Confusion Over Eligibility For Nigeria Could Make Rohr Shun QPR Eze For AFCON 2021 Qualifiers Games

The chances of QPR midfielder Ebere Eze turning out for the Super Eagles when they begin the qualifiers for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations next month appears to be very slim, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Eze is widely viewed as one of the most creative midfielder in the English Championship with back to back impressive performances for QPR. Last weekend he scored twice from the spot to hand them a 3-1 win away to Hull City.
Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has a long standing interest in luring the midfielder to the Super Eagles and Eze isn’t opposed to the idea. He even trained with the Super Eagles in 2017 during their training tour of England.

Rohr has maintained that the player will need some paperwork to be done before he can switch to Nigeria as he has represented England at U21 level in a competitive game. That claim was severally contested by many but checks by this portal can confirm that Rohr is indeed right.

The 22 year old made his debut for the U20 on the 11th of October 2018 against Italy in the UEFA Elite League competition. A tournament which is viewed as competitive meaning he will require clearance from FIFA to play for Nigeria. That wouldn’t have been the case if he had only played in a friendly game or not at all.
Getting FIFA to approve a switch of nationality for players who have represented England requires lot of time and it ranges between 12 to 14 months before it’s done. That effectively means Eze will not be in the Super Eagles squad for the AFCON 2021 Qualifiers game against Benin Republic and Lesotho respectively next month.

How long does the paperwork take

This is how the incompetence of the NFF caused the late introduction of Aina.

Paperwork is simply about administrative procedure it's not an approval application. But many are acting as if he has to sit an examination.

Thank you

A good quality player from the Championship will not struggle to adapt to the speed and physicality of the EPL.

A player coming from the European top leagues not all may take time to adapt, Pepe comes to mind.

Look at Daniel James, Abraham , Tomori, Mount and a host of other championship players coming into the EPL including the ones that promoted with their clubs have all hit the ground running, meanwhile, the ones from other leagues that came into EPL are still struggling to find their form.

This is the reason why any decent players in the championship is always rushed by EPL teams, whether mid table or top table

Why is he struggling to stand out in the Championship❓

When your team is very poor and facing relegation it can be difficult to impose your personal stamp and quality on the game.

However, it can be a two edged sword in that you could be the only one that stands out among the carpenters.

Because right now Ovie is standing out a lot more than Etebo. Meanwhile Ovie is in a struggling team too in the relegation zone.

Who is telling you people that Etebo is not performing? Stoke's 2 match winning streak coincide with his installment into the AMF position. These wins were against Swansea and Fulham and that show his team is much better than their position on the log says. He was even named man of the match against Nottingham even though his team lost. It is no secret that Etebo is much better than that league.

I think we should storm NFF pages to demand ebere:s invite not minding his eligibility. At least let him train n be assured of his chances with Nigeria

Stop being ridiculous with your posts. Does Etebo have half the creativity of Ebere Eze?

This comparison is not necessary

Does etebo play the same position with eze?

Now let me get back at you, does eze have 1 percent of etebo defensive abilities?

You don't win matches by chasing rabits on pitch it is done by technicality, determination and skills. Go and check the stats of both players and come back to argue with me. Etebo is in lowly Stoke city and can't even make all match day squad, yet you're comparing him with another who kept pulling MOM performances. Wake up sir!

Lol etebo doesnt make match day squad in stoke?

If you dont see him there he is either injured, stop saying what you dont know bro, joe allen and etebo are always the first players on stoke list

Stoke are doing badly, but dont make it look like QPR is a big club, i am not supporting anyone but we should be sincere at time with the way we judge

And hope you know stoke city finished ahead of QPR last season?

I never said he is not making match day squad, i meant ALL which means his appearances are still low. Ebere Eze has 12 appearances with 6 goals and 2 assists plus injury which made him miss some. A fit Etebo has 7 appearances(3 as Sub) with zero goal(s) and zero assist(s). His rabbit chasing skills and nitro burning should have helped him win matches for lowly stoke nau.

You want someone that is playing deeper to have goals and assist? how do you watch your own football?

Its just like you wanting a javi martinez to have more goals and assists than a coutinho in the bayern team

This is very laughable. Ebere Eze has better defensive stats than Etebo in the championship. Take a peep at Whoscored bro. He has more takles, more interception, more aerial duels won and less foul committed even though he has played more games than Etebo grin

I have said that the Championship is the most competitive and financially buoyant 2nd tier league in the world.

Top strikers in the Championship can cost in excess of £30 million. This is something the mid to bottom section of the top 10 leagues in Europe will struggle with.

It's not uncommon for Championship sides to beat EPL sides in the FA cup.

So because sheffield beat arsenal you don begin talk long thing?

Didnt Granada beat barcelona?

Didnt real mallorca beat madrid?

Lol which top strikers will cost 30million in the championship?

Why wont championship side sell costly to epl? when they see how others league scam epl teams in selling a player

Yes i might give the championship the best second division but not for footballing reasons because those teams there are not that good, maybe the league is more organized and the fan base

Take a look at how hoffienham scammed newcastle by selling joelinton for 40 million euros for someone who scored just 7 goals in 29 bundesliga appearances , i can bet that osimhen is better than this player, lol

Oga make we hear word abeg

True

that is why a lot of EPL clubs are more comfortable buying players from the championship, cos it's more like home away from home, as the players don't struggle to adapt to the EPL

Lol

Are you serious?

Even arsenal wenger will rather take a player from ligue 2 than the world class championship players grin

Thanks to lampard for tomori and co

So all the players that came from the championship are proving their self abi? you want me to give you names ?

You guys are sounding as if players from division 2 of others league are not making it to their main league , funny people

If i give you list of players from division 2 thats doing well in their first division you cant even compare it with the championship to epl own

Why doenst others big team buy players from world class championship, lol

We have seen psg buy a player from seria B, we have seen madrid also done so from league 2 grin

Can you guys guess who the 3 other players might be?

I think Eze is one of them, that might be why England is not showing interest, cause they know about the paper works.

Owngoalnigeria.com:
Former England youth international Chuba Akpom isn’t the only player who has agreed to switch his international allegiance to Nigeria after appearing for another country at youth level, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

” Akpom isn’t the only one, three others have also agreed to play for Nigeria. Infact two of them initially turned down the chance to represent us last year but they are ready this year and very soon they will have the necessary documents to enable them play for Nigeria “, a source told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” At this stage we won’t be mentioning names because of the dicey nature of these switch but in the coming days their identity will be made public as we believe by then the switch would have been made official by FIFA “, he concluded.
