In as much as I don't want to comment in this thread this comment of yours made me arrive at chipping in my thought.

1). Under no headline news did I come across *Nigerian government or officials went to seek/beg from Ghana* to dialogue on finding a solution to the boarder issue. *Ghana did.

2). Chest beating online isn't the same with doing that in person (even ant can form elephant online)

3). You kept shouting GUTA ,is that the ruling party or a new set of touts?

The remaining jagons you've been spilling are nothing when it comes to Nigeria.

Next......

psychologygh:
feed on this cos your coward government have already agreed to open the borders for only Ghanaian trucks inside and outside Nigeria cos they know the implications if they try anything stupid with us.GUTA is still not happy and wants your goods banned and you will be crying xenophobia and ECOWAS very soon you zoo creature. And why don't you screenshot your stupid zoo phone for us.Do you even have light in your kiosk.Have you ever experienced 24 hours electricity before.Don't let me charge on you boy.

I don't argue, I drive points.

It really doesn't matter where your bloodline leads you, what I'm saying is, Yorubaland borders are the only ones closed and the decision was made by a non-Yoruba when we are tribal people. Are the English the ones making decisions on Scottish or Irish borders area with other countries? So why should Yoruba allow this? It's ok to be in the same country if I'm in charge of my territory and you are in charge of yours and meet in the middle for general affairs. Right now it's a marriage of convenience and Yoruba are the ones being used to sustain useless regions of Nigeria.

the motive is to curb smuggling of fire arms and food products, if Ghana can't strike a deal with the government and prevent smuggling from their on end just like Mexico and America are doing at their borders I don't see Buhari bowing to that threat and at the end would suffer before we start reconsidering opening it, as of the moment we can still absorb anything we produce until we reach a sufficiency level that is when that threat would mean a lil thing but for now if Ghana yield to the trade it would result to a trade war and grudge because as I said the motive is to prevent smuggling n not a trade war, GH gvt should work on preventing anything smuggling from their end n watch how things unravel

And who are the consumers of 90% of such Rice ? ( Nigeria) You shortchange our Government. When it only takes 3/ 4 months to plant the same rice locally here
have you asked yourself why Nigerians choose to import rice through Benin Republic?

• FG: Should we increase Taxes to fund the budget?

• Facebook NG: Something must be wrong with you. Do you want to kill the masses?

• Facebook NG: So you want to sell our national assets to your friends like you sold Etisalat to your family Abi?

• FG: So what can we do?

• Facebook NG: Remove Fuel Subsidies ( under recovery), you will raise N1 Trillion.

• FG: Great, we will remove fuel subsidies?

• Facebook NG: Why would you remove subsidies? Do you want to kill us?

• FG: But most of the fuel is being smuggled accross the border.

• Facebook NG: Empty brain, Close the border Joor!

• FG: Closes the border

• Facebook NG: Why must you close the border? Do you want to kill their economy? Besides the price of rice has gone up.

• FG: But we now produce rice locally?

Facebook NG: Which useless rice. Show me the plantation.

Lmao at this doofus.

I have lived in upper manya krobe, Up north and now in central region and all i see are smelly pit latrines at the back of some homes with community pit latrines in designated spots for mass use. Very disgusting sight which is why many of your women suffer from what you ghanaians call WHITE frequently due to the mass usage of these unhygienic pit latrines .

A home with WC in Ghana is regarded as luxurious. I am a Nigerian in Ghana and speak the realities while you are a Ghanaian trying to lie and deceive others with your fake eldorado images about Ghana.

Attached pics are what a typical bath house looks like for a ghana home and what the community pit latrine looks like. Stinky things

smuggle goods do not pass through Ghana

as everyone knows, Ghana is an expensive place to live
Ghana tax everything that flys or walk .

so if your government is targetting smuggling, it should look within and fix it problems and stop picking a new problem with a country it cant compete with.

