Extrahostpro, I Hope This Is Not A Scam. by lloydpres: 5:26pm On Oct 15, 2019
Good day house.

In the process of supporting the naira or trying to build the Nigerian economy, I have put myself in a dire situation.

Extrahostpro; a Nigerian hosting company has refused to refund my money, how?

Some days back, my assistant was to purchase a reseller account for a client. The instruction was for her to pay for 6 months which should cost 24k.
Mistakenly, she paid 48k which was an annual service.

For these guys to even activate my service took them another 48hours.

Now seeing the mistake of my assistant, I began calling these guys after I had written tickets upon tickets for a refund of 24k and for them to change my service to semi annual.

They never picked all my calls, except for once when they said it’s past closing hour and there’s nothing they can do unless their MD approves on a certain date.

I kept calm and waited.

I reminded them again via ticket and all they could do is place my ticket on hold. Ticket has been placed on hold and not attended or responded to.
Each time I remind them, they place my ticket on hold.

If I call they refuse picking my calls, when I chat them on WhatsApp, they tell me they don’t have access to my tickets.

I have been respecting my old age and sticking to foreign hosts, just that my PayPal account is having issues, now I found myself in this position.

I have kept calm and waited and all they did was to ignore my tickets, this is why I am bringing this here, for the world to see and maybe their so called MD will see this and will respond.

Please Extrahostpro, refund my balance, it is not a thing of FORCE to buy a particular service I don’t need...

At bolded, i hope you have learned your lesson.

You cannot afford to sabotage your business because you're trying to support naira.
Its not even your business which makes it worse.

Since the domainking and whogoshost event 3years ago.
I have vowed to never to host anything serious in Nigeria.

Something always go wrong at one point or the other.

My brother, this your statement is a home-run, a 3-point shot, you hit the nail right on the head,
You cannot afford to sabotage your business because you're trying to support naira.

A couple of years ago, my first major venture onto the web got sabotaged as I wanted to support the Naira by all means. 1-whole year got wasted with Web4Africa.

Now, and years later, I have learnt the ropes, and I'm providing webservices for a good number of clients. I still have the same thought in my head - as in your statement, thus I go out of my way to provide the best services for my clients, because I know that people wont want to sabotage their business' just because they want to patronize me. And it pays off, coz my customers are happy, they know they are in secure hands, and I'm happy too.

regards

I know how you feel.

Just try and get your money back and stick to the best when it comes to webhosting for your clients.

In my 10years of doing business the last 2years have been the most peaceful. No downtimes except for my carelessness.

Even the pooerest foreign webshosts do better customer care than Nigerians. Its not totally pur fault, its the enabling environment. It's the failed power system. I almost thought of starting webhosting myseld. But Nigerian factor will f*ck it ip anyways.

Oga, you're contradicting yourself.

Initially, you purchased a Nigerian host because you wanted to support the Naira, then in a flip you actually purchased it because your PayPal had issues. tongue

Well, sorry for the issue you're passing through, but you could have gone for reputable Nigerian hosting with a good track record.

We even have some here on nairaland.

Also, I don't think any host, including foreign ones can refund part of your money and half the hosting plan you purchased.

From what you posted up there, your assistant paid for 1year hosting instead of 6months and you're contacting the company to reduce it by half and refund half of your money.

Personally, I don't think any hosting company -including foreign ones- can do what you're requesting for.

Thats where you are wrong bro

namecheap sometime ago, we paid for a two year plan...

But after some issues we decided to move to another host..

We explained to Namecheap and the refunded one year charge..
