What do you understand by God's omnipotence and omnibenevolence? Have you seen Thomas Aquinas' works on these?

I wouldn't say some things so as not to make people despondent.

Any philosopher here?

The sperm was completely blind. How can a blind man f*ck at night. He is the cause of this whole mess. Don’t duck at night but he didn’t obey the gods. Nothing is hereditary. He was only disobedient.

This is proof God does not exist. If he does, then he is either powerless or evil.

There is absolutely no gain whatsoever in serving him.

Sometimes, sarcasm doesn't come out rightly and may portray us in bad light. There's no doubt in my mind that you're not mocking the Cobhams, I'm sure you're not. However, that didn't come through properly. I'll edit that comment and rephrase. I would never question God's creation. Their story is so touchy and emotional. I pray his wife finds strength within her to deal with the issues. I look forward to a time when the blind will actually see!. When the lame will walk, and the dead would hear again. When pain and suffering will all be gone.
Unfortunately this will not happen, unless science comes through

Does it mean that blindness is hereditary?

I thought the senior Cobhams became blind due to an accident.
I think it's hereditary, Cobhams was born blind too.

Africans and mysticism... This calls for scientific investigation and a scientific solution must be arrived at. Genetic engineering

Well, Africans aren't the only religious bunch.
My reference, however, was not to the Cobham's story.
It was to a preceding conversation...if you trace the line of comments to the earlier point, you'll understand the whole picture.

When you love, ask questions and do investigations. Blindness can be inherited like any other family disease. For this to happen to Cobhams direct descendant shows that it’s a strong trait that would have been seen more than once in his own extended family. But they will hide that fact so he can marry. This is why sometimes marrying from places you cannot adequately carry out investigations is very tough.

Didn't know blindness could be hereditary ooh!

But cobham Asuquo why is your gene so strong on the facials why did it not just allow your wife's gene on that department.

Anyway the young man's disability is made lighter by the shear size of his father's pocket, ironically even those with complete sensory organs like Evans, Mc Oluomo, Naira Marley and Buhari have done more damage and constituted untold nuisance to the society lipsrsealed

Chai...You wicked oooo!!!

On the glasses thing, I'm in total support. I have a friend who was using eye classes from secondary school. Till now, he still wears it. Guess what? His first son's lenses are thicker than my friend's. But on this blindness, I feel so sad reading the piece. Ha, all I can say that, God in His infinite mercy gives her the support needed to carry on. Since she said the situation has improved, it means there's still hope for the boy to see more clearly. Out God does wonders.

Yeah it definitely runs in families though you will still get kids whos parents dont wear glasses while they wear, and vice versa

Yes, hopefully the advancements in medical science will help them out

There's no need to blame God.. Humans are limited in wisdom, knowledge and understanding,no matter how hard u try.. something is mysterious about him(Cobham)..Disease,curses,goodluck/badluck can be hereditary, that's the mystery of life which sometimes is beyond science or human comprehension..Could also be handiwork of God to proof his greatness..
