No, you can’t play around with sin. You can’t leave room for it in your life at all.
Give sin and inch and it will take a mile. A marriage. A career. A ministry. Sin will go the distance and take your life.

Jesus addressed this in rather extreme, harsh terms in his sermon on the mount.
If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.
Matthew 5:29-30 NIV
Jesus wasn’t being literal. He was speaking in hyperbole, but his point is strong. When sin tries to trap you, take radical action.

In talking with men who want to overcome addictions or repeating sinful behaviors, it’s so common to encounter a seriousness when it comes to wanting forgiveness for what has already been committed, but a half-hearted approach to the prevention of recurrence.

I had an affair. That’s over, but I can still be friends with her, right?

No. Cut it off.

I looked at porn habitually, but I can still browse the web without any filtering or accountability, right?

No. Cut it off.

I got a little drunk almost every night, but I can still have a beer with the boys now and then, right?

No. Cut it off.

When you have a relationship with idols, destroy them completely.

Crush the curse.

Slay the dragon.

Get help. Become accountable. Talk to your spouse, a counselor, a coach, a mentor, or whomever you trust the most to give you both truth and grace.
No compromise. Nothing that is left of your old sinful tendencies has any power over you, thanks to the work of Christ on the cross and the work of the Holy Spirit in your life. But it’s up to you, the warrior, to guard against any potential re-entry of sin into your world.

Don’t misunderstand.

This isn’t a matter of being perfect in order to please God or earn his favor. This isn’t about controlling your behavior by your own willpower or performing your way out of an unhealthy pattern.

You’re a Son (or daughter) of His house entirely by grace from the very moment you follow the King, Jesus Christ.
This is a matter of realizing who you now are, what you’re now capable of, and growing up into the new clothes God has given you.

I believe that great blessings lie on the other side of the curse that needs crushed in your life!

Could it be any clearer? Our old way of life was nailed to the Cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life, no longer at sin's every beck and call!

What we believe is this:

If we get included in Christ's sin-conquering death, we also get included in his life-saving resurrection.

We know that when Jesus was raised from the dead it was a signal of the end of death-as-the-end. Never again will death have the last word

When Jesus died, he took sin down with him, but alive he brings God down to us.

From now on, think of it this way:

Sin speaks a dead language that means nothing to you;

God speaks your mother tongue, and you hang on every word.

You are dead to sin and alive to God.

That's what Jesus did!

That means you must not give sin a vote in the way you conduct your lives. Don't give it the time of day.

Don't even run little errands that are connected with that old way of life. Throw yourselves wholeheartedly and full-time into God's way of doing things.

Sin can't tell you how to live. After all, you're not living under that old tyranny any longer. You're living in the freedom of God!

Romans 6:6-14

Why will you allow sin take over the wheel of your life and drive you to destruction?

Why will you allow sin hold the rein of your life when you've got the power to take charge through Christ Jesus?

Why will you allow sin pays the piper and consequently dictates the rhythm you swing to when you can always say no to it through Christ?

Why and why will you be brought to a mere piece of bread because you cannot say NO to the seductive talk of some temptress?

Sin is a curse, you've got the power to crush it through Christ Jesus.

As I stood at the window of my house
looking out through the shutters,
Watching the mindless crowd stroll by,
I spotted a young man without any sense.

Arriving at the corner of the street where she lived,
then turning up the path to her house.
It was dusk, the evening coming on,
the darkness thickening into night.

Just then, a woman met him—
she'd been lying in wait for him, dressed to seduce him.
Brazen and brash she was,
restless and roaming, never at home,
Walking the streets, loitering in the mall,
hanging out at every corner in town.

She threw her arms around him and kissed him,
boldly took his arm and said,

"I've got all the makings for a feast—
today I made my offerings, my vows are all paid,
So now I've come to find you,
hoping to catch sight of your face—and here you are!
I've spread fresh, clean sheets on my bed,
colorful imported linens.
My bed is aromatic with spices
and exotic fragrances.
Come, let's make love all night,
spend the night in ecstatic lovemaking!
My husband's not home; he's away on business,
and he won't be back for a month."

Soon she has him eating out of her hand,
bewitched by her honeyed speech.

Before you know it, he's trotting behind her,
like a calf led to the butcher shop,
Like a stag lured into ambush and then shot with an arrow,
Like a bird flying into a net
not knowing that its flying life is over.

So, friends, listen to me,
take these words of mine most seriously.

Don't fool around with a woman like that,
don't even stroll through her neighborhood.

Countless victims come under her spell,
she's the death of many a poor man.
She runs a halfway house to hell,
fits you out with a shroud and a coffin.

If Joseph Jacob had not crushed that evil entreat from that woman who intended him to be a gigolo, his glorious destiny would have been crushed!

He eventually occupied his space in destiny because he knew to say NO!

Crush the curse, say NO to sin!!
