rume:With the present situation, for you to come any close to 189 ITA in Engineering related occupation you will need nothing less than 80/85points. 1 Like |

bligs: Haha, no chance then. I suppose in this situation, one may try 190, though I suspect the same competitive issue would arise. |

rume:190 may still be long thing depending on conditions attached to it by states, focus on the new 491 that will commence on the 14th of next month. |

Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Mcslize: 5:06pm On Oct 18, 2019 |
DOMAIM: First, do confirm if your occupation is available for the chosen visa type 189. Also check if it is available for 190. You can find out the assessment requirements for VETASSESS in their website. Just navigate through the site to find all you need regarding their assessment requirements. |

rume: I don't think Mechanical Engineering occupation is that competitive. Check if you are eligible for 190. Secure your superior English scores. Apply and remain patient for your ITA. You will surely get ITA. But it may take up to 7 to 8 months, depending on the number of applicants that are applying for that occupation. |

Actuary is on 189 and 190. What is your current occupation? Y If your job descriptions are similar to these, you can claim actuary. *Defining, analysing and solving complex financial and business problems relating to areas such as insurance premiums, annuities, superannuation funds, pensions and dividends *Examining financial projections for general insurance companies, finance companies, government and other organisations *Designing new types of policies, assessing risks and analysing investments in life insurance, superannuation funds, health insurance, friendly societies, financial markets and other areas *Formulating mathematical models to simulate processes *Applying models to experimental observations, and adjusting and recasting the models *Using numerical analysis methods to develop algorithms and perform computations *Liaising with management and clients to determine the subject or area to be surveyed or examined *Specifying the data to be collected, and the methodology to be used in collection and analysis *Evaluating and describing the reliability and utility of source information *Analysing and interpreting data, and producing relevant statistics to describe and infer particular trends and patterns DOMAIM: |

Mcslize: There are options with 190 for Mechanical Engineers and Biomedical Engineers indeed. I did check. No such opening for 489 though (Mech Eng). Even though 489 will be replaced by 491, I suspect the same thing/similar thing when launched. I do wonder how competitive these occupation groups are under 189 (because of your statement). Anyhow, ...long way to go, one step at a time. |

Mcslize: It is not about the recent additional point I guess , because there are so many single applicants who will automatically gain the same point as well. But this is a Lord's doing . |

rume:. 0 chances for 189. Even with 80 points, you have to wait for unending months to get ITA. Secure the English. Work on the CDR 491 is the visa to look at |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Mcslize: 11:22pm On Oct 18, 2019 |
rume: It still depends on your marital status, age and English scores . Are you married? If your partner occupation is on the same list, she can assess her occupation and claim partner points. However, if you are single, then that's a huge plus too as you will get 70 points for 189 and 75 for 190 but with the help of superior English scores. With 75 points, it will only be a matter of the long wait of 7 to 8 months to get ITA. It might even come quicker than you expect. Get things done and join the queue and wait patiently. |

Mcslize:Mechanical Engineering is competitive and the minimum point for ITA 189 is 85points base on last round of invitation. https://deltaimmigration.com.au/Mechanical-Engineer/233512.htm 190 comes with conditions Victoria required at least 5years proven working experience. South Australia - No chain migration and must be living in the state for at least 6months. Tasmania has its own conditions likewise others. His best bet is 491. |

Mcslize: Why the difference in points for being unmarried under 189 and 190? Isn't it the same 10 points added to both? |

rume: You can claim same 10 points if your partner occupation is on the same list and is assessed with competent English. But if no assessment but your partner possesses competent English alone, you can claim 5 points for that. So, it is still the same 10 points as single individuals.

Mcslize: I was asking about the discrepancy in points for 189 and 190 for single individuals based on what you wrote. You mentioned a possible increase in points to 75 points with 190 and 70 points with 189 in your previous statement. You wrote: However, if you are single, then that's a huge plus too as you will get 70 points for 189 and 75 for 190 but with the help of superior English scores. |

rume: That's because state nomination gives you 5 points for nominating you, and that's the state you will land and stay for 2yrs if offered the visa 190. |

I don't think you can assess for an Actuary. For you to get a positive response from vetassess, you must have between 1 - 3 years experience in the last 3 years as an Actuary. How many years of experience do you have as an Investment Analyst? DOMAIM: |
