case aside. Look at the accused intently, do you truly believe he's innocent?

I've known fatoyinbo before now. Not in person but on social media. Everytime I come across his picture, I say to myself, "Is this one a pastor? How can people not see?"

So you 100% believe this Fatoyinbo rape accusations? Don't you think its more prudent to leave room for elements of doubt?

Ah mba. If fatoyinbo could fuckkk an older ese walter, I don't see why he isn't capable of raping and manipulating a younger busola.
