Don't deceive yourself. How many Regular Commissioned officers have you met before? Those I have come in contact with are brilliant guys. Don't ever assume that you are more intelligent than anybody unless you know what stuff the person is made of. Some of them were ) undergraduates in the university before they gained admission in NDA. I know some whose passion for knowledge drove them to acquire PhD

And book brilliance is NOT what they consider when they select military leaders. Combat experience, leadership (command experience), geopolitics, ethnicity and faith are factors politicians consider when making choice of who will be military chief.

Again experience obtained from brigade commander appointment will help him gain consideration for General Officer Commanding (GOC) appointment, Corps Commander, e.t.c., when he becomes major general.

But I must tell you the truth, NOT all SSC guys will be able to convert to RC. Many will retire as Lieutenant Colonel, others will retire as Colonel, others will retire as Brigadier General. Very very few of them will reach Major General.

The DSSC guys, you can't be a battalion commander. I must say the fact here. In any corps where Regular Officers dominate, the regular guys will always hold leadership position. E.g Corps of Engineers, Signals, Supply & Transport etc.
But in Corps like Medical, Education, Legal services, Chaplain where DSSC officers dominate, the commanders are mostly DSSC officers.

All in all, the corps that are actually powerful both in military terms and money terms are controlled by Regular Officers.

DSSC Course 23 in 2016, I no carry any signed form go and I still enter Jaji eventually with my signed forms tho.

trust me on this one your local government chairman can sign for you. I have done it more than once, don't just go and suffer ur self looking for military personnel. if you have someone with the required rank in the Nigerian police from ur state he or she can still sign for you. mind you having a military personnel sign your form doesn't transcend into advantage over others.
