oluayebenz: Am sure 28k dols has more buying power in america than 10m Nigerian money in Nigeria. Na big money sha .but can it get u a piece of land in asaba core area abi lekki or VGC or banana island or eko Atlantic city... Or can it build u a duplex or buy a brand new 2019 Toyota camry. Regular things we should be able to afford. Am not boasting but 10m can only ensures u live a management life. Like build a small bungalow in a low cost area with moderate finishing and epileptic power supply cos a15kva Mikano generator is around 6m. Not easy to come by but doesn't guarantee anything big.....so to me, na small money. 6 Likes |

Thisnut: Think of the life u want to live and check whether 10m can do 10% of what u want in life...scratch that, what u NEED in life. It only makes sense when u have good roads, efficient power supply, affordable schools, good Medicare, standard housing policies etc.... Once u see a land on a tarred road , asking price hits 20m. Pls as long as naija is concerned 10m is not money. 3 Likes |

zamirikpo: And you think 28k can buy a house or brand new car in the USA? Nigeria is more cheaper than the US. What I know is in US low earner live a better life, stable everything unlike Nigeria..... I dont think 28k is enough to pay down payment on mortgage of 500k usd house and that money will go a long way in Nigeria. 7 Likes |

oluayebenz: $28k in usa will get u a brand new tear rubber bro. It may not be 2019 model but it will comfortable get u a 2015 or even 2016 model of car. Again it depends on the car, in some parts of usa, $28k will get u a down payment of mortgage. Then in Canada, 28$usd will get u a down payment for a house of about $350k to 400. And that same $28k usd will get u a brand new 2016 to 17 model of a car. $28usd will buy a mobile home wel equipped. Speaking with experience though. 7 Likes |

I hate it when those that have not lived outside of naija will begin to compare buying lands or house in the USA and naija. It’s far cheaper here than abroad, even when you provide all the basic amenities for yourself in naija. 7 Likes |

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by NL1960: 4:21pm On Oct 16, 2019 |
NL1960: ahiboilandgas: That means using 400k as the amount for the house and doing a down payment of 28k, this leaves an outstanding balance of 372k excluding interest. 2500 per month gives a yearly amount of 30k. A yearly payment of 30k on 372k gives about 12 years. Let me say 13 years when interest is factored in. Not bad. The real problem of housing in Nigeria is that you are expected to cough out the total amount for a house at once. The same with purchase of a new car. $400k @ 360 gives 144m. How many people have 144m to drop for a house at once?. 11 Likes |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by ahiboilandgas: 4:35pm On Oct 16, 2019 |
NL1960:they didn't design their society like that for u to cough out 400k at once ,They know majority are salary earners with stable jobs can pay up over a 20 years period ...this make the mortgage company builds beautiful estate and well 0lan Neigbourhoods ,but in confuse society like najia they expect u to bring out 100m to stay in lekki ....this responsible for the corruption in Nigeria and desperation to steal and cut coners 19 Likes 1 Share |

oluayebenz:in 2017 I bought Hyundai sonata for 19k usd brand new. You can get a lot of cars for under 16k usd brand new. There are some eligibility that can qualify you for zero down payment on houses. ie VA loan. 10M naira might not be able to fix all you problems, but it's not ordinary anywhere in the world 6 Likes |

It is not about smiling at the treasury bill and Eurobond certificates of investment. We can't even live a decent life just because of useless people in the neighbourhood and kidnappers. 5 Likes |
