Calling japan the west was referring to their civilisation. In Africa, the civilised world is generally referred to as west, not necessarily the geographical west. That was the west I was referring to, not Asia
ok, thank you.
By the way it is true that Japan westernized a long time ago, way before ww1.

bini was never any pooo empire. No kingdom was under bini and don’t tell me about urhobo and itshekiri those guys where never under bini.

I just laugh you bini guys talk trash about stupid kingdom that was burnt down by the British in just 3 days.

The only empire in this world is British empire and God bless king James. Not some sort of evil lesser village African chiefs that call themselves kings.

Kings that can’t protect their kingdom most were exiled and their kingdom taken from them hahahahaha.

Please don’t go hang your self I’m just having a beautiful day here in LA.
If you had specified you were a hater with no facts then the conversation would probably have ended right there. I get it, you hate African traditions, monarchies and Benin in particular. No need to add any more words. But you seem to want to go the extra mile of denying facts and claiming what suits your world view as reality. Unfortunately for you the Benin empire was visited by litterate people as far back as the 15th century (1400's). And the they made maps and wrote texts describing the region.

Guess what, Benin Kingdom was an empire. And it's capital is Benin city.
The Olu of Warri admitted his Benin roots when the Oba of Benin came to his palace, the Oba of Lagos admitted his Benin roots and so many others did.
But I can't stop you from hating. I can only point to facts and proofs.

Some of the maps:

An other map of Benin made in the 17th century once again:

An other map of Benin from the 17th century:

This one date to the 19th century:

We have been independent for 59 yrs and Haven't revived the kingdom's and lifestyle, cause the seed of disunity, hate, self-destruction has been planted and can not be uprooted, the seed is planted in me it's planted in you am speaking in a foreign language and using a foreign device cause they took what belonged to us and built a foundation that will enslave us to them forever we are all mentally enslaved, I am a slave you are a slave simple we African have lost almost everything about our culture tradition and kingdom's just like our brothers and sisters who were taken as slaves to the Western world, they can't revive who they were cause it has been erased and destroyed
The seed may be planted in you, but definitely not in me. You may be a slave but I'm definitely not in chains with you. You may have lost almost everything about your culture and tradition. I haven't.
And that is why I revel in my pride as an African man of Nigerian nationality belonging to the Igbo tribe. It's why I can look at a Japanese coronation ceremony and have my aesthetic senses tingling, my mind inquisitive for knowledge and my respect extended to my fellow man. Your chains are the reason why you look at a beautiful ceremony and it only triggers your inferiority complex. Maybe if you didn't spend so much time obsessed with non-African people, perhaps you may have had the presence of mind to appreciate and promote your own culture.

Must you bring down your african tradition?, you dont appreciate the enthronement of the oba of benin or the ooni of ife, but you are drooling over Japanese cos of the elaborate elaborateness. Are you aware that the benin empire and dynasty is one of the top 5 most recognised royals in the world?. Appreciate your own for once. The only difference between them is the fact that one is western and the other is african

The level of order in Japanese culture is mind-blowing. It's a country I'll like to visit every year in the near future.

I don't like monarchy, but because of my love for Japanese people, culture of bravery, orderliness, and military intelligence, theirs is an exemption.

Not kamikaze. Read Wikipedia entry on the Second World War II and all the intrigues that panned out in the Japanese Imperial palace and also how even when their govt surrendered, à group of die-hard soldiers refused to surrender until more than 30 years after.
your are absolutely right, one of those soldiers is Hero Onoda.

Technically, my first speaking language is Igbo. I use another man's language as my first writing language because it was the common language most accessible to me. Still doesn't stop me from speaking my mother tongue. Why would celebrating another man's culture and tradition make me a slave like you? There's no rule that says I only have to celebrate my culture. I can celebrate as many cultures as I want. Unlike you that is bound by your own chains
What is your pride as an African man of Nigerian nationality of Igbo ethic group? When Africa and Nigeria is chasing the shadow of Western culture trying to be like them?
I take pride that I come from a people with a rich cultural background, enterprising spirit and adventurous personality. How are Africans chasing the shadow of Western culture? We have our own fashion, food, entertainment, languages, etc. We have an identity that we promote constantly. Which you would notice if you stopped obsessing jealously over non-Africans?
Mental enslavement and inferiority complex is the reason why you celebrate another man's culture tradition and language, and see nothing wrong with the one you lost
My condolences if you've lost your culture, tradition and language. I haven't lost mine.
Maybe if you didn't spend time worshipping non Africans perhaps you might have had the presence of mind to embrace your own tradition culture and kingdom

1)Technically your first language is Igbo, you use another man's language cause that man made your own language of less value,

2) the Japanese still maintained their first language as their first writing language cause they don't value another man's language more than their language,
3)in your country your first language is forbidden in schools kids get punished for speaking their mother tongue in class, I can't count how many times I got punished for speaking vernacular in class (mental enslavement)

4) celebrating another man's culture makes you a slave yours it's lost, and it's a shame you really don't know your culture as an Igbo man cause if you do, you will know that 80% of the Igbo rules, rituals, festivals, taboos values and traditions of the Igbo kingdom' has been lost , same goes for other African ethnic groups and tribes,

5) you talk about having your own fashion look around and see what people wear on daily basis both males and female, how many of them wear African fashion,? What identity do you promote, that the most noticeable thing known about your country is corruption, fraud, tribal and religious conflicts?
Stop worshipping non Africans my friend, it's a shame you believe these faded culture we practice is the original, think about it Mr, you are trying to sound smart but your are dull and needs someone to tell you. Your ignorance makes you a pathetic slave, how is it pathetic that i copied you, we are all western copy copy, you are pathetic too, cause this is not our language

Like I stated initially, it's easier for you to create imaginary chains for yourself to help you contend with your inferiority complex. As you yourself have admitted that you're a slave, I don't see why a free man, such as myself, should sully his image by continuing to speak to you. Enjoy captivity.

First off, I doubt you can match my educational qualifications, secondly, a famous quote once says, " your education is a waste if you can't see past religious and tribal sentiments". This quote gives a clearer picture of your 'education'. I am detribalised, if you go through my writings, you'll see that. For you to even ask if benin is an empire shows how myopic you are. The Benin Empire is recognised world wide. Google is your friend. Lastly, mind how you talk to people, you never know tomorrow's plans. The fact you have a phone and access to the internet doesn't mean you can speak to anyone anyhow. Be civil. Technology isn't a license to be stupid.
