The Ghanaian economy is a highly dollarized one. Why? the currency has become more worthless in the last three years.

100 GHS cannot even buy 20 litres of fuel. Fuel in Ghana is pegged to the US dollar.
How much are hotel rooms in Ghana? You cannot get a hotel in Osu area for anything less than $100 (540 GHS) a night. This is for a cheap hotel. The high end ones are far more expensive. In the hotel, they will even tell you to pay in US dollars if you have.

Infrastructure: apart from better electricity and a better educational system, where are the infrastructure? Is it the roads? The roads are narrow and many have craters, not potholes.

Tax: Ghana pays VAT of 13.5% to 17.5%. A bottle of Malta Guiness is on the average, 3.5 GHS. N245 on the average; what we buy N150 here. Very expensive. One egg costs 80 pesewas for a small one and 1 GHS for a big one. That is between N56 to N70 for one, as opposed to N30 for a raw one.

Things are bloody expensive in Ghana and even cost of foodstuff is high. Enter the streets of Ghana and ask the average Ghanaian if their living costs are low. They are all complaining and their standard of living is definitely not higher than in Nigeria.

People like this fellow can talk lies thinking they can deceive everyone. I go to Ghana and stay sometimes a month there and I know what's up.

i can easily connect water to my house

80 -90 percent of Ghanaians live above the poverty line

Any economy with high wages price goods accordingly

As Nigeria’s land border closure bites West African countries, the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) has called for a total boycott of all Nigerian products imported by Ghana.
The move, the traders union believes, will force the Nigerian government to open up its land borders for foreign goods. Nigeria partially shut its borders since August.
According to Ghanaweb.com, Greater Accra Regional Secretary of GUTA, David Kwadwo Amoateng on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem, Friday said the Nigerian government has not been fair to foreign traders.
In return, he expects the Ghana government to prevent Nigerian traders from bringing goods into Ghana, but that plea has fallen on deaf ears.
“Either somebody’s bread has been buttered or we are cowards. Government is not being fair to us,” he fumed.
Mr Amoateng cited how Dangote cement had taken over the market while local ones from GHACEM are suffering.
“Let’s boycott Nigerian products as payback to their government’s action. How can we be slaves in our own country?” he said.
Mr Amoateng argued that the issue, if not checked, could hamper the Continental Free Trade Area.
Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has appealed to Ghanaian traders to remain calm as it works with the Nigerian authorities to ease its ban on the exportation of Non-traditional products.

Nigeria as a country also needs these west African countries market for our industries to keep running n continued employment guaranteed, it's time the government look into their complains n find a middle ground to solve the problem before the gang up against us, let's not decieve ourselves that we don't need them, it's going to be catastrophic if they should gang up against us.

that is the international price without subsidizes


youre too poor and wont be able to pay the same amount we pay for fuel.
it will cause a revolution in nigeria

that is why your government cant even increase the price of fuel in your country

This is a great opportunity for us to grow our local productions. For how long should Nigeria be a dumping site? At this 21 century, you have to rely on importation of Rice, Turkey and Pine Apple. They can only boast of kwame Nkrumah circle, that's the only better infrastructure in Accra. A country with one functional rail line want to compete with Nigeria. The rail line is like from effurun roundabout to sapele.

If you are importing rice into Nigeria, pass through air or sea and pay Nigeria customs the required import duty. Go to Seme border or Niger/ Katsina border now and see 1000s of their goods on line

The local rice were difficult to get.

In Lagos, I could not buy lake rice without going to certain place and with my ATM card. Even at that, it's not available for sale most times.

what is healthcare? Is healthcare imported? The agricultural products are they imported to the US? We can subsidize the amount for crude oil sold to local refinery for the purpose of refining not subsidize imported refined products.

Keep your lies to your self. The one smuggled few days ago in kastina through petrol tanker was apprehended . Just like the way the one smuggled through bus path in Lagos and kept in car bumpers and drivers seat were also apprehended
