It can be switched on both miui 10 and 11 and that wasn't how it comes. I switched mine cause i was already use the AOSP way of having the back button by the left.

Goto Settings >> Additional Settings >> Full screen display and toggle on or off the mirror buttons depending on the one you want.

Rn7 users on 10.3.10 switch region to Mexico and check for updates... 10.3.12 will pop up
