hammed71:Can you post or type the wording in the Attestation Letter you got? Please remove any personal info before posting. I just want to see if they explained in the letter why you were given Attestation Letter instead of the Birth Certificate. |

Treasureprince1:Sorry I intended replying this but forgot. Front loading is simply submitting load of documents that you believe would prove your case whether it was requested for or not. This is done while your fiance is submitting the i129F document to USCIS. During my time, what we did was to submit any document we feel will validate the information we provided on the i129F form. This include things like me and my wife's employment documents, me and my wife's bank statement, my wife's tax documents, receipts of things I bought for her, visa stamps for the several countries I've been to along with boarding passes, pictures of us together, chats, emails, and so on. My woman said the document was so heavy...lol. Note however that the documents has to be properly arranged so that it will be easy for the USCIS guys to read through else it could be a disaster. Note also that you have to endeavor not to miss out the critical documents while front loading. The critical documents are listed out in the USCIS website. 3 Likes |

LegitBachelor:OK ATTESTATION OF BIRTH- ***** HAMMED ***** Decree no.69 of December,1992 on Births, deaths, etc,(Compulsory Registration) of Federal Military Government of Nigeria assigned the function of the registration of Births,Deaths,Marriages, Divorces etc, and issuance of such relevant certificates to National Population Commission with effect from 1988. With reference to the application for Letter of Attestation of Birth from the bearer *****HAMMED****** and a copy of statutory Declaration of Age of 9th day of September, 2019 obtained at the High Court Registry, Holden at Ibadan, Oyo State of Nigeria. *****Hammed***** was born at Lagos in **** LGA of Lagos state on the ***day of ****month,1994 to the family of Mr ***** **** ****(father) from **** in *** Local government area of ****state of Nigeria and ***** ***** ****(mother) from **** in **** local government area of **** state of Nigeria. and that ***** Hammed***** is an indigene of **** in *** local government area of***state of Nigeria. hammed71:This letter did not give an acceptable reason why you were given attestation leter instead of the actual birth certificate. I just read the Decree No 69 of December 1992 and there is no place where I saw that someone cannot register his or her birth if he or she is 18 years old. In fact there is a provision for late registration of Birth in the Act. I will provide it below: Late registration of birth (1) A person applying for the late registration of the birth of a child under section 10 (2) of the Act shall accompany the application with a sworn affidavit stating‐ (a) the name of the child; (b) the date and place of birth of the child; (c) the name of the mother of the child; (d) the name of the father of the child; (e) the reason for not registering the birth within the time specified for registration; (f) such other information as may be required by the Commission So I wonder why they say your case falls beyond the coverage of the Act. I've heard of people who were even born before 1992 and yet got the NPC Birth Certificate so I wonder why yours will be different. Your parents (or uncle or guardian) can always swear an affidavit for you if that's the issue. My advice: go back there and plead your case...you might have to part with some money (which is unfortunate) or you go to your Local Government Office and request for the NPC Birth Certificate there. I honestly don't think the USCIS guys will agree that your case does not merit a Birth Certificate. cc: Capello1 |

hammed71: Yes, first try another office and ask what document they will give to you if it's birth certificate or attestation . |

capello1:It took me 5 days to get my Attestation. But I think it's possible to fast track it within a day if some palms are greased. It's usually the signing that takes time. During my time, I was told the Director was not on seat. |

Sukey: Hey Was just scrolling through the thread when I came across your post. I don’t know the activities involved in a traditional engagement ceremony but it could easily be mistaken for traditional marriage. Know that the CO’s consider traditional marriage or similar ceremony, mostly involving dowry payment, as too married for K1,a girl was denied when I had my interview. I advise you tread carefully when asked and the pictures you present as evidence during the interview. 2 Likes |

Hello guys, so I’ve been a silent reader on the platform so far and I’ve been able to get some vital information while following the thread. So we got our case number from the NVC on Friday (my fiancée called NVC) and so far I’ve filled the DS160 form, just the visa application fee is left to be paid. However, whenever i try to track our case with the NVC the attached image is what pops up, when I read through the instructions, it seem different from the K1 visa procedure I’ve read about so far. Please guys can anyone share more light on this and tell me the next step to take? 1 Like

dicsnemma: First of all, blur your case number please. Secondly, your case is still at NVC, the NVC will then send it to the embassy, once it says in transit, that means it is being sent to Nigeria. Once it says ready, start gathering your docs and send an email to the embassy to confirm if they received your case. 3 Likes |

Hi Guys! I made payment earlier today and I’ve been trying to proceed by inputting the transaction reference but each time I did I kept seeing the response in red bar. Am I missing out something or the payment is yet to be processed to their server? I’d greatly appreciate prompt response. |
