What if someone uses 19 seconds?

Expect them to 'control-slow' the transaction processing and completion time henceforth. Nigeria has evil folks right, left and centre.

Each time you use USSD for balance check, transfer, recharge etc standard text messaging charges by service providers apply. The banks were paying the messaging charges but have now decided to tell the service providers to rather collect it from the customers henceforth.

From today, it's either I recharge via mobile app, quickteller or I buy from street vendors.

It's either I use apps like opay, quickteller, mobile apps to transfer money or I go to the bank.

That's how Alat charged me #380 to do a ussd transfer of 9k saying its #20 per second billing when using ussd channel and the billing is totally controlled by mtn

Cashless policy my left foot

Jumia one is also there

This country has n3ver had it this bad...they have imbibed FEAR in our minds. Its a tactic they used and its working.

Chile, lebanon and Hongkong are all currently protesting matters that are not even half of what Nigerians are enduring.

Hongkong is protesting extradition laws.
Lebanon is protesting increase in tax.
And chile is protesting fare increases also.

In Nigeria...

Sars are killing .
Pos taxes
Banking tax
Border closure
Police brutality
Oppression
Illegal detainment
Tyranny
...the list is endless and YET we are all as calm because we FEAR.

We are just stupid masses led by brilliant leaders.

Wait, you mean there is tax on using pos as means of payment?
Re: Banks To Charge You For Recharging Via USSD As From October 21 by HowDareU: 2:52pm On Oct 20, 2019
From time immemorial, banks sole objective is to make profit. However, they are over stepping thier boundries with this latest charges. OK, I understand; the quest to reconsolidate. ROGUES! Customers must stand up and oppose this nonsense, else it will be a smooth ride for them; a norm I must confess. Check my blog on security and safety issues: www.securitymattersafrica.com

"OOH LORD DELIVER ME FROM THE GOVT OF THE LAND, I CAN TAKE GOOD CARES OF MY ENEMIES" Nigerians are too strong of the hardship the govt throws at them, is this how you gonna continues looking at yiur govt keep throwing shit at you? What do Nigerians benefits from govt sef? This is time to take the bulls by the horns, Nigerians wake up

It seems stupidity runs in Nigeria.

Trying to promote cashless policies and mobile banking and now you are introducing this?

People are weary of online banking before and are just starting to embrace it and now you do this?

It's commonsense that the amount we spend on maintaining cash, the inefficiency of a cash based economy and disadvantages is far greater than whatever revenue this is going to generate. Highest you make 10bn per year on such taxes, how much would the country lose from people boycotting cashless means of doing business?

Additional Tax made Lebanese youths to enter streets. The worse mistake Nigeria ever made was unitary system of govt. It is so hard to protest in Nigeria becus it will surely have ethnic sentiment attached. This is why govt is always having a free day to behave as they like. The shits we take in Nigeria, many citizens in other countries cant take them.

We are tax yet we lack basic everything of life: we dont have electricity, we work so hard to supply alternative electricity for our selves while politicians enjoy electricity using tax payers money for fuel, generator and diesel, both at home and offices. They also get paid for using tax payers money. They even get hardship allowance on top using tax payers money to flex.

We dont even have water, Nigerians dig their own water by them selves. And someone said here that I have low self esteem for saying the reality about Nigeria compared to her mates. Politicians will continue to have a free day while they mess around. Get ready becus more of our girls will prostitute while many youths will take to crime.

Your first paragraph is the reason I gave up on Nigeria. The country has no hope. I repeat, the country has no hope! Anybody thinking that Nigeria will get better one day is delusional!

The foundation is faulty! It's either it's restructured, or one day, it will collapse, like the house built on sand. Unfortunately, it will happen in our lifetime — by 2050, the population will be between 400 and 500 million.
