Let me air my mind on the issue of consequential salary adjustment trending on social media. Federal Government & labour Agreement GL 07- 23.2% GL 08- 20% GL 09- 19% GL 10-14 = 16% GL 15-17 = 14% Let us be guided by principles and facts. The consequential adjustment should be as follows. Formula: Gross Pay B4 MW X % increase= salary adjustment I.e Gross Earnings B4 tax = Gross Pay + Salary Adjustment Example 1 For an officer on GL 09 Step 8 GP X 19/100= Salary Adjustment I.e #77,463.46 X 19/100= #14,718.06 Gross Earnings (G.E)= G.P + S.A G.E =#77,463.46+#14,718.06= #92,181.52 Gross Earnings/Gross Pay= Salary B4 tax. I hope it will help you understand better. Thank you Nigerians. Uwa Philip B.SC.Ed, M.Ed & Ph.D Education Planning in view. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Please don't get yourselves confused. Minimum wage is the money you earn at the end of service rendered, might be weekly or monthly. Before now, 18,000 is the minimum wage in Nigeria and that is what Grade Level 01 earned in Civil Service. Now that it is being increased to 30,000, that is what the lowest level in Nigeria which is Grade Level 01 will earn. 66.6% is the increment. Here is how the calculation is. 18,000/100 = 180 180*66.6 = 11,988 For someone in Grade Level 01 18,000 + 11,988 = 29,988 (New Wage) 1 Like |

[From my own little experience, Basic is your salary without alowances like hosing, transport etc. The gross is basic with allowances. So, if they calculate it with basic, it's worthless. quote author=Iseoluwani post=83279556]reasonable and augmentative thread like this, you wont see yoot coming here to iron it but when u see thread of BBnaija and useless others... they will rush[/quote] |

Minimum wage consist of basic+housing,+ transport, +utility+meal subsidy and then divide the total by the percentage of your level. Minimum wage (basic, housing ,transport, utility, meal subsidy)divide by 20% (if you are in level 7). The answer is what is added to you. See attached below