When Ghana locked just 400 Nigerian shops in a town in Kumasi alone, your government and trade unions were organizing protest at the ECOWAS office crying xenophobia and free trade buh you're here shouting Giant of Africa because you have unilaterally closed your borders to starve yourselves to death. GUTA had always hated you since Kwame Nkrumah and you have foolishly gave them a chance to eliminate you from Ghana. For your information millions of Nigerians live in Ghana and do trade of imports and exports. GUTA was the one who locked all your shops in Kumasi. Now tell me,Ghana exports goods worth just 80 million dollars to Nigeria for a country who exports 17 billion dollars worth of goods outside, less than 0.5% goes to Nigeria buh Nigeria exports goods worth 303 million dollars to Ghana in a year.If Ghana bans your goods, tell me who loses more. The minister is just a diplomat who knows how ugly it will be if Ghana retaliates so she's going diplomatic first to tell you to comply ECOWAS protocols .Warning to your country if you refuse her diplomatic settlement. Ghana never needs Nigeria.

Nigeria can't survive war against Ghana because Ghana with US base is actually a country but Nigeria is not a country. Nigeria is a giant fraud and confusion.
My brother bone that thing. US that will withdraw their troops before the first shots are fired. US that ran away from Northern Syria because Erdogan threatened to invade. They were even still on the run while Turkey was bombing the Kurds.
As I said Nigeria and Ghana should never fight, as we share the same history of colonialisation and exploitation by the British. We were the same under British West Africa and people were relocated within the two countries seamlessly. We should see each other as brothers. I hate this new trends of unhealthy rivalry and competition.

Don't confuse growth with development. While Nigeria has the biggest economy in Africa, she is far behind in development. Ghana infrastructures are fairer than Nigeria's. Ghana is better than Nigeria in several ratings.

Oppose to what many believe, even some economists, population is not really a good thing. small countries can devour Nigeria economically and even in warfare. compare Canada or Israel to Nigeria.

in 2006, we were 140 million people. less than 14 years later, we are 200 million. 60 million souls within 13 years! we pop out children like fish. and now the effect of having children without the means of taking care of them is seeing in the society.

If I have a country with landmasse of 3000km square and the people are doing well, who cares about your 900,000 plus landmass with massive poverty and unemployment?

Isreal is about 3000km square...in the range of Lagos or Bayelsa in size. it has per capital GDP of over 40,000. And God forbid Nigeria having belligerent encounter with Isreal.

Nigeria is highly disfunctional society with disfunctional and dummy leaders.

Do you think Ghana have your time to be exporting rice to your country. We're having the same issue when government spends more than 1 billion dollars a year to import rice into our country for consumption. Do you realize we are the 2nd largest consumers, market and economy in West Africa and our consumption alone is a huge chunk on our foreign exchange. We have a population of 30 million and a GDP Purchasing power of almost 200 billion dollars. Did you see me telling you Nigeria exports goods worth 306 million dollars to Ghana in 2018 alone. Our exports to Nigeria is just 80 million dollars. Togo exploits us due to their free port just like Benin does to you.We have the same issues. Our exports to Nigeria is mostly Nigerian companies who relocated to Ghana and use the ECOWAS free trade route to export some of their goods to your market. We both loose if we start a trade war buh Nigeria loses badly. That's why your government have agreed with Ghana to open a temporary corridor for Ghanaian trucks to enter and leave Nigeria amidst the border closure .GUTA still refused for that and wants a ban of Nigerian goods and traders in Ghana. Our rice is even very different from yours and you will never find your type of rice in Ghana. Our rice cooks in just 20 minutes.

You seems not to get this border closure. Exports can still be made to Nigeria but restricted to air and water borders where goods can be accounted for properly. Rate of smuggling through land borders is too enormous for the country to overlook further. The government subsidize fuel product with value running to trillions of naira in recent years but those products are being smuggled to neighboring countries for sale at a margin. We can't be bearing the cost of living of other countries at the expense of our economy. Import and export of authorised goods is still going on through water and air borders. This is not a trade war, it is a means of saving our own economy from collapse
