Mkenya2019: This project started like 2014 or 2016 and all you can say is we have one building no land reclamation or dispute no funding gproblens but only one building and I know you are lying I did a bit of research and according to at least five different news companies have said konza city has not taken off or konza city struggles to attract private investment I even went onto the official channel for konza on Twitter they had basically no news whatsoever other than this guy visited this place and that's all no progress on this building or render for this building or proposed etc. There is no real progress or milestone happening in Konza city and frankly you are yourself if you think massive progress is happening there if it was really moving forward we would have seen at least 4 building by now. 1 Like |

There is progress but not as fast as we want. I think it was started earlier - with Land acquisition - 5,000 acres - and being 60kms from Nairobi - there is a lot of work that need doing. Admittedly it as slow as your Eko City with has 2 or 3 towers completed in nearly 20 yrs. https://lh3.ggpht.com/p/AF1QipNcDyiu_3Vgiwp8b60MHByceWa35uYO2WeG673A=s1536 Abohboy: 3 Likes

Mkenya2019: But it isn't as slow because Eko Atlantic, the sand reclamation was completed in 2015 befirec the recession you cannot build anything reasonable during a recession no private company would even approach a country like that But now that we have recovered many companies are investing and coming to Eko Atlantic to build headquarters and buildings like Lagos sky tower, LA reve tower, c towers, audacity skyline and iconic towers so those plots have all been bought and all they are doing is soil testing for their buildings unlike konza where most plots are not bought up no sign of cranes, or excavators etc on site and no infrastructures like street lights, water pumps and over amenities etc 3 Likes |

Shma: Where's the progress? All I see are sourceless renders, none with any actual contruction going on. Also building height is not the "height" of progress. |

AskiaHarem:so the buildings you have been posting here are the actual image. you were posting renders image and that triggered me to do the same. Now let's go slow. I posted them knowing one of you will come to ask for construction progress. Show me one so I can prove to you that those building are truly under construction. |

Konza is a technopolis campus - don't expect to see huge skyscrappers there - the plots will not be sold - they will be given free - right now - we are fixing horizontal infrastructure - roads, electricity, sewage , fiber - and then investors will rush in to take advantage of free land - maybe tax holiday - and it will be full before you're out of recession. Oil doesn't seem to be getting out of recession soon. Abohboy: 5 Likes

Mkenya2019: First off were out of recession second off konza is not a campus it is not a university it is a city that makes no sense if the government is going to spend a billion dollar on a university does it I watched a progress video released in July I went to the comment section they said this project is horrible how they extorted the money and how it was meant to be completed by 2020 but all they have is one building. Plus even if it is a free trade zone you are not going to give away your land for free are you because your making no profit and debenefitting yourself if you just gave away land for free You say there will be noo Skyscrapers all the renders and masterplans involve skyscrapers and highrise buildings. |

You're barely out of recession - just growing at 1-2% depending on the oil mood. Anyway back to Konza. Konza is a technology city - it will be a huge campus for techies - it will host tech companies, research institutions, innovation hubs and supporting services (hotels, hospitals, schools, and residence). I think Egypt in Africa have such a tech city. One of key signature we have secure for Konza is from famed Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. I think we need 200M dollars to see if off ground but everything is nearly ready. Then couple of local and international universities will be given land to establish research and innovation hubs. Then technology companies - will also be given free land that has power, fiber and name it. A few hospitals, hotels and residential companies will also get plots. Konza masterplan is already ready - designed by some of best architect in world. Phase 1 of the project is under constructions. Then we will have phase 2 & 3. Here is KASIT - Kenya Advance Institute of Science and Technology - to be build & run by Korean KASIT. Abohboy:

Mkenya2019: I will ask again how are you making profit from the development if there is no profit than there is no point in it is there phase 1 was supposed to be completed in 2014 but has it no and when you search it there is no news that Cambridge or MIT or Stanford etc are planning on investing in the project until I see physical evidence of these fires being laid down, street lights and companies planning on investing than I cannot see the point, feasibility or the progress of konza city |

What we all need is a mindlift! A mindspace reset that will enable us to see beyond what we THINK WE KNOW and finally see things clearly. Talking to a mindlifted person is like a blind man finally seeing the dawn unblinkered by lack of vision or like a horse that can only go forward as it receives no visual cues from the environment. LET ME JUST COPY PASTE THIS IN ITS ENTIRETY. Nigeria has a smaller national budget than Algeria, Angola, Egypt, Libya, Morocco and South Africa. All these countries have fewer citizens, yet significantly more money to spend on them. While Nigeria’s 2019 budget amounts to $29 billion, South Africa, with a population almost 4 times smaller, will spend $130 billion. Egypt has a $90 billion budget with 100 million people. Elsewhere, countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh and Vietnam have larger budgets than Nigeria. No one considers these nations “rich”. Yet, among Nigerians, there persists a stubborn myth that Nigeria is a wealthy country. Who planted this idea and why does it survive? https://www.nairaland.com/5468787/development-lagos-larger-annual-budget/3 The writer has truly rare talent combining wisdom mixed with psychosocial insights into a college level paper that's still easily readable even for the likes of Kazibure!
