lol. I'm sorry but this does not make sense. The strategy seem worse. You are obviously doing the same thing as others but with a more complicated approach. Except the driver forgets to ask, only then can this be applied. It comes with a cost, embarrassing yourself before a rider, having to plead for his or her understanding and bearing the cost of starting a trip that you were not paid for. The environment we live in demands you ASk where a rider is going before pick up or before starting a trip. Even though I don't do it all the time, especially in the early morning hours. It's one risk that is avoidable. End of story.

In my 3 months of ehailing, I’ve never asked a rider where he/she is going. Only requests I’ve had to cancel were rider no shows.

I was like you in my first 3months.

But this last month eeh!!
I can't even tolerate nonsense.

Surprisingly, my ratings have jumped to 4.79 on Uber and 4.93 on taxify.

Something I deemed impossible in my first 3months.

That gesture is for Uber drivers.
Not for people on vacation.

Ah no go lie, life ain't fair, we just have to push through.... 3 sat ago, I took a rider to festac and there is dis way my heart use to beat if I'm going dia, my heart will be turning on it own. Luckily I pick one Olosho going to one estate off community road along ago palace way, due to the bad road, she beg me to wait for like 40 mins cos Ikeja is her final destination and she's not sure if any driver will want to go through such road to pick her... Somehow I need that Ikeja trip, since I'm about to set destination trip and call it a day/week. Waited for 1hrs plus, right in front of me, another driver came to pick her, I called her and she ask me to go cos she is not sure when she will b ready, I patiently waited for her to board the ride, she saw me and didn't even bother to say hi cheesy, or should we talk about riders that will cancel after you've arrived. I've learn to accept all dis and I don't let them get to me, one thing I'll never do is to put myself in an unnecessary bad situation to please a rider.

Congratulations! Have you been to Akute via Iju ishaga road? Redemption camp? Community road? Amukoko? Alaba along Old Ojo road? If not, I hope you get what you are looking for.

I don’t drive full time though. I don’t care about ratings, I just drive, if rider like, make e dash me 0 star.... but my rating has never dropped below 4.82

Akute, yes. In fact I go there regularly (I have an uncle that stays there.

Been to Otta twice.

Festac too.

Na Lagos we Dey, if the road isn’t “that bad”, I’ll go. If I come across a road I feel I cannot ply, I simply tell rider that I cannot go beyond where I don reach and end the trip. That has happened twice.

My first ever trip to satellite.
I swimmed 27 rivers.
Trip ended 2800. Rider was so happy. Gave me 3k.

I got stuck on my way out, people pushed it out after agreeing to pay 2k.
Since then, I don't know how satellite town looks like.

No amount will ever take my car to that place ever again.

Your opinion, strictly. In the circles I move in, it's called integrity and customer service. It looks foolish on the surface, but trust me, it pays off for me big time.

This is Nigeria, where options are limited and people use that as an excuse to cheat; thinking it is a way to survive.

This is what Ornicus was against. And he is right, I dare say.

This is me whenever I accept a trip.

After greetings and all

Me: please which AREA are you going?
Rider: oh... I'm going to e.g surulere, vi, ikeja, festac, etc.
It's now left for you the driver to decline or continue.

( those 400naira trip riders like that Orniblockus guy)

Me: pls which area are you going?

Rider: why are u asking? Come and pick me and you will see where I'm going.

Me: Cancel the trip
Rider: No, you cancel?
Me: drives close, park my car, carry my phone and walk to the area and cancel after 5mins.

I see no reason why a ridee should be angry if you ask for the destination of the rider. Yellow taxi will always ask? Airport taxi will ask? So why cant I ask?
